    Jungle Jim’s is the theme park of grocery stores!

      As a child, I remember going to “jungle Jim’s”, but this WAS an indoor children’s amusement park! It is now permanently closed. By the looks of everything seen in the video, it looks like they repurposed some kiddie rides. I’m just going to believe that this is because Jungle Jim’s(amusement park) was so successful that it moved on to become the ultimate themed supermarket.

    • @justjeepin
      @justjeepin 5 лет назад +2

      AMINESTO Most of the rides are from King’s Island, Coney Island (Cincinnati), and Americana (aka LeSourdsville Lake).

      Danny Kidd, sure. Way to ruin the fun. I, PERSONALLY, am going to believe what I just said, for fun. FOR FUN TIMES SAKE. For fun times sake, i will believe my story. My story, the history I created for jungle Jim’s, is much more satisfying, and I’m sure everyone else would love to believe my story. You see, sometimes historical accuracy doesn’t matter. Sometimes, and I do mean sometimes, no one gives a fuck about the Wikipedia page for a supermarket, and before the internet, it would have been really fun to spread a rumor, for the children, like the one I came up with. The world is a much more wonderful place if you still believe in Santa.

      I agree. Like the leftist media for example. Great example of how spreading misinformation isnt fun. Perpetuating harmless children’s myths can actually be harmful for children with autism. But yeah, would you like to be right some more? I can fluff your ego all day.

    Fun fact: The monorail you see over the entrance was actually the one used at King's Island's Lion Country Safari. It sat abandoned for over twenty years until it was refurbished for Jungle Jim's.

      I've lived in Cincinnati my entire life and was Culinary Director at Jungle Jim's for a while. It is truly insane. Working there was the most fun I've ever had, by far. Sitting in the employee break room which is in a hidden 2nd floor room that looks out over the entire store in two directions, chatting with the guy who ran the INSANELY HUGE soda section, sipping on whatever sodas he wanted to try that day. My Korean grandma cook (we have cooks that demo food) would be eating some stinky, delicious kimchi a few chairs away from us. The cheese girls would come up in their lab-coat looking mocks. We'd talk cheese for a bit while they tried our sodas. Good times...

My mom would hand me a bunch of our knives and some money, and I'd run outside so he could sharpen them - and they'd wind up literally razor-sharp!!!!

      It's really an international grocery. They sell foods from around the world and get customers from all backgrounds and ethnicities. Its crazy how busy it gets there. If you can imagine a normal walmart supercenter on a Saturday, its normally twice as busy at that.

    Just watched the episode where you were sipping soda, and said "My wife thinks this stuff is going to be the death of me". Great job giving up soda!!! It's no good on a regular basis and obviously really unhealthy. I gave it up years ago and enjoy it maybe twice a year. When I do, it's VERY sweet and just enough to curb the need for soda for a long time.

      As you can compare, Lego's functionality system was sticking pieces together with force
      Playmobil's system of functioning is connecting pieces together with a snap or a click

    I have only been to this location once shortly after it opened. I think they have added quite a bit more decoration items since I was there. I've been to the original location quite a few times and it's always fun, my favorite thing to get there is the fresh salsa but they always have a lot of other great stuff. This is also one of the few places in Ohio I ever see Cheerwine and Ski sodas.

      Danny do you shop there often ? Hows the prices would you say fair, expensive or just right ?

    • @justjeepin
      @justjeepin 5 лет назад

      Thanos I go maybe every couple months. I think more expensive than Kroger or Meijer BUT they have stuff you can’t get anywhere else. It’s worth checking it out.

      Thanos They have a huge Beer & Wine section. I’m not much of a drinker but I do go occasionally to buy single bottles (biggest selection other than The Party Source) of beer to try.
      I also occasionally get some of the specialty pop/soda. The Flying Cauldron pop is a butterscotch pop that’s the exact same as the Butterbeer at the Harry Potter park in Universal Studios Orlando, they make if for them.
      They also have a huge selection of flavored syrups for coffee. Pumpkin Spice, etc.
      And then of course they have a section for just about every ethnic group you could think of. I’ve been wanting to maybe once a month have a dinner from a different group (Japanese, Mexican, British, Ethiopian, etc).

    If you got the time and gas for it, you ought to head to eastern Ohio and visit the town where they filmed Children of the Corn. Can't remember the name of it, but it's easy to find out.

      You probably wouldn't. It's too expensive to do weekly grocery shopping at. It's the kind of place you go to when you look for a special item. Then on the way home you hit up Kroger for most of your groceries.
