Dear Netflix, I can't believe you did me like this!!! Only 8 episodes of one of the best shows I have EVER seen. The writing, the cast, OMGOSH was this GOOD.
Great interview Mara! Lots of well thought through meaty questions for this amazing cast. I am approaching my mid-seventies and I have lived through most of the "post-war" history. Governments have come and gone and some (a very few) have moved us forward in significant ways. The Diplomat is so witty and contemporary and in many ways so deep and funny at the same time. My lasting impression, and what will keep me coming back, is that I leave each episode with a deep wish (longing really) that says to me "God I hope and wish that there are people like this in the background moving us towards peace and reigning in the "Dogs of War"". Thank you all for giving us a picture of what "Good Government" might look like!
Best actors interview ever. Kudos to Mara Webster, well-informed and insightful. She brings out the best in each person. They are at ease and and genuinely forthcoming.
I agree, such a fantastic interview, so deftly done. And because of that, it invited the actors to really open up. So fun listening to them and how enthusiastic they are and the layers they got into. Thank you, subscribed to this channel now because of this.
I love a series where everything is about the dialogue and you have to really be paying attention to who's saying what and who they're talking to. It's so much like West Wing that I loved so much! Unbelievably fantastic writing! Yeah for the script writing!
David Gyasi brought the passion to this love story, for me. He is brilliant and beautiful: his voice, intelligence and warm eyes are where the love resides, in this series. Hal is provocative and versatile and his character provides impulsive, comic relief with great dialogue in outrageous scenes. Such a well developed cast of beautiful and interesting actors...great to see Keri and Rufus in such compelling roles. But to discover this wonderful ensemble cast in a production that was the natural antidote to the Crown.
Enjoyed the show very much. Started getting bored during the 1st episode, then the last scene came as a shock. From then on, got hooked. The dialogue is very witty, the dynamics between characters are very interesting and multi-layered. Plot is also complex and intriguing. Great TV series. Season 2 please.
It is over this interview that made me realise part of the fun of the show for me is that we are seeing three different stages of relationship - from a burgeoning romance to the end of a marriage. 3 for the price of 1. Brilliant.
I've never watched a film with Rufus Sewell casted in so took me back to learn he's actually BRITISH. All the actors did a fantastic job... bring on season 2 earlier please!
Just watched the entire series. I compare the excellent writing and story lines to "The West Wing" which was my all-time favorite TV show. Hal was a sexy character. Look forward to another season
Best interview! Loved your insight to the show and the characters. You ask the BEST questions 😀 Look forward to seeing more "In Creative Company" actor interviews!
Wow, great questions you have there! Just finished Season 2, and my oh my, Austin Dennison is just chef kiss! And gotta love the dynamic between Kate & Eidra ❤
ich freue mich auf die 2 Staffel !!!! Die Serie ist so voll und gut gespielt geschrieben. Ich freue mich sooooo auf die nächste Staffel. Ich werde die erste noch mehr mal an sehen.
The dynamic between them is interesting. I like watching how the people listening react to the speaker. Gyasi seems to interact less with everyone. When he speaks everyone is still. Not bec they admire him tho. To me he comes across as humorless and pedantic, and self important. Everyone else just seems v cool.
@ thx. I will watch again maybe. I had no knowledge of these folks before i watched and it seemed a bit odd that THAT observation was the thing. Our brains are so wonderfully unpredictable!

New season coming back this week, hope you enjoy it!
...and only 6 eps this season, damn it -- so beautifully packed. Hope you're loving it as much as I am --

I'm also very impressed with her. She asks smart questions without being smug or showing off
Loved ❤ Brilliant cast, so enjoyable listening to this interview.

Deborah Cahn started out on S4 of the West Wing!

Show creator and head writer Debra Cahn wrote for “The West Wing.”
One of the best of these kinds of interviews I’ve ever seen! Bravo
I just finished watching yesterday! I loved this movie and the ending WOW....look forward to the continuation. I loved all the actors
It's a series, not a movie. Season 3 is scheduled for late 2025
Madam Secretary and The Diplomat are my favorite shows!! ❤ Hope The Diplomat runs the distance like Madam Secretary did! LETS GOO NETFLIX!!
Brilliance illustrated and illuminated

Yes 👍🏽 me too.
Love the story line
My fav actor ato and rufus
I hope season 2 goes ahead. Full marks on cast script show
Nice video! Can you let us know what eventually are staffers from Sec of State and F Office saying to you ?
Unpopular Take: Kate is her own worst enemy and sabotages any and all key relationships.
With that kind of toxic man around, no wonder!
There's a portrait of Secretary Albright in the set, but there's no Pompeo. Oversight? 😅
There's also no Clinton, no Kerry, and no Powell.
The Rufus manspread! So …. Oh brother.
lol
Classic Hal style!
🏅

I didn’t experience him that way
