Ha! First time I've ever seen my ship in a video. I was the Alaska in the B cap with your Black. Didn't even realize it was you until someone made a comment at the end of the match. O7!
I enjoy the Duke of York (except when in a T9 game) as she has hydro which is quite helpful for torpedo detection. Her guns are decent. Her mobility is good. Being a British BB she is good at setting fires. I got the Black many years ago and my only complaint is her torps are slower today than they were because so many more faster ships have been introduced to the game. I find her difficult to play because in cap zones, not having quick torps you cannot defend your self very well from aggressive enemy ships. Of course i am old and my brain is not what it use to be. I wish WG would adjust her torp speed some.
The DoY was the first coal ship I got, and I think what threw me the first time playing was that the description seemed to make it more of an HE spammer than a standard AP BB. I did learn differently after the first (horrible) game. I don't know if I'd rank it as one of the best of the coal ships, but it isn't bad. I still don't have enough research points to get the Ohio but I have all the others. The Napoli is definitely a beast.
Being a FTP CoOp main colors my opinions but here goes. I wonder how the Hayate is now that it was switched to coal and buffed with a TRB and smoke. I play my premium ships, I have many, more than the tech tree ships. You mentioned the premium ability to move captains to and from premium ships without penalty but it is even better after the captain skills rework as now you can move a captain between ship types, DD to CA to BB, ect and have the captain skills tuned for each. So if you have a 21 point captain you can move him to many ships and have earn skill points for other captains. Your video about how bad the Carnot is was helpful, I thought it was just me. But you mentioned how good the Toulon was so I got it to give it a try, the Dunkerque did not impress me. The Toulon is fun, at least in CoOp, I am having a good time with it even as a torp DD main. It's ability to delete broadside cruisers is great.

