I recorded this on vhs in secret at age 11. I will never forget the feeling of starting the tape over and seeing this intro all those nights that summer.
This is forever embedded into my memory. I've seen this intro so many times, its like it awakens who I used to be back then when I was a kid. I watched this on VHS more times than I can count
I like how this still has the leftover 80s feel, but a touch of the beginning of the 90s mixed in. I always liked that combo and I'm one of the rare Freddy fans who likes this movie. Jason goes to Hell has the full on 90's feel.
Agreed. 1990-1991 was more like a continuation of mid to late 80s fashions and sounds. It made sense because you were just barely out of the 80s. It’s much like how much of 2000-2001 still had a lot of 90s feels to songs and fashions.
This intro is fun. It very clearly reflects (but embraces) the fact that Freddy at this point in the series had become a funny character and not scary anymore. Having said that, the faint sounds of children laughing in the background of “I’m awake now” has always (to me) come off unsettling. It gives off evil vibes.
Same here! Then I got the soundtrack and the song didn't fade out like it did in the movie and kept going for 3 more minutes. 😅 I was simultaneously happy to get more of the song, but disappointed because I loved how it sounded here.
HBO in 92 played this regularly. I'd grab the guide to see when it'd air, and watch this intro. So good. I mean playing I'm awake now over one another adds much dimension, then the knife and thunder sound at the end getting you juiced for the show. Special
I used to rent this movie all the time as a kid, and this intro was badass! I also always loved the part when that kid is tripping to "In a Gadda da Vida" 😎
DESDE QUE VI LA PELICULA QUISE SABER CÓMO SE LLAMABA ÉSTA CANCION Y HASTA AHORA LO PUDE SABER, TREMENDO INTRO CON LAS RISAS DE LOS NIÑOS DE FONDO Y ÉSTA CANCIÓN QUE QUEDÓ MAGNÍFICA!
I knew when I was young, and saw this movie that I loved the intro song - and wouldn't discover until they hit it big on radio around '95 with "Name", that the Goo Goo Dolls performed this song, and that they had a back catalogue of albums, prior to A Boy Named Goo... I would come to collect them all.
This is such a badass intro , the song rocks and it has a vibe to it , this movie isnt very good but damn i loved this intro as a scene and i love it more so now as an adult :)
They dont make movies like these anymore.freddy, jason, michael myers and somany more 80s and 90s horror movies!freddy scared the crap out of me he is a boogyman!
Yeah and Wes craven passing away the movie industry has taken a big tole during that mourn of Wes craven R.I.P Wes craven 1934 - 2015 Thank u for the incredible entertainment of horror movies horror movies weren't horror movies without u
people say it was a big rush it had no big rush first of the editing was supposed to be bad because in this movie freddy brings out his inner slef in one or two he was not a joker in the rest a little but this one alot so give this one credit oh yeah the editing was a joke it wasnt a coinsidince they wanted to make this one fiunnier and they did a great job on this one plus the music is good but the intro should of been longer
Did You Know That Brian May From Queen Make the Rock Songs in The Movie I Didt,n Know it For a Long Time and I was Very suprised that Brian Makes Song,s For The Movie
I recorded this on vhs in secret at age 11. I will never forget the feeling of starting the tape over and seeing this intro all those nights that summer.
that just made me so nostalgic 🥺
This is forever embedded into my memory. I've seen this intro so many times, its like it awakens who I used to be back then when I was a kid. I watched this on VHS more times than I can count
Always liked that intro very much.
quantiquefilms 0:04-0:09 me too.

💯 Damn straight and how I miss them badly especially with todays society
Good analysis
100% agreed. Freddy's Dead feels like the end of the 80s - all of it.
I feel you on this!

the intro gets me hype everytime i see this movie wish more movies had intros like this
Kimberly Ramos Those days are long gone
And that makes me so damn sad :(
lol even tho i know this not a great NOES movie it still does get me hyped too lmao
That fade when he says “I’m awake now” gives me chills.
Para mi suena épico
Every Time 💯
This is why I love this movie especially the intro
i think he says awake not, and yes it gives me chills alos
as much as i hate the movie, this intro gives me absolute CHILLS. the way they extend Goo Goo Dolls song with the children laughing is just so good.
Nah fr this intro was awesome , def my favorite out of all the nightmare movies ..... to bad the movie isn't good 😂
Best intro of the series to me, hands down!!!
Wrong. "Running from this Nightmare" is better but this is the 2nd best intro!
Idkkkkkk the OG 84 Nightmare intro is pretty Metal too
This may be not anyone’s favorite movie, but I think we can all agree that this intro rules!!!
this may be the absolute hardest opening to a film of all time

Remember when I saw this in the theaters. I got chills when this intro played.

@@serialcarpinsyeah, the fade out was part of what I loved about this intro too. Never even tried to listen to the entire song. 😂

This intro, and the ones from Feddys Revenge and Dream Warriors are my favorites from the saga, they are just excelent and creepy at the same time...
Freddys Revenge has a terrible bland intro. NOES4 has a great intro and you didn't even mentioned it. You meantioned NOEs2 instead, haahahahaha.
One of the best intros
The beginning music kind of gives you that " alright this is it... Final nightmare" type feeling
Every time I watch this I rewind the intro to hear the song
New Line Cinema at it's finest!!!
💀
My all time favorite movie intro. Love the letter drop fx! Hits so hard!
Best intro in the original series imo
one of my favourite intros ever made! ^^
Goo Goo Dolls: I'm awake now
Man i got to watch this series again.
I used to rent this movie all the time as a kid, and this intro was badass! I also always loved the part when that kid is tripping to "In a Gadda da Vida" 😎
The ending of this intro!!! Gaaaaaahhhh
This intro will always be a favorite. Its my number 2 un the series. #1 for me is the intro to part 4: the dream master 💯🔥✊🏿
DESDE QUE VI LA PELICULA QUISE SABER CÓMO SE LLAMABA ÉSTA CANCION Y HASTA AHORA LO PUDE SABER, TREMENDO INTRO CON LAS RISAS DE LOS NIÑOS DE FONDO Y ÉSTA CANCIÓN QUE QUEDÓ MAGNÍFICA!

