How To Launch With Hondata Launch Control (2 Step)

  • This is how I launch my Civic using the Hondata Flashpro's launch control feature. The limiter is set at 3500rpm and a rebound of 3500rpm. This is the ideal setting for street tires. You can set the limiter higher if you are using drag slicks. I am able to hook very well at my current settings.
    Comment if you have any questions.
    *Remember to turn off your traction control so that the ECU doesn't cut power to your drive wheels.

    • @TheTongMan

      no, i don't get the brunt clutch smell. realistically you will only be riding the clutch for a second or so, not enough to burn your clutch

    • @RelaxKidsbs
      @RelaxKidsbs 10 лет назад

      Okay thanks. I took my car out for the first time today, all I have is a Tsudo 70mm cat back exhaust, Hybrid Racing CAI, and a base map Flashpro tune. Fastest I could put down was 15.22. I need to work on my launch, I did not have flashpro launch control set up right so it was at 5k and I decided not to use it. So I would just rev it to about 3k and then ride the clutch out a bit to gain traction and let off then hammer the gas. After my 2nd pass I noticed my clutch being burned up (started smelling clutch). I don't feel like I rode the clutch too long, but signs are saying I did. Is it safer to just set my launch control to 3-3.5k, and then dump the clutch at launch? I know this is hard on the drive train but I don't want to burn my clutch up either.

      I've heard of people hitting low 15's bone stock, so I'm hoping to at least break in the 14's. Also my 60' time was a 2.466 so I know I can pick up there a little with a better launch.

    • @TheBigChad
      @TheBigChad 3 года назад +1

      I know this comment was from 3 years ago but for anyone that’s run into the same problem, just reset to factory settings and find a calibration that works best for you. You can’t just pick and choose what RPM you wanna go to and not adjust the air/fuels to go with it. There’s a little bit more involved than just setting a limiter.

      Stock Civic's dont have launch control/2step/antilag. In order to do that, You need to buy it. You can get a Hondata Kpro launch control for a few hundred bucks. It definetly helps in drag racing, i also really enjoy using it.

      Yes, hondas of that generation and newer have a stock rev limiter set to 4.5k while you're stationary. Once the car is in motion the limiter goes up to redline. I've launched my 2013 Si from the stock rev limiter plenty of times with and without traction control. Pretty easy if you ask me.

    Lmfao.@Car Nut has shut down so many wannabees... All this does is cut fuel at a certain RPM. If you can hold your foot steady you can do the same shit. The only feature I found good in Flashpro was Boost by Gear. The rest of it is gimmicky and shouldn't be messed with unless the man mapping your car changes it.

    • @Servicemember80
      @Servicemember80 9 лет назад +8

      Holding your foot steady does not replicate what a two step does for you - when you two step you are flooring the pedal and usually the e-brake to load up the trans/axles for launch so you dont snap them ---- holding the pedal at 3500rpm requires ALOT of focus which is split second situations is just one more problem to have and keeps you from being able to hold the gas pedal down and just launch with the clutch pedal.
      There is a reason why two-steps exist and its not because race car drivers are lazy - boosted cars with anti-lag and two steps will build boost on the line because they are WOT ---- holding 3500rpm with very little throttle will NOT build boost or create as good a launch as a floored pedal two step will

      aneeb cassiem it's so you don't bog the car, if you just dump the clutch like a noobie and floor it the engine will bog and have to overcome that. Slipping the clutch a little ensures a smooth rpm and take off.

    • @Ne3bO
      @Ne3bO 7 лет назад

      this car will not bog. It's not necessary. If you worried about spinning, your accelerator foot could take care of that.

    what an 'amazing' launch .... xD can you just remove the word 2step from the title, this make no sence, no bang, no fire, pretty slow set/reset, this launch is pretty useless