Honestly, I think Napoli IS overrated. Bad HE (long reload, low ignition chances), decent AP (good against cruiser, average against BB) . Playing Napoli with secondaries makes it a beast against DD but that's all. It's hard to hit a Napoli, but Napoli don't brings a lot in games (better take Salem or des moines to be impactful)
It brings very strong armour, powerful AP, exhaust smoke, powerful secondaries and good torps with good angles. The HE might not be great, but it's not that's not its strength. Des Moines might have more DPM and radar, but it doesn't have anywhere near the survivability. Napoli is strong, but I personally don't enjoy it much.
As PVE main, I played as Napoli B and she can wipe out half of enemies at Asymmetric Battle than my Salem. Her SAP secondaries are hitting hard not only to DD but against BB superstructures too I use her like my Cherbourg in Operations. Keep her guns as AP shells and let her secondaries work! Using HE in Napoli are situational only
Where I think Napoli can bring an awful lot to the table, I find facing off with them fairly average. Unless the player is quite good, they aren't too much trouble, especially if they pop smoke. I just put distance between me and the smoke so I don't get spammed by secondaries. Unless she's perfectly angled, penning her armor isn't too much trouble. I agree she's fairly overrated.
Only a noob or fun build will go secondary Napoli. The main strength of the Napoli is in it's tankiness, it's so incredibly tanky, more tanky than many BBs if you include it's smoke. It can tank so damn well, I highly recommend you go with a tank build on a Napoli, in the end you'll live longer so you'll do more damage with secondaries anyway.
I would say, most ships , even for only dubloons are free, since in rankeds u are geting dubloons as a reward, its extremly slow work, but im completly free to play and i manage to get 3 tier 8 premiums already with this way ,Also you can sometimes get dubs from different containers and events...
Can you make a video about all the free bonus packages ( basically premium ) you can acquire for free to turn the tech line ships into premium bonus ships?
sea lord you forgot a small point about the bourgogne i think ( IF Wg didn t change it i mean), the bourg engine boost give a higher % speed bonus thant the standard 8% french BB get ( i think it is 12? for some reason i remember seeing it at 20% ... maybe i was dreaming)
I bought the Texas because I have been on that ship several times and I am glad it is being restored. That said, I did not appreciate WG nerfing it after I had paid for it. Kind of like buying a car and the dealer replacing the wheels with cheaper ones while parked in the driveway. Don't spend money with WG, they are rip offs.
Both are fun to use, but DM and Salem are the same just with less gimmicks and a super heal. You should probably get Napoli and grind for the Des Moines
Napoli is way fun... know what's way funner? Michaelangelo. I know it was a dockyard ship but geez... I've got mine built to over 70K HP at tier 9 and 10.5 Km SAP Secondaries. Monster ship...
Black has different torpedoes, but they ain't anything like Bensons. They have 13.5 km range AFAIK are very slow, but hit hard and have technically deep water torpedo detection. Just to clarify there. 😊
@@ninobixio6156 Same. I've hit tier 10 in maybe 5 lines? Don't be so worried about getting to the end of the tech lines, rushing to the end doesn't teach you much, and as ninibixio said, 7 & 8 are comfortable. They're also probably the best tiers to learn in, and was where I spent most of my time while I was playing randoms, which I rarely bother with now, CVs and SSs have removed all the fun for me, so I tend to play a lot of Ops and, when available, almost excusively asymm battles. Oh, WG we need more, and some high level, ops please.
But what does that mean, playing for 2 years? How many games have you played? Because you could've played 100 games, or you could've played 5000. Mind you, if you get boosters and such, getting to tierX is very easy, I can get to TX from T6 in 2 days with blue boosters without issues.
Just a note, the lack of a Cash price doesn't mean something is free. If you're playing the game in a manner different from what you'd normally play (such as putting in extra gaming hours), you're *working* for that ship, you are putting in your time and labor. Grinding 100 hours of playtime for a ship doesn't mean you got it for free, it means you worked 100 hours for it. Compare that to your paycheck and see what that ship is *actually* costing you.
Okay, that was Sea Lord's on crack top 5 FREE premium ships list, now here's the real Top 5 premium ships list: 5. Salem, it's basically a Des Moines with a super heal, need I say more? 4. Ragnar, of all the DD's in the game this tops the list of the ones I fear the most when I'm in a DD. It will even chew French DD's apart. 3. Pommern, take all the German gimmicks you can find and stick them all on one ship and you get the Pommern. 2. Stalingrad, like battleships but hate waiting for the reload? Than this is the answer, plus 12km radar. 1. Ohio, like Sea Lord said, it does it all. Probably the best all around BB in the game. Top Honorable mentions: - Gato, yeah subs are the spawn of Satan but this is the best of them. - Black, it's a Fletcher with radar, how could that go wrong? - Charleston, sure it's a tier III but it's OP AF at that tier and a lot of fun.
Ragnar is at the top of my list if I ever get enough steel. But the downside to the ship I have heard is that it can be boring to play. No torps so you just sail around and shoot things. Not something many dedicated DD players want.
@@frosty3693 it's basically a cruiser without a citadel. It can be a serious pain to deal with and it's only weakness is it's detection but if it gets spotted by another DD or sub they better pray it doesn't have Radar ready or they'll be an addition to a reef real quick.
Big bleh of a list imo. Salem is okay, not great for sure, and you can get DM in tech tree so why waste the coal? Pommern, really? Terrible in the meta, you can't brawl in the majority of games cuz of subs, passive meta, CVs. Stalingrad, good ship yeah but why waste your steel when you can get the petro in the tech tree?
Ragnar is a great ship if you have a dedicated captain and know how to play. Not everyone is prepared to invest that much. I am learning how to play it, and have a 21 point captain dedicated to pure gunboats Ragnar and Friesland. It is fun, and I hope to some day make it work in Clan Battles.
@@taserrr well you're entitled to your opinion even if it's wrong. Waste coal or steel? They're free resources. I have no problem using the Pommern. Stalingrad is way better than the Petro in just about every conceivable way, not sure how you can even compare them.

