The reason why Freddie despite having less kills than say Jason or Michael, is that his kills were so creative. He could do pretty much anything with them in their dream and they would die a similar way in real life. Also, he loved playing with his victims. He had dialogue.
The CGI one looks way better. But the CGI version of Freddy inside the wall above Nancy's bed is a joke in the remake and a very effective practical effect in the original.
Forever Cool :) It's the 80s. Cold autumn Friday night. You're in the basement watching an Elm Street movie. The smell of fresh popcorn filling the house. The soft glow of the Commodore 64 in the background. Transformers and G.I. Joe toys on the floor between the couch and the TV. Parent upstairs watching Miami Vice. HEAVEN :)
I caught The Dream Master on TV not too long ago and that cockroach death scene is one of the best ones in the whole series. A lot of the nightmares are surreal but almost none of them actually take someone's everyday kind of fear and use it against them. Being turned into a cockroach and being surrounded by them is fucking terrifying.
A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge (1985) A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988) A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (1989) Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991)
Seriously don’t know what the point of all that was! We didn’t need you to list each movie. I mean, did you just learn how to read and write? If so then that’s very good! We’re all so proud of you! ::rolls eyes::
Wes Craven took horror to new heights with Freddy Krueger then he did it again with Scream in the 90s. He gave us two iconic horror characters. R.i.p Wes Craven
My favorite slasher series as well actually. I always felt the filmmakers were free to be more creative with their shots and visuals more than most other films at the time.
Just had myself a Nightmare on Elm Street Marathon and no matter how crazy and weird these movies get, they're so much fun and CREATIVE! That's what has always struck me in a good way about this whole franchise! Their villain is the dream demon! He can do anything, be anyone, go anywhere, make portals from this world to the dream world. It's all fun and creative and I'm glad the filmmakers of each sequel took their chance to use the idea to its fullest potential, no matter how crazy they get! Now, "Nightmare on Elm Street 6: Freddy's Dead" is a crazy movie with wacko scenes filled with fantasy fun and terror! I mean you got Freddy in a tornado pretending to be the wicked witch of the West 😂 and then you got all the neato flashback scenes with Krueger in his human form with his wife and daughter, you also get absurd dream sequences with the other characters not to mention the iconic video game scene that a young Breckin Meyer NAILED! Blood pouring out of a TV screen! Besides crazy elements like that, "Freddy's Dead" still stood strong on the chill factor especially when you got to see Freddy's past. Not only that but the entire concept of the dream demons giving Freddy full power before his death was a nice little touch too. Totally cheesy at times but the idea was cool and how he was strong enough to open portals between this world and the dream world and not only kill his victims but ERASE them from memory! Some nice elements in this movie and some fun cheesy classic Grade B horror scenes and a total blast from Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger once again! It's ridiculous, it's funny, it's creepy, and sometimes it shows you that Freddy's biggest treat is finding out what scares you in your head. Performances by Lisa Zane, Lezlie Dean, Yaphett Kotto, and Breckin Meyer were STELLAR in this movie and of course Robert Englund in his sixth role as Freddy Krueger for the film franchise. The only thing I wish about "Freddy's Dead" was that it was longer and maybe went even deeper into some aspects. But still holds up as a classic to this day along with all the other original 6 movies in the franchise.
The nightmare series is great, it's awesome to see a fellow fan appreciate it as much as I do. I loved your guy's commentary on the original, I listen to it every now and again. Kept up the hilarious work!
Kudos to you for taking the time to do this, man. I had a VHS of Freddy's Dead that I recorded from TV when I was a kid, and would rewind and watch the credits over and over. Loved this movie. Loved this song. Got me into punk rock. Funny side note, while the film on TV was pretty edited, the credits were not. So the shot of Linnea Quigley's breasts writhing under Freddy's skin was broadcast on basic TV. I've said enough now. Thanks again for the post!
Great work! It's been too long since I've seen Freddy's Dead that I barely remember the movie. These clips are indeed a great collection of all the creativity seen throughout the series. I'm not necessarily one for slasher flicks, but one reason why I personally like NoES is because it takes place in dreams, where IMHO a writer/screenwriter can be most creative so long as the opportunity isn't wasted, or the budget allows for it, etc.. In more realistic movies, unless you know what you're doing, you can't really get away with surreality. Though, horror tends to be more of an exception, which is why it's my favourite genre. Anyway, thanks for this enjoyable upload.
