- Automobilista 2 vs Assetto Corsa Competizione Nordschleife COMPARISON in BMW M4 GT3
Both sims with default setup and 15 litres of fuel, this is my very first lap in any GT3 car in AMS2 and only my 5th lap in ACC on the Nordschleife
There is no doubt I can find more laptime in both sims after these far from perfect laps.
I'm new to Nordschleife and found it interesting to compare both sims back to back in this comparison.
Default setup in both sims (TC, ABS & brake bias being the only changes)

ACC one looks better but will play the AMS2 version much more because of great VR performance, more car classes to race and much better AI to race with.
Hello, choice is great, and with AC2 coming, we will be spoiled in 2024. VR support in Sims is nice to have (ideally official support). I had an Oculus Rift CV1 years ago, and the immersion is very nice.
My Triple 32s" do take up a lot of room, I won't rule out a return to VR in future.
Thanks for watching.
use dlss 3.7, brought me back to acc
First of all, thank you for posting something like this. I am driving both , but for VR have to say AMS2 is much better performance, so I prefer it more. BUT, one big but, ACC has done great job about green_hell !
ACC track surroundings are always the same regardless off if you are in a private test or race. AMS2 does alter the amount of fans and objects on a private test day. The ACC version in this test will look "better" the AMS2 is more realistic for the session type
I agree
Yes one is more static, both ACC & AMS2 simulate differently and do it very well for the most part. Thanks for watching and your comment.
Despite the obvious differences, it's surprising how well the old one holds up.
I'm really bothered by the car jumping around in AMS2 in this video🤣, idk if you like it is good, but if not you can fix with "Legacy head Movement" settings and make it so its more stable like ACC. Excellent video mate thanks, I've been on the fence, but I think I'll bit the bullet in ACC.
Yes, I have used it in other cars. First time driving the M4 in AMS2 on any track
What a superb comparison. Hint: AMS2 is on the left, ACC on the right, since it wasn't mentioned.
Both tracks looks great. The trees in ACC don't look that good, then again your focus should be on the tarmac, so I suppose that's a minor gripe. But the most noticeable thing for me is how the car in AMS2 is bouncing about with each and every ondulation/crack/imperfection in the track, while ACC appears to be floating. Did you notice this in the FFB?
Of course, none of this matters to me as ACC is a useless game given how VR in it is virtually unplayable, not to mention you only have a dozen or so cars to race with. A track like the Nords demands every bit of realism in order for you to keep the tires on the tarmac, which means VR is the only way to truly enjoy a lap without getting your face painted green (there's a reason why it's called the green hell). Nice try ACC, but until the game can handle VR properly, it's only half a game.
Check out OpenXR toolkit. Using it with ACC I used to get 90fps on a Reverb G2. If you have a Nvidia GPU you can use foveated rendering as well to get even more FPS.
Ams2 really is the king of VR. I use with Quest 3.
@PITAH1 I would like to try VR again while simracing as it's been a few years. Thanks for watching.
ACC has a very specific FFB, as do all sims. The cars are quite planted, unlike the GT3 cars in AMS2 that are still "slidey" but fun. VR would be nice to try again and I know a couple of people who absolutely love AMS2 for VR.
The Nordschleife in ACC is excellent, Misha is certainly happy with its digital representation.
It is great for hotlapping and a completely different experience for racing.
Thanks for watching.
