- Solar Cooking! This is a quick video our very first time using a solar cooker. This is our first purchase of a solar oven. We chose the locally made Haines 2 Solar Cooker.
Brian, Thank you so much for posting this wonderful video! I just saw it four months after you posted it and it is awesome! I cannot thank you enough!
Hey Brian, I recently watched the movie "Lionheart" that you acted in. You took a kick to the face from Jean-Claude Van Damme - damn!! You have a jaw of steel !
Good choice I love this solar cooker. Yes order from his website, watch for discounts, free shipping. Thanks for the review because I haven't made bread in mine yet, this was encouraging. 😊
Was randomly looking for reviews on this thing and realized it’s Brian Thompson! As an 80’s baby, I remember you from some of my favorite childhood movies.
Hey movie buffs, make sure you catch the soon to be released Macbeth, with Fran McDormand n Denzel, directed by Joel Coen
@@brianthompson5221 I'll be back😎
The bread looks amazing. I'd love the recipe your wife used. We have a solar oven but never tried bread.
Agreed! Recipe!

Awesome and bread looks delicious nice solar cooker😎
Wow that looks delicious.
Great presentation. Fun. And yes, Shari is pretty. Loved that sweet sentiment.
This is a great video, thank you for taking the time to make it and share it!
Fantastic video. Thank you. The bread looks perfect. Roger and I have been sharing solar cooking ideas for almost a decade. We have a display and do lectures every summer (except for this year-of course) at the San Diego County Fair at the Del Mar Racetrack.
Thank you for your review. Followed what you did and just bought directly from Haines with no shipping costs. Thank you again.
Mine just came in today. Your video helped solidify my decision!! About yo get my bread going!
Mine is supposed to arrive today. It is raining and tomorrow we will have a mix of sleet and snow so it may be a bit before I get to try it out. I'm excited about trying it out. I had never heard of the Haines one either but his videos inspired me to get one.
damn, Brain can make a whole video of just him doing his taxes and it would still be watchable. great guy 👍🏾
Let's Bake Pig!
PIG!
That's awesome!! I live about 50 miles south of Atlanta. It gets pretty hot here in the summer and I would love to try that.
lol didnt know u have YT im glad i found it
Thank you Brian! I've been looking into solar ovens for a while! Utah has some very intense sun year around. I'll have to look into this! Nice to see you on RUclips and you guys sound well. Thanks!💗Keep in touch on FB K? We always wonder how you and your family are doing. Take care🤗
I made Braciole in this and dang..DELISH! The sauce simmered beautifully!
Did you guys used less water with bread ? Because i heard you should use less water with solar ovens ?
I made a Copenhagen solar cooker, this week. So far, I have made potatoes in it, and yesterday, a homemade pepperoni (vegan), that came out so much better than making it in the conventional oven. Much, much better, actually. It took 3 hours in the solar cooker, and would have taken 45 minutes in the conventional oven, but that's ok! It was worth the wait! I'm looking forward to trying bread, next. How long did it take for your bread to bake in there?
Brian, alas that unique face was a curse and a blessing, you always seemed a skilled actor but your unique look meant you would mostly be cast as villians
Eu sou do brasil e gostei muito da sua atuacao do filME (COBRA OU SNAKE ) traga mais conteudo dos seus trabalhos .
Do you think the bread would have been taller if you had let it rise again before putting it on "to cook"? I'm just curious. It looked good.
Shari here...yes, I think an additional rise would have helped it get taller. Always tweaking the process. I also baked a cake in the solar oven that came out amazing, and recently cooked beets that I subsequently pickled...fun to try new dishes "under the sun."
Awesome! Are you still using it?
Yes
The recipe your wife used looks like it makes 3 loaves from Allrecipes. Did you just use "one loaf" of dough in the cooker? That would be helpful for me to know. Thanks!
Shari here. I split it into two loaves.... just refrigerated the other half til baking it a couple days later.
It looks flimsy though. Is that cardboard or plastic surround?
If your talking about the reflector, it is mylar coated plastic type rigid board. It is very light weight but fit for its purpose. Excellent for home use. If you need something rugged for travel or daily use, you will want a heavy metal reflector.
How long did it actually bake the bread? Thank you
It says 2 hours and 10 minutes.
Hello, are you still using your Solar Oven?
Yes, and it's holding up great
Very good video Yes hope Roger makes a lot of bread. Change the world ? No only the return of JESUS Christ. Yes your wife is very pretty 🤩. I see you played in a movie 🍿 good voice - you could sell anything
