Dynamic between the two stars is spectacular - its struggles a bit when it tries to be a conspiracy drama - but when it focuses on the black humor it works really well. And then along comes Allison Janey who blows everyone out of the story waters.
Theirs is one of my favorite relationships on screen. Frienemies to its ultimate extreme- true love and sincere horror? I did get the feeling from S2 of its holding tight its threads. They are successful in holding but still it’s perceptible. It might be because of exactly what you’re getting at.
