    HI Mikey, thanks to you I have made 2 chevron blankets, a 200 granny square blanket, 5 star blanket and 6 star blanket for my daughter. I want my own now (lol). I want to incorporate all the patterns you taught me in a Picasso looking blanket with a peace sign crocheted in a 12 row solid granny square but as many times as i try it "bleeds" over into stitches. A quick visual to make you laugh I'm left handed and watch your vids with a mirror facing my laptop. Cheers from Melb Australia xxxx

    I make these all the time. I sell them at craft fairs, but most people prefer the knit ones. I also make 2 dishcloths and crochet them together to make potholders which everyone likes too. I almost never use patterns to make dishcloths because it is my way of trying a new stitch pattern that I make up.

    Just wanted to say thanks Mikey. I had tried to learn to crochet for over 30 years till I saw a tutorial featuring you. All your lessons are amazing. Unfortunately I'm now disabled but you're even helping me there too!! I make really cute afghan throws and cushions to raise money for my local charity. I'd love it if you could do some crochet cats. Once I know your telling us what to do I know it will be amazing. Sorry to rant. I just wanted to thank you for changing my life.

    I had some leftover yarn from a school project for my daughter and wanted to do something with it. I'm a beginner and I think it turned out great it's one solid color but for a dishcloth or just a rag ingeneral it works. Wish I could show a picture.

    I enjoyed your video and made my dishcloth on the first try. No millions of take a loose, no missed stitches. My boarder was a little hard but I couldn’t see it being anything but full all the way around. My thought is to make my next one a little loser so that my boarder doesn’t hinder my shape. I am not good at identifying stitches. I have a medical condition so my fix to that is to use a large size hook 7. The slack disappears as i am going through and no one knows the difference size in pattern as well there is a boarder soooooo thuuuuuu. Thanks again. I subscribed but do you have more videos that are that easy. I’m looking to do more different stitches. My problem is I ove many things and yet I am learning certain styles of yarn make certain patterns look different and show the details better. But i love colors and types so I have to figure that out for sure. I am a newby and my goal is to make something and win at the state fair and have my name in the books to show my kids :) :)

    My problem is that my G hook is a 4.25, you say yours is 4.5. I have three different brands and all three say 4.25 on them!!! My dishcloth has 16 rows like you said to have, but it's only half the size as yours finished, before the sc border is added!!! What and how do I compensate!!!??? I have frogged my project 15 times, starting from beginning each time and still same result. It's very frustrating!!! This is for a dishcloth swap and I'm running out of time and ideas of a pattern to use!! I love this one which is why I chose it!!!! Mikey........HHHEEELLLPPP!!!!

    I've been a huge fan of Mikey's Mail for years. I made this dish cloth with cotton yarn, but after only 3 uses, one of the stitches inside the dish cloth tore and so far 2 stitches are missing and there is a hole. I can't narrow down the search term to find out how to fix it, do you have a video on how to repair these stitches?

    • @vampcheriesullivan5277
      @vampcheriesullivan5277 10 лет назад +1

      Not sure how big or small the hole is. This is odd that happened sorry to hear. I would sew the hole shut, depending on the size of the hole. Otherwise, it would go into my 'rag' pile :)

    Please...when you are teaching..go slower...you don't need to do the entire project slow, but when you are filming stitches, please remember you are TEACHING people who basically know next to nothing. Please again...do the stitching technique slower...you really go way too fast. Otherwise they are great...but I get so tired of replaying and replaying over and over again.

    • @canuck33
      @canuck33 6 лет назад +1

      Actually, this is NOT to teach you how to make certain stitches. You’re to have basic knowledge of them before coming to these tutorials. After that we’re all at different speeds and that’s the purpose of pausing the video so we can catch up and when we complete it, then we can continue.

    • @duckynickel1
      @duckynickel1 6 лет назад

      Me too! I go the the Settings tool and put it in slower motion if that will help you. Otherwise, you can look up tutorials by Meladora who specifically teaches in slow motion. She's awesome as well. I just started a couple months ago and been doing pretty well with these tutorials. Hope you've been sticking to it!

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  4 года назад +1

      Acrylic will mould after a couple days. It's not designed to be wet for prolonged periods of time. You have to choose 100% cotton yarn for kitchen based projects.

    If I were you I would do some math:
    Figure out how many units (dishclothes) you can get out of one skein.
    (price of skein) / (# of units) = (your cost per unit)
    Figure out how much time it takes you to make 1 unit.
    (time it takes you to make 1 unit) x (reasonable wage per hour) = (price of labor)
    (your cost per unit) + (price of labor) = (price per unit)
    Time is measured in 60 units. You'll have to translate that to 100 units to get a real number (45 minutes = .75 hours).

    • @bluewolfdreams
      @bluewolfdreams 6 лет назад

      when selling something that is handmade that is labor intensive like crochet items, I really would like to see anyone that sells their crocheted items with the price of their labor included and still sell at a fair price. I, and many others know you really cannot account for price of labor when selling your hand stitched items.
