just came back from an exam and one of the questions was how I personally define art (oral english exam, they just wanted to know how well i speak) and i defined it pretty much exactly like this. The examiner looked at me the entire time like i'm insane....I'm glad at least you understand me, random internet stranger
We always come crawling back to art. It is inevitable from the dawn of humanity we have created and we continue to create. From that pufferfish that draws on sand to attract a mate we have always beeded art. Art and those who make it is what keeps nihilism from taking over everything and everyone it is what makes us be ok in such an absurd reality
I’ve never been more touched by a single video in my life, and I’m not even going into art! Just the idea that what I do in life whether science, art, math, or other, values. That message alone is what is most important for me to take away. Thank you.
Thanks.. I think I needed it after 10 years of working with "nothing to show" since I'm a game dev, solo (hard to gather teams when there's no budget), I had to be the team but that also meant I have limited energy/time to polish things in every field, at least to show them, so I mainly focused on experimenting, learning, and trying over instead of polishing. games take long, especially the type I want to make, by long I mean 1 character takes 2 weeks- 2months, they need as much work on their animation, and the visuals are most of the time, the last stage in game dev. most complained why am I not "starting simple" or "starting with 2D games" I looked into both, even tried the simple bit, but 2D requires a different skillset, and there's a limit to how much I can simplify. I like 3D characters, Action combat, and this one is rare outside select few games and some gachas, it's my choice, I don't regret anything, but not gonna lie, it is hard enough when I'm fighting everyone. so once again, thank you.
@@blearoyd Glad to have your support! (sorry for the late reply), the video helped me recharge, and hopefully I'll have something soon, not the game but trying to finish a short movie alongside it. Respect, man.
I mean none of that really proved art is necessary was just ad hominem. Though to be honest very limited things are necessary many wants are almost as important as needs.

This is poetry. In your defense you made exactly what you sought to praise. Art. I love this!