If you are really new and yeah kinda insight for CB if you planning to try it: Mucho texto Dont give a fk to what i said (well im nobody after all) if you just want play on random Instead of Bourgogne, its better to get Stalingrad first. Stalingrad good for all type game mode and highly needed in CB because of Radar and Firepower than Bourgogne if you want to farming steel to get other steel ships. BBs slot mostly already filled by previous clan member too. Instead of Napoli, Moskva is better first choice than Napoli. Similar to Stalingrad, she is highly needed in CB too if your clan need more DPM. Moskva rarely limited or banned which Nevsky the one mostly banned lmao Napoli is really good for CB and ranked but for random sometimes its bad due to some condition and you get this ship after Moskva. You get tired in random this day if play secondary napoli and napoli highly will limited even banned if you asking why not just grind Petro, Petro mostly limited even banned in CB similar with Napoli. Napoli replacement tech tree ships like Marseille, Martin or Castilla even Pamonte so a lot of choices but Petro i think only Moskva and Stalingrad even DM is replaced by Salem. DoY is good ship but its better to save for T9 or 10. This ship good for random and if ranked sinop is better choice. Spending coal for low tier is bad move, save it. Ohio is good ships for all type but again in CB, BBs slot already filled and Ohio replacement are tons of it like Vincent, Kremlin, Preussen/Hannover, Satsuma, Colombo, Vermont etc even Montana so its not necessary wasting your time to get Ohio and just grind others. Black is good for random and ranked, in CB she is good but DD slot also mostly filled. DD is one of vital type in CB so they highly use pro DD player for this slot. So you can get Agir however ask your clan leader or senior because mostly cruiser they use tech tree for T9 CB. Well no more alaska so sadge. Well in the end, im just nobody and you can go whatever you want
It is a fun ship to play and I get consistent damage with it, but I feel like it lacks the potential to have huge battle impact like some of the others. Its planes are great against cruisers and certain battleships but nigh useless against a dd even remotely paying attention. Its main guns leave a lot to be desired with their subpar reload, limited range, and mediocre accuracy at long ranges. But still able to consistently pull 150 k per match and get a kill or two.
@@spiderz8144 it has huge battle impact plane spotting for one and god tier firepower also and subpar reload??? It has 12x406 mm 45 cal guns there isnt anything like that in game with 36s reload only thing you can compare it to is hizen which is trash or minesota which is a big fat pile of sĥıt with 40s reload. Aaand the armor is litterally god tier except the hangar, in close range people try to hit the hull whic bounces the shells because its heavily armored. I think you know almost everything i said above too and i disagree there isnt a lot free premiums that are this good it is at top 5 imo. this DoF is nowhere near as good even for its tier(referring to video)
@@mertc8050 At tier 9 I agree it does well, but all too often it is paired into t10 and super ship matches where its guns are alright at best. Unlike the Montana, the kearsarge has North Carolina guns with their slower flight time and reduced range. The only way to stay competitive with the main guns in these high tier matches was to take range mod, but with that instead of dispersion mod a lot of the shells fail to hit their mark at extreme ranges. Even with the range mod you barely reach the range other t9/10 bbs have at baseline, and most of them have spotter planes to even further their range. It is normal for me to fire a salvo at a broadside still ship max range and only get 1-2 hits. The ship is surprisingly tanky at long range, even the flight deck bounces a surprising number of shells. But the spotting the ship provides is subpar compared to a real cv due to lack of planes in the flight and their high flight speed. For most cruisers their spotting distance by air is about the same as their AA range so you get shredded when you spot them. As for DDs, any good DD player will turn off their AA so to spot them you have to be right on their head. The planes are fast enough that this becomes difficult to spot the DD for more than a brief second or two before trying to flip a uturn to keep spotting it. It’s a fun ship and I enjoy playing it, but at least in random battles it feels like it does less than I would hope. In ranked or clan battles, it has a great time. Idk, I only have about 120 matches with it so it’s not like I’m an expert.
What if they put in a tech tree for the premium and resource ships and you can see the next ship/s after you get the previous ship and get to a certain mastery level?

The Napoli is definitely a beast.
i think pommern is also a solid premium FDG hull with 4x3 380mm guns
also Sealord, whats your most loved premium ship?
Your opinions on the Hill ?
Not sure top five is enough as we still have things like; Pommern, Agir, Marco Polo, Salem, and GK to name a few.
Did you already do a video on top east to get captains?

well, i'd really think kearsarge should have it's place here though, it's strange, but if you know how to play it, it's fun( but mastering it is as hard as hell, so i know why it's not here www
Skill issue.
Her SAP secondaries are hitting hard not only to DD but against BB superstructures too
I use her like my Cherbourg in Operations.
Kearsarge, best money farmer and very fun. great income even without premium.
I was going to go for the Salem as my next coal ship... Now I'm debating the Napoli...
Both are fun to use, but DM and Salem are the same just with less gimmicks and a super heal. You should probably get Napoli and grind for the Des Moines
Love my Napoli! And every once in a while you can YOLO successfully
Sometimes I wish we had a BB with short and delayed fuse ao shells, as it's unique gimmick
Napoli is way fun... know what's way funner? Michaelangelo. I know it was a dockyard ship but geez... I've got mine built to over 70K HP at tier 9 and 10.5 Km SAP Secondaries. Monster ship...
How much is the baked in gold economy?
Black has different torpedoes, but they ain't anything like Bensons. They have 13.5 km range AFAIK are very slow, but hit hard and have technically deep water torpedo detection. Just to clarify there. 😊
I've found a lot of success with Black torpedoes
@@jamesfee1966 also known as sea mines. 😁
If i have a question on the game will you answer it pls
Got all but the black due mainly to its excessive cost!
ive been playing for 2 years now and am only on tier 8 (IJN) i think im just bad at the game :(
@@ninobixio6156 Same.
That´s probably cause you have a life, lol
i dont tho. i dont even find the game fun but im addicted@@PolluxPavonis
But what does that mean, playing for 2 years?
How many games have you played? Because you could've played 100 games, or you could've played 5000.
Mind you, if you get boosters and such, getting to tierX is very easy, I can get to TX from T6 in 2 days with blue boosters without issues.
ive played 4502 games so far@@taserrr
Just a note, the lack of a Cash price doesn't mean something is free. If you're playing the game in a manner different from what you'd normally play (such as putting in extra gaming hours), you're *working* for that ship, you are putting in your time and labor. Grinding 100 hours of playtime for a ship doesn't mean you got it for free, it means you worked 100 hours for it. Compare that to your paycheck and see what that ship is *actually* costing you.
You're not wrong, but tech tree ships can require a LOT of grinding to get to high tiers, and most people refer to those as "free" ships.
I've been doing great things with my Salem in clan battles
Good list.
Okay, that was Sea Lord's on crack top 5 FREE premium ships list, now here's the real Top 5 premium ships list:
Top Honorable mentions:
- Gato, yeah subs are the spawn of Satan but this is the best of them.
Only got Campbell one or sum tier 2 only just not unlocked my first tier 7
No Kearsarge?
Kearsarge is my favorite, very fun to play and most income due to high average xp per game, probably cos of extra spoting.
Where is the polmern?????
Did you just say you haven't ground to the fletcher yet???? SIR! Get yourself in gear(ing)!
I say Salem and Marceau are nice ships to pick up
Wargaming can afford to be a little more generous even though I was lucky enough to get Napoli B from a free Thanksgiving loot box but I've paid for everything else. I'm a casual player but I've been playing since 2016. The microtransactions here have spread like a cancer. WG can also respect the players' credits because the signals have ballooned in price and you absolutely need them to play ranked. I can't even afford to play my Annapolis.
Superships like Annapolis are designed to lose money.
If you weren't prepared for that, I can see why you're disappointed.
The Duke of Yuck is better than it was at the start.
Guess before watching:
Kearsarge
Marceau
Napoli
Bourgogne
Mecklenburg
No, Stalingrad?

