I know! I bet you had the same thought at the end too Evie 😉 those cut pieces might not fuse together, but you could make shapes and/or french, etc. with them!
We have these in Korea for just a few bucks btw but IT LITERALLY SAYS on the back to cut them down before you cure!!😂 I have no idea why they're misrepresenting themselves like that..

These stickers are not meant to be used to extend nails. They are, after all made of gel polish, and are meant to only provide nice design in a short time. No matter how long you cure gel polish, it is not meant to get as hard as gel.
I demand (request really) a beginner’s session from David for every new thing you try because you make it look so easy and I always wonder how hard it is to start hahah
David did so good! I’ve always been intimidated by e-files but after seeing David use that file like a pro even though he’s never used one before has given me the confidence to try one! Thank you Emily and David!
David is a cutie! Reminds me of my husband, up for anything. My husband is 63 and we have been married for 45 years (high school couple). I wanted to thank you, Emily. I have been doing my own nails for about 9 months. I found you recently and you are such a help! I have been binge-watching your videos! I have learned so much! Thank you so much!💚
My husband is as well. I bought the magnetic stands & everything I need to paint my own press on nails & he's almost as excited as I am 😉 thinking of all the cool designs he can paint on them 😀 & he'll test my colors on his thumb to see how long they'll last or what have you 😉❤ we've been together for 32 yrs (19 & 20 when we got together) I hope we live to see our 60th 💕❤💕
These stickers aren't meant to replace acrylic nails. They are only nail polish with cute designs. They are basically off brand color street nail polish stickers. If you want longer nails, you would still need to have acrylics glued to your nail first or dip nails then use these stickers as quick, easy nail polish application!
The dashing diva gel stickers are awesome! I do a lot of crafting and work with my hands and they last 2 weeks and are hard. Also not meant to stick beyond nail.
Was just about to mention dashing diva! Been using their hardening gel line and I absolutely love them! I did try other brands but they are just superior
Same here. I like the Ohora brand. Had some last for 16 days before I finally got annoyed by the growth and had to soak them off. They popped off and were still rigid after soaking.
They all look like the uncured sticker when they're peeling them off in their removal vids, not the hardened cured gel that sounds hard when they clip them after curing
Just wanted to come and say that the sticky back is actually a medical grade adhesive and that's why it remains sticky, not uncured gel. If you use a non acetone nail polish remover, the sticky will come off without melting the actual gel layer. 😊 Hope that helps.
Your husband is the best ❤ miss my hubby so much 😢he passed August of 2019 and he used to let me do whatever to him❤ he was the best hubby of 14years and together for 19 and father ....but you are blessed with a supportive hubby. Great video as always stay healthy, happy and blessed😊
See before putting on any nail stickers like these, I use a hairdryer or a heat lamp on them as it makes the sticker softer and more flexible for stretching (if needed). They make the application far far easier. And as for cutting the sticker so it fits the nail, yeh that can be done or the other option is bend it over the tip of the nails whilst the stickers are soft and then set them with UV lamp. Once that’s done, file the tips downwards to get the excess nail sticker off. It leaves it far more neater and professional looking x
I’ve tried ohora gel stickers and those got super hard. They were also matte?? I think they sold a top coat you could use as well with it. I was honestly confused lol. but I felt like they weren’t curing right at first so I cured them a bit more and they definitely got hard. But then they chipped like crazy and I hated that. I’m pretty sure I over cured them, which I didn’t think was a thing. I have long nails naturally and thought it would be a nice easy option, but they were a HARD PASS from me.
I’ve bought a few gel stickers with different designs from ohora before that were glossy and shiny. Maybe you bought a matte design? Mine definitely hardened and were mostly durable, but they did chip and lasted about a week.
Those gel polish stickers are good for long natural nails or extensions for someone who doesn’t want to put extra effort for designs etc.. I think. At least, I would use them that way 😅 like how David does 😆
I’ve been wondering about this company! I’ve been using Ohora semi cured nail stickers for a couples years now! With those I’m able to extend a couple centimeters, but I also use a gel top coat on top and bottom (to get rid of that sticky part and to harden the nail). I definitely think these are targeted for a specific type of person who isn’t as skilled with all the different nail products out there. Thanks for the honest review! I appreciate it!
