Thank you for such an easy and simple pattern!
Glad you like it!
Mickey's chuckle made me smile *smiles*
Mikey, thank you so much for your tutorials & free crochet patterns. It is so appreciated. I love your site & you. You explain things so nicely. What a great person you are plus I love your sense of humor. 😊
Thank you for letting me be me.
HI Mikey, thanks to you I have made 2 chevron blankets, a 200 granny square blanket, 5 star blanket and 6 star blanket for my daughter. I want my own now (lol). I want to incorporate all the patterns you taught me in a Picasso looking blanket with a peace sign crocheted in a 12 row solid granny square but as many times as i try it "bleeds" over into stitches. A quick visual to make you laugh I'm left handed and watch your vids with a mirror facing my laptop. Cheers from Melb Australia xxxx
Mikey, I love your tutorials. They are so easy to understand. Thank you so much for making these public.
I make these all the time. I sell them at craft fairs, but most people prefer the knit ones. I also make 2 dishcloths and crochet them together to make potholders which everyone likes too. I almost never use patterns to make dishcloths because it is my way of trying a new stitch pattern that I make up.
Just wanted to say thanks Mikey. I had tried to learn to crochet for over 30 years till I saw a tutorial featuring you. All your lessons are amazing. Unfortunately I'm now disabled but you're even helping me there too!! I make really cute afghan throws and cushions to raise money for my local charity. I'd love it if you could do some crochet cats. Once I know your telling us what to do I know it will be amazing. Sorry to rant. I just wanted to thank you for changing my life.
I love all your projects. I'm a beginner and you're really easy to understand.
You are very pleasant to listen to. =) Friendly voice, that's what.
Thank you for this excellent video. This is a great project to practice on. I croched years ago and need to get back to it so that I can have small travel-projects for doctor visits. Thank you for putting your time into doing these videos. Great job!
I'm making my first dish towel. I love your channel because it has helped me to make my Christmas throws. Thank you!
Mikey - your tutorials are the best. I am learning so much from them.
Mikey is using a tulip hook made by Caron...These hooks can be purchased on Caron's website .....Cathy@The Crochet Crowd :)
you're an amazing teacher. I'm a beginner and I can always understand completely. thanks.
enjoyed your tutorial , I have made other dish cloths and love using them. This will be my next little project.

Thanks so much for this helpful video! I made 3 for Christmas gifts and now I am making me some! :D I could easily follow your instructions whereas I couldn't with other videos or tutorials. Thank you! 'Liked' & new sub! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I LOVE your videos...I'm a beginning crocheter and this helped me make a really nice dish rag to get me started!! Would like to know what kind of hook you're using also..if you've already posted that somewhere, I missed it :( Keep those videos coming!!
Oh thank you for doing a tutorial Mikey! I am struggling with my edges using just a written pattern.
I had some leftover yarn from a school project for my daughter and wanted to do something with it. I'm a beginner and I think it turned out great it's one solid color but for a dishcloth or just a rag ingeneral it works. Wish I could show a picture.
Love the colors that were used.
Love bernat yarn and these colors!!!
I absolutely love the videos! Cool job!
I enjoyed your video and made my dishcloth on the first try. No millions of take a loose, no missed stitches. My boarder was a little hard but I couldn’t see it being anything but full all the way around. My thought is to make my next one a little loser so that my boarder doesn’t hinder my shape. I am not good at identifying stitches. I have a medical condition so my fix to that is to use a large size hook 7. The slack disappears as i am going through and no one knows the difference size in pattern as well there is a boarder soooooo thuuuuuu. Thanks again. I subscribed but do you have more videos that are that easy. I’m looking to do more different stitches. My problem is I ove many things and yet I am learning certain styles of yarn make certain patterns look different and show the details better. But i love colors and types so I have to figure that out for sure. I am a newby and my goal is to make something and win at the state fair and have my name in the books to show my kids :) :)
Thanks, I needed something like this.
do you have a video for kitchen curtains or can you recommend one? ( i would rather make it from you lol )
Thanks for sharing this. Looks great. :)
Very nice video. I am from Ukraine, Crimea.
Hey guys, make sure you use ONLY cotton for hot pads and pot holders, any heat. Acrylic and polyester will melt!