Nothing and I mean absolutely nothing is worth the guaranteed Hypertensive Crisis I will suffer while playing ranked on the EU server. I would rather get skinned alive than playing ranked with the amount of lobotomized monkeys I get matched with in ranked.
You ever consider that you're playing a game? Even ranked is still a game. I play ranked to play in smaller teams, no double uptier. I'm not a gifted player and I don't aspire to get to gold league. Of course I like to win and I play to win but in the end it is still a game. If you ever see me playing like a monkey let me know and I will learn from your wisdom. Do it politely though. Nothing beats BNBR.
@@janboen1287 maybe your ranked experience is different than mine. I have a 59% win ratio in random battles and maybe half of that in ranked. Most of the time my team in ranked gets ROFL-Stomped into oblivion. I‘m a DD Main and I would say that I‘m a competent DD-Player, by far not perfect but competent. I do my job for the team, killing the enemy DDs, getting caps, do spotting for the team torping enemy ships, etc. But most of the time my team either refuses to work as a team, or wastes itself and ironically I mostly fight teams that work together.
@@finnm.2582 Started playing a year ago and am probably best described as an older player (just turned 60) I have played just over 1200 random games and am at 46% win rate. If you are really new and yeah kinda insight for CB if you planning to try it:
Mucho texto
Dont give a fk to what i said (well im nobody after all) if you just want play on random
Instead of Bourgogne, its better to get Stalingrad first.
Moskva rarely limited or banned which Nevsky the one mostly banned lmao
Napoli is really good for CB and ranked but for random sometimes its bad due to some condition and you get this ship after Moskva. You get tired in random this day if play secondary napoli and napoli highly will limited even banned
if you asking why not just grind Petro, Petro mostly limited even banned in CB similar with Napoli.
Tldr, i dont recommend what SLM recommended if you are new and wanted to do CB. Im not hater, just you know just give insight from player who played CB quite a lot. Well in the end, im just nobody and you can go whatever you want
I have Venezia and i like it, anyone can compare Napoli and Venezia pls?
I would get Bourgogne or Ohio before Napoli.
2 Business days but free shipping!
Agir belongs in the top 5
think Iwill save coal for th Napoli
hello
hi
Kearsarge is in top 5 its not even up for debate
It is a fun ship to play and I get consistent damage with it, but I feel like it lacks the potential to have huge battle impact like some of the others. Its planes are great against cruisers and certain battleships but nigh useless against a dd even remotely paying attention. Its main guns leave a lot to be desired with their subpar reload, limited range, and mediocre accuracy at long ranges. But still able to consistently pull 150 k per match and get a kill or two.
But it is also a freak as a hybrid BB.
Best money farmer, huge battle impact for sure with spoting, especially in non CV games.
Today wows feel like a second job so i play fortnite insted

What if they put in a tech tree for the premium and resource ships and you can see the next ship/s after you get the previous ship and get to a certain mastery level?

@@derickevans3025 it wouldn't fully cut down on the toxicity and spam, but it would help and give wargaming a way to organize things better. Except, they probably won't even see my post and listen to it. But, one can hope and imagine, eh?
