OMG! you are the MAN! I have two synths, a Roland XP-30 and an Alesis QS8.1 that both have major expansion add-ons, so I certainly don't lack sufficient sounds; it has been a case of what to do with all this stuff, because basically all I use is the stock sounds, which get the job done, but nothing like the sort of parts that I can imagine in my head. Thank you for yet another brilliant and informative video...they are greatly appreciated.
I came here because I'm trying to learn "In Over My Head" by Bethel. I have a Casio keyboard and I found the closest bell sound as the marimba percussion number 98. I don't have a synth pedal so I was looking for a synth setting on my existing keyboard. Sounds like I may need a pedal attachment? PS you are really talented!
This is good, and you should do more. There isn't much talk or videos about how to use all the bells and whistles of the equipment in a musical context. You can talk about velocity sensing to add sound layer, breath controllers for realistic attacks, useful layer and split setups, etc.
Thank you very much! It depends on what keyboard you are using. There are usually "assign" features on keyboards. The manual that is specific to your model of keyboard would your best resource for that information. Thanks for watching, and feel free to check out the other synth keyboard tips.
+Beng EEE There are two different models Korg EXP-2: www.korg.com/us/products/accessories/exp_2/ Korg XVP-10: www.korg.com/us/products/accessories/xvp_10/ Peter is using the Korg EXP-2 in this video
+Dynamite Kid Kurzweil PC3K8 has the capability to do this - the pedal required is a called a CC-I. We recommend checking with Kurzweil directly! kurzweil.com
Nice vid! Thanks. Can you perhaps go into a little more detail about how you assign the controllers to things like filter cutoff? Would be greatly appreciated:) Nice playing too!

I will try it again I went out and bought one after seeing your video. It may be a little tricky to get it to work as I spent about an hour changing the settings but never hear anything change when using it. I have 3 connections on the back of the keyboard and like 5 or 6 on the pedal. The manuals are like some of the emails I get from folks not ever giving you a real answer to the question in hand leaving you scratching your head going hum. It does make a great cowbell thus far I can tell you that much. I'll give it another shot and see if it will do anything for 150.00. Great video showing one working though. It is at the studio or I would tell you what plugs I have not even sure if the are balanced or mono. The pedal manual is horrible. What are the jacks you have yours plugged into state on them and are they mono or balanced? Just curious before I waste more time on it.
so like i after 5 years finally figured out how to play anything decent and original on a synth ....solution .download as much cracked shit as u can and practise like fuck every day for about an hour ,learn what sound every key makes ,maybe copy a few synth lines and improvise them ..fuck with them basically .make a few tunes that u like and KEEP PLAYING em over and over again .dont even try playing something you dont know as you are wasting time.only play what u know and keep doing it and suddenly after 4..5 years everything will start to click into place its like driving a car.
important ...when u upload shit on the net or start making money .have the decency to buy all ur cracked shit or basically your walking round with shit in ur pants and u own NOTHING that u used ur cracked shit to make👍
yep. and you getting fussy about that is like a Michigan State fan refusing to save a drowning person just because they have on a blue and yellow shirt. Besides, maybe he already HAS a workstation he uses and his Kronos IS nothing but a synth.

The man is a true over achiever!!
What kind of pad is at 3:11 ? It sounds a lot like the one in the song "Miss Atomic Bomb" by The Killers.
1:24 this man is a savage synth player, he just went from amazing synth playing to “here’s what’s happening”
Just awesome

If it's a real synth used as a synth it can not sound like a piano or strings ... you only used it as a Midi-interface I guess.
Is a FM synth a synth? Because a FM synth can sound like almost anything if you know how to modulate the wave.
I agree to pay your fees
this guys hair lol