My problem is that my G hook is a 4.25, you say yours is 4.5. I have three different brands and all three say 4.25 on them!!! My dishcloth has 16 rows like you said to have, but it's only half the size as yours finished, before the sc border is added!!! What and how do I compensate!!!??? I have frogged my project 15 times, starting from beginning each time and still same result. It's very frustrating!!! This is for a dishcloth swap and I'm running out of time and ideas of a pattern to use!! I love this one which is why I chose it!!!! Mikey........HHHEEELLLPPP!!!!
There are two sizes in a G hook. Ine ia called a G and the other a G+; hencd a 4 or a 4.5.
Love the giggle...heehee
Love your videos gracias.
Love your video :)
I enjoy you videos. How do you find out what to charge for dish towels
Mikey has a small dog sweater video here on youtube... if you search "dog sweater the crochet crowd" it should pop up and then oyu can change the colors to make it what ever you want... Cathy@ The Crochet Crowd:)
I'm looking for baby blanket patterns. What do you recommend?
can I use this pattern for red heart arylic yarn to make places mats? I like your work
You can but I don't advise it. Cotton is better.
@@TheCrochetCrowd oh ok sounds great thanks you😀👌
I love your work as always !!!!😀😀💕💕💕
I m doing now n thank uuuu
Did it with 22 chains spince my hands are small.
Do you have a pattern for dish towels, that you can make a hook on the top for hanging?
I'm looking for a quik simple dog sweater or dress for the 4 th of july festival red white and blue pattern with blue as main color possibly some stars in pattern or on border? Please send reply
I've been a huge fan of Mikey's Mail for years. I made this dish cloth with cotton yarn, but after only 3 uses, one of the stitches inside the dish cloth tore and so far 2 stitches are missing and there is a hole. I can't narrow down the search term to find out how to fix it, do you have a video on how to repair these stitches?
Not sure how big or small the hole is. This is odd that happened sorry to hear. I would sew the hole shut, depending on the size of the hole. Otherwise, it would go into my 'rag' pile :)
My problem is my sides are not coming out even.
nice video.... i am from india... where to get the yarn u using... kindly inform it
Where can i find the printed pattern for these dishcloths.Thank you!!!
thank u
Please...when you are teaching..go slower...you don't need to do the entire project slow, but when you are filming stitches, please remember you are TEACHING people who basically know next to nothing. Please again...do the stitching technique slower...you really go way too fast. Otherwise they are great...but I get so tired of replaying and replaying over and over again.
Actually, this is NOT to teach you how to make certain stitches. You’re to have basic knowledge of them before coming to these tutorials. After that we’re all at different speeds and that’s the purpose of pausing the video so we can catch up and when we complete it, then we can continue.
Me too! I go the the Settings tool and put it in slower motion if that will help you. Otherwise, you can look up tutorials by Meladora who specifically teaches in slow motion. She's awesome as well. I just started a couple months ago and been doing pretty well with these tutorials. Hope you've been sticking to it!
can I use arylic red heart yarn to do this project? Blair
Acrylic will mould after a couple days. It's not designed to be wet for prolonged periods of time. You have to choose 100% cotton yarn for kitchen based projects.
Oh ok thanks
When you bring the yarn out of the chain you pull the yarn clockwise. Why ?
There was a series of videos (maybe a total of 9?) on here about how to crochet a dishcloth. Mikey had said it was a girl guide method or something. I can't find it anymore. Is it still available?
Tammy Benson
I could never use white on a dishcloth, it would stain in the first use : P
If I were to sell my dishcloths, what do I charge for them??
I cannot find the pattern on your site? Please Help!!
Alguém que entenda o que escrevo pode me dizer pra qual finalidade serve?
If I were you I would do some math:
Figure out how many units (dishclothes) you can get out of one skein.
(price of skein) / (# of units) = (your cost per unit)
Figure out how much time it takes you to make 1 unit.
(time it takes you to make 1 unit) x (reasonable wage per hour) = (price of labor)
(your cost per unit) + (price of labor) = (price per unit)
Time is measured in 60 units. You'll have to translate that to 100 units to get a real number (45 minutes = .75 hours).
when selling something that is handmade that is labor intensive like crochet items, I really would like to see anyone that sells their crocheted items with the price of their labor included and still sell at a fair price. I, and many others know you really cannot account for price of labor when selling your hand stitched items.

Please. Slow down. Going way too fast for beginners