I've used a similar product from the brand Dashing Diva, My sister sent me the tiktok ad for that other brand and I had to explain to her that it was basically an alternative to using a gel polish.
They seem to be soft gel and soft gel will never cure fully rigid. They are always pliable. Even if you fully cured gel polish, it will be flexible after curing.
@@EmilySusanah these companies just exaggerate like crazy. They were probably over a strong healthy natural nail or a very thin nail extension. The lies, girl! The lies 🤣🤣
stretching decals means as they dry out they pull/conttract on your nail or on the false nail. all decals require a clear top coat to set and cure to be dry and last
I haven’t made it to the end of the video yet but wanted to comment in case it’s not mentioned later that it’s not the strength of the lamp that matters, each gel is formulated to cure with certain wavelengths. Not every lamp is calibrated to cure every gel fully.
That’s so interesting! I’ve never heard about that, only uv vs led & their strengths. Do you have any examples or know any places I can read more about that??
@Dani you are correct. I remember when gel enhancements first came out that was the main issue with them because every company was making different formulas. We used to have different types of lamps to cure different types of gels. Today there is more consistency among gel products. As someone who has followed gel nail trends in all iterations over the years, the technology has come a long way. That being I don’t think these nails enhancements were meant to be rock hard. That would require a hard gel which would not be that flexible even if it were partially cured.
@@EmilySusanah I read a paper on it like a year or so ago and I’m not sure where I saved it, but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen industry scientists like Jim from Light Elegance, Marian Newman and Doug Schoon all discuss the science behind it.
David actually gave me ideas with his little experiment at the end 😉💕 Interesting product but might be best used for decorating instead of full coverage
First off: I need you to make a million more videos because I've watched almost all of them and don't know what I'm gonna do when I run out 2: What lipgloss do you use?? You're probably asked all the time, but it's always bomb!
Have you heard of the brand dashing diva? It’s another brand that does gel nail stickers. I used them when I did my gel x nails on top of the extensions, top coated it and cured. I think they kinda of cured hard, I remember correctly, and they lasted 2 1/2 weeks. So I think gel nail stickers are better on top of extensions rather than them being the extensions. Thank you so much for the vids and the longer videos 🥰❤️
I love the dashing diva nail stickers! Both types! For the gel I left them a tiny bit longer than my nails and it cured hard, then filed it down to my nails after. They lasted me 3 weeks but the cuticle part would get stuck on things so I’d take them off with oil. Also putting gel top coat makes them last even longer!
I exclusively use these nail stickers to do my nails. My nails grow pretty long and strong but I always put a base and gel topcoat on top to make them stronger. I'm guessing that the tiktok you saw had a gel topcoat on top of the sticker.
Can you try to put a clear jell top coat on to see if they can be extended that way? I’m just curious if that would harden it and make the bottoms not sticky.
The Dashing Give semi cured strips from Sally’s are awesome. I’ve had mine on for almost 3 weeks. They’re pretty strong and the regular sticker ones are pretty good too. They even say to cut it before curing.
i appreciate you using youtube shorts as i do not have any other socials due to stress i cant handle news feeds or drama. youtube shorts are safe for me. thank you💖
I have some of these nails from the Jelcie brand and now I want to try to see if mine will get super hard! 😅 I was hoping you would test one nail applying a gel top coat and see if that makes a difference. I'm going to have to do some experimenting! Hahaha! This was fun to watch though! Thanks for sharing! ♥ Jenny
I was just going to ask her to try Jelcie to see how they compare. How are Jelcie nails??? They look pretty good from the shorts and reels I have seen.
Thanks for this balanced and detailed review. I ordered some of these but have not tried them yet. I think I am better equipped to get the best result possible now that I have seen your examples and demos.