lazyrmc actually the franchise ended with part 6 Freddys dead the final nightmare Wes Craven's new nightmare was set in a different universe Freddy Vs Jason was just a crossover and the remake didn't count
wow! what a lot of hard work! I've been in the same boat since I was in 5th grade (I'm 36 now) and I can't thank you enough for reconstructing this!!!!
makes sense that they would use alternate takes for the montage - if for no other reason than to not have to spend money on dupe negs for shots already spliced into the film. One of the considerations when editing with original negative the ol school way.
Neat, I haven't seen this in a long, long time because I just don't watch Freddy's Dead all that often anymore but I do remember enjoying the montage. I'm not as big a fan of Nightmare as a franchise as you are Jay but I do think it's consistently the best of the "big three" franchises all the same. Largely because it often focused less on cheap gore thrills and sex and more on surrealist imagery. Sure some of it's goofy...but I defy anybody to find a single scene in any of the Friday The 13th or Halloween films that has the visual flare and imagination of the black and white comic book set from Nightmare 5. Nightmare 5 being the absolute most underrated film in the entirety of the Nightmare series, btw.
the best thing about this montage is that it makes Dream Master and Dream Child look like good movies lol everyone says Freddy's Dead is the worst. I'd say it's the best of the 3 worst. My marathon always goes Original, Revenge, Dream Warriors, Freddy's Dead and New Nightmare. If I want more I'll chuck on Freddy vs Jason. The cliffhanger in 3 leaves it open enough to understand Freddy is still a threat and 6 opens with an explanation of all the kids being picked off by Freddy over the years, I don't need 2 bad movies to get me to that conclusion. One bad movie is enough esp when it's the least flawed of those 3. MAYBE 4 would be for me if they got Patricia to come back but Tuesday doesn't work for me nor does Freddy's revival work for me. Ranking list. 1. A Nightmare On Elm Street 2. A Nightmare On Elm Street 3 Dream Warriors 3. Wes Craven's New Nightmare 4. A Nightmare On Elm Street 2 Freddy's Revenge 5. Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare 6. Freddy Vs Jason 7. A Nightmare On Elm Street 4 The Dream Master 8. A Nightmare On Elm Street 5 The Dream Child 9. the unwatchable remake
You did amazingly well, great effort! I did something similar with a Bruce Lee montage years ago... from SD to HD and all the little edits, matching stuff up... takes ages! Love the video!
This is SOOO much lighter and clearer than what it looks like on the blu-ray collection. You can barely see this part of Freddy’s dead on the Blu-ray Disc. A lot of the films were either too dark or the color was off. I really hope these films look a lot better if they get around to putting them on 4K Ultra Blu-ray Discs.
Only found this channel yesterday, thought it was abandoned but subscribed anyway. You should do more vlogs and at least mention this exists on the RLM channel.
While I never enjoyed the films past part 3 up to 6. This end credits sequence is fantastic! Great tribute to Freddy who then had a great spin off film, a really fun Crossover and a decent remake
My favorite part of Freddy's Dead has always been the End Credits montage. Which says enough about the movie.
I totally agree.
Man, these movies are so cool.
the best to do it
@@zackearl3200 i wish freddy and jason bring come back in this year 2024

This is oddly soothing. Not enough burned pedophile ghost movies these days.

I always laugh when the mom gets grabbed and pulled through the window of the door, it just looks so cheesy
+ATH Worst thing is that the CGI version from the 2010 reboot looks even more fake.
I find it pretty scary in the context of that film.
The CGI one looks way better. But the CGI version of Freddy inside the wall above Nancy's bed is a joke in the remake and a very effective practical effect in the original.
A Diversion are you high? The CGI version looks a million times better. But they still aren’t perfect effects

Damn, finding all the right clips must've taken ages. Really nice work, just need a version with the credits now
This was the end of Freddy's dead..he didn't make this personally
@@rmc4real248 Look the credits, only half screen is seen. So he really did all job again.
My favorite kill was when Freddy turned that kid into a plate of ice cubes and a candle. Great practical effects.
Freddy is the key to all this, if we get him working cause he's a funnier character than we have gotten in the slasher genre
My favorite slasher series as well actually. I always felt the filmmakers were free to be more creative with their shots and visuals more than most other films at the time.
