This is the original teaser trailer for "Freddy vs. Jason" released in 1997 by New Line Cinema. Yes, the film wasn't made until 2003, but that didn't stop New Line from wanting to promote/market this highly-anticipated movie event a little early. Two of the biggest horror icons in cinematic history facing off against each other. As this teaser put it, it's (or rather, it was) "the fight of the century" and "the showdown of the millennium." Yeah as they hadn't shot any footage yet. Basically this was made when New Line thought they were near starting production...which wouldn't start for another 5 years.

Really nice teaser if you ask me. Man, New Line after getting Jason rights were like "Now that we have Jason, WE CAN FINALLY MAKE A FREDDY VS JASON EVERYONE ASKED FOR!!!!" Also they stole music from Mortal Kombat 1995. LOL