These stickers are only to protect your nails from breaking, also helps with stop biting the tips of your nails, and overal for sensitive and maybe folded nails, they are only to protect and not for nail extensor, so you basicly only need the UV light to fix them on your nails not to make them harder, you cut it the sama size of your natural nails and cure it, i used it but i didnt have a good UV light so it only lasted about 1 week without some starting to fall off. Thanks for reading❤
I’m so glad I saw this, I tried to buy these last night but my phone froze at the checkout and I never finished it!! Your channel has saved my more then once!! You always have such real reviews and real fails that I’ve learned from!
The tiktok video is illegal advertising. A company cannot show a product performing in a way that its impossible for it to, even if they say "not recommended." Those stickers will never cure stiff on their own, so they intentionally did something else in the tiktok ad without disclosing it - which is not ok. Its genuinely a crime. So whatever backlash they receive for that ad, they deserve.
Your makeup looks sooooooo pretty today!!! Not sure of you did any thing different. But you just look so beautiful today. Your eyes are so mesmorizing!
Aww, David did a great job! I feel like I would have the same issue as him and just pick these off in a couple days😅 I'm also really confused why the brand would've posted that video since I feel like, without that video, it would be understood that these are just meant to be like gel polish, not a hard curing tip. Such a weird decision on their part!🤔
Not weird. It's false advertising. They say they do one thing that no other product does. A bunch of people buy it for that reason, then people make videos about the product not working as advertised, "But hey! It still works as nail polish!" So then people see it and buy it for easy nail polish designs.
I got them I love them. I cut them down to my nail length as I have brittle nails and use them to protect my nails from splitting or breaking and it works great. The last about 1-2 weeks depending on how rough you are with your hands. They are not meant to work if you over extend the length. I cut them down toy length, cute it with uv hand held wand then file to shape I desire.
I haven’t used this company but I have used nail stickers like these that you cure on your nail. They were alright but don’t last long on their own but if you add a gel top coat they will and the edges won’t rub off. I mostly used them on the full nail tips as well. And I liked seeing David try using them. He did good! If there’s a next time.. cut the extra off by running the file straight down the nail don’t go back & forth on the edge, only down. Then add a gel top coat. They should last him longer & they’ll be hard so he can’t pick it. As to picking the apple video deal..my guess is they put several layers of gel top coat on it to make the “sticker nail” hard then they picked pieces out of the apple with it. They just didn’t tell people that part. 🤣
i dunno, this is a pretty complete and thoughtful experiment/review. "remember kids, the only difference between screwing around and science is writing it down" - adam savage. so you didn't write it down, but you recorded it on video! by my standards (and probably mr. savage's), you are a scientist. also, bravo to david! thank you for this extra perspective, and being just as complete with your thoughts, procedures, and findings. first time here. i'm not even actively seeking out nail stickers, or even nail content. i have natural nails, and have thought about stickers in the past, but alas, this was just youtube algorithm. watched beginning to end.
I love the trial and error videos! SN: Not sure if David is on any type of fitness/health journey, but if he is, tell him his progress is showing through his hands! Great work!
I’ve seen stuff before, I’ve seen that you’e supposed to put two layers of top coat on top and on the bottom when curing it to make it hard. I don’t know if it works 2:00
Would these be good to use to grow my natural nail? I have anxiety and atp don’t have much nail left so I’m embarrassed to go get them done professionally, I wanted to use these in the meantime
my thing is are they really safe to be touching with bare hands if they aren’t fully cured? i’m not sure if the company addressed this so i could totally be wrong, but that was one of my first thoughts haha
I bought many of them from one brand ( I forgot) the brand. But never used them. They’re in my ever ended pile of nail products I bought from many brands that I never used just keep them in their boxes and then put the individual packages in bigger boxes
They are definitely more for a person who just wants their natural nails done as quick as possible! Not people who enjoy doing their nails with all kinds of different stuff 😝
I had a tiny Sun one as well years ago, it barely cured unless I got the nail closer to the light. When i did that i felt a warmth in the nail gel and could feel it getting tighter. And cover it with a dark cloth, because the outside light can interrupt the IV percetage your nail is absorbing to solidify.