I miss the old New Line Cinema intro so much.
Best editing combo with music to open a film in the series 🎉. Kudos
I like the New Line Cinema Logo intro.
Mike Anderson the original logo was in the first three movies always had more of a horror look to it
Mike Anderson 0:03-0:08 me too. And, I recognized this old logo from 8 seconds.
Bad ass intro
My ringtone will be the first 30 seconds
I actually have this as my ringtone.
Movies back then just hit different
This intro always reminds me that this is the end of Freddy’s reign of terror
part 4 & part 6 have the best intros, both songs matched perfectly
I love these movies..
This is such a badass intro , the song rocks and it has a vibe to it , this movie isnt very good but damn i loved this intro as a scene and i love it more so now as an adult :)
The best intro!!! I love it out of all the franchises
Great intro :)
part 4 and 6 are my favorites
I love that theme song rock and roll I miss Freddy Krueger
Éxitos en todo. Es lo más. Poderoso

2023. Evil never dies
Wow it's amazing intro
I remember when this came out N 3D N 1991 N theaters!!!
Thatz fucking awsome
@mikeanderson Only the last 10 minutes was in 3D, not the whole movie.
There’s something about the NLC logo flying in with music playing on so many movies…
R.I.P Wes cracen
*wes craven, and he's not dead tf
Yeah he is. He died August 30th 2015.
Doomguy how did he died?
Is it just me or does the kids laughing make it that more creepy lol
Impeccable intro.
The 90s ❤ my decade ❤
nice freddy's dead : the final nightmare - (1991 ) - film - intro !!!!
I really like this song with this intro.
the music kind of tells you " this is truly it. the finale."
The whole movie was Bad-Ass N 3D!!!!
This episode, episode 3 and 4 have the best intros.
Such a powerful intro
Yes one of my fav intros ever as well! Gives me goosebumps, also bram stockers dracula ha a good intro with song
say what you will about this movie, but the soundtrack was flames.
The Goo Goo Dolls are amazing
The best of the movie.
Que bonita intro siempre me gusta las películas de frendy y sus intros
The New Line Cinema Logo was Bad-Ass N 3D!!!!
@mikeanderson Only the last 10 minutes was in 3D, not the whole movie.
i miss this. after freddy vs. jason, i lost hope that any movies after this would be any good. suprising that i was right.
Freddy vs Jason was pretty darn good
They dont make movies like these anymore.freddy, jason, michael myers and somany more 80s and 90s horror movies!freddy scared the crap out of me he is a boogyman!
Yeah and Wes craven passing away the movie industry has taken a big tole during that mourn of Wes craven
R.I.P
Wes craven
1934 - 2015
Thank u for the incredible entertainment of horror movies horror movies weren't horror movies without u
They don't make good intros these days. 80-s and 90-s were way superior in this regard.
Best intro - for Halloween it’s 4 Friday it’s the final chapter
0:03-0:08 they should’ve kept the 1987 new line logo on digital.
This intro is 1 of tha baddest Fuckin intros 4 New Line Cinema!!!!
Bad arse.
Epic Movie
Noticed that the upload date was around the 20th anniversary of this film.
Pesadillas 6 tiene una de las mejores intros junto con pesadilla 4
in the german dub, you can hear freddy saying, welcome to prime time bitch
The Goo Goo Dolls - I'm Awake Now
Love Freddy's Dead and always thought the intro rocked.
Very under-rated movie and was a big improvement on parts 4 and 5 in my opinion.
Wish they would have just kept this original classic New Line Cinema logo on the Blu Ray set instead of remastering it.
Видел ли ты страх засыпающих, Ужас, что пронзает до пят, Ибо земля под ними разверглась. И начинается сон... (с) "Фридрих Нитцше".
This music shouldn't been the end credits song not the opening. It's hype but the lyrics just make more sense for it to be an ending.
New Line Cinema went with tha Nightmare On Elm Street series!!!
“A Nightmare on Elm Street, Part VI”
I mean not really because the majority of it does not take place on Elm Street.
I'm Awake Now by the Goo Goo Dolls.
😍
This is missing the entire intro with the house in the tornado.
people say it was a big rush it had no big rush first of the editing was supposed to be bad because in this movie freddy brings out his inner slef in one or two he was not a joker in the rest a little but this one alot so give this one credit oh yeah the editing was a joke it wasnt a coinsidince they wanted to make this one fiunnier and they did a great job on this one plus the music is good but the intro should of been longer
And it went downhill after this great opening
It was Fuckin Bad-Ass!!!!
Did You Know That Brian May From Queen Make the Rock Songs in The Movie I Didt,n Know it For a Long Time and I was Very suprised that Brian Makes Song,s For The Movie
The intro goes HARD. Too bad the actual movie sucks.
Oh it's not so bad
Thus Spake Krueger :)
It just goes downhill after the intro doesn't it.....
Yes
I see what you did there
What's the name of this sound track?
Such a great intro for such a mid movie.
Seriously though. Nietzsche's quote there is really chilling, imo.
The first 30 seconds remind me of a silent hill entrance
This is your brain.......THIS IS YOUR BRAIN ON DRUGS....................question's?? BAM!
bon appetite B***H
Im awake no-goo goo dolls