Gel would never cure hard like a nail would, it will always have to be on top of a tip to do that. I think that girl in the second video was confused lol
These remind me of the nail stickers we had in like 2009. They didn't last and were literally just stickers shaped like nails. You had to put a top coat on them for them to stay (even though they didn't really stay anyways) so I wonder if a gel base coat and top coat would be sufficient with these?
I knew that TikTok ad was too good to be true 😂
I've used a set of a different brand, well before tiktok, and they cured hard as a rock. I think the ones on tiktok are rip offs of the original

As to picking the apple video deal..my guess is they put several layers of gel top coat on it to make the “sticker nail” hard then they picked pieces out of the apple with it. They just didn’t tell people that part. 🤣
i just realized that i’ve been watching you since 2020 your channel has grown so much
Your Hair & Makeup Look Amazinggg , Love Your Videos And Thanks For Testing This Out Lol I Enjoyed It 😂❤💅🏾
i dunno, this is a pretty complete and thoughtful experiment/review.
I’ve never been so early 😮 me binge watching all ur old videos and u posted yay!!!
David did a great job! He’s good at observing as his filing job wasn’t bad :)
Not David loving the prep work. Lol It’s my least favorite part! 😂 he’s a treasure
SAME
Ok i gotta say, we need more David experiments nail stuff!!😂 it was too adorable!
I love the trial and error videos!
SN: Not sure if David is on any type of fitness/health journey, but if he is, tell him his progress is showing through his hands! Great work!
Please do an updated video when you receive the lamp that they sent 🙌🏻 I’m so curious what is different about that lamp
I’ve seen stuff before, I’ve seen that you’e supposed to put two layers of top coat on top and on the bottom when curing it to make it hard. I don’t know if it works 2:00
I'm wondering if the Apple clips they're on are the sticker attached to a tip?
okaaaay David, we see you! he’s learned very well from you Emily!!
The uncured liquid form of gel still touches you and your nail before it’s cured. I don’t see why that’s any different
Does the gel nail glue need to be cured? What primer do you use? Does the peel off base coat affect how long the full cover nails stay on?
I love that your husband let's you do his nails. I also love his little tutorial he had going on too. 😂
I put gel topcoat on top of these gel strips and they are hard as a rock.
Maybe putting a layer of gel or top coat might cure over them and make them hard enough to wear.
love your makeup in this video em ♡
My only concern with these is, if they dont cure all the way, aren't you risking getting contact dermatitis??? 🧐
Also you makeup always slays
I think I’m general, they are fully cured after 60s, but fully cured is still flexible, like most gel polish!
Ah! Okay good I was worried for a sec 😂
Love the video! Also I think David did a great job!!
Use a builder gel in the bottle to make nail more sturdy also to keep the nail shaped right use a poly gel nail form .
I always thought that sticker nails (the paper ones and uv ones) needed to be cut at your nails' lenght, and not to be extended 😅
I've used the Dashing Diva semi-cured gel nail stickers and I love them. I didn't try using them as nail extensions just polish and they worked great.
Made this one on time
I had a tiny Sun one as well years ago, it barely cured unless I got the nail closer to the light. When i did that i felt a warmth in the nail gel and could feel it getting tighter. And cover it with a dark cloth, because the outside light can interrupt the IV percetage your nail is absorbing to solidify.
IS THAT A KROUMI SHIRT????????? 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I love david doing his own nails omg
Gel would never cure hard like a nail would, it will always have to be on top of a tip to do that. I think that girl in the second video was confused lol
Hard gel cures rock solid, but gels meant for color and design are most definitely not going to lol
Maybe try painting a clear gel topcoat and then curing?
These remind me of the nail stickers we had in like 2009. They didn't last and were literally just stickers shaped like nails. You had to put a top coat on them for them to stay (even though they didn't really stay anyways) so I wonder if a gel base coat and top coat would be sufficient with these?
🤣🤣this is hilarious. Dashing diva has made these for like ever.
i wish they hadn't have used a misleading ad
