Love this, haven't tried an alcohol ink swirl with black yet 😍. I need to try this cup I would've loved to see it fully assembled & qith the lights on. Thanks for this
Beautiful. It looks like you could drill a small hole in the bottom portion just big enough to get the lights through. Drill it high enough so that it avoids the threads in the cap. Then add the lights and fill the hole. Just a thought.
Great cup, I just love galaxies 😍. I heard you say that you poured some more earrings. Will you be posting more earring videos soon? I love watching earring pours and demolding. They are sooooo relaxing haha! TFS!
Can you do lighted cups with white color and not see the wires? I don't want to use glitter but want a lighted cup with white on top and black on bottom
Girl! I found the tool for you and it worked so well for me!!! I found it at Walmart for $0.94 pieces still flew across the room but this is easier on your hands and it’s not so big, Plus I went ahead and sent it down the inside with my Dremel because I know my friend that asked me to make two of these lighted tumblers for her that she’s a klutz and she might cut her finger out on her to get her ringer switch in the light on and off, laugh out loud! There a cutting pair of pliers 😉 pps can we be friends because love listening to you and I’m just drawn you
I don’t understand I m9x my epoxy 1 to 1 like it says it goes on perfect glitter always seems like it makes it a little textured but my alochol ink runs n it just looks way different is it the ink I am using I mean they tur out beautiful but now how I want it’s like a swampy mess n white just mixes in
This cup.is.awesome. why not try drilling a hole in the lid 🤔 I'm going to try it and see how well it works with the wire. Just a thought, I agree drilling into the cup risks breaking the seal. You're the first I've seen with the notch. Now I need to play with the lid a bit.
The disadvantage of drilling through that bottom cap is how level the cup will be afterwards. If you figure out the best way of doing that, I’d love to hear!
@@ThePurpleStitch dang. We can’t get the drill bit through. I even went to lowest and asked them for one that would cut through stainless steel. Can you ask your hubby if he used a special one?
Can you please show how the lights don't break every time you unscrew the bottom to turn them off and on? I've wasted a bunch of lights because of that!!!
Looks like she attached the light to at actually cup bottom and the lid just screws on..idk I’m watching and reading comments at the same time since I’m trying one today. Lol
An idea that you could probably try doing to get to the battery pack without damaging the wires every time you unscrew the bottom is drill a hole where the battery pack will be from the inside wall out wide enough just so your strand of Lights can fit through but drill it high enough that the bottom cap won't touch the wires and pinching It Off and after you drill your hole because you're drilling from the inside out sand down outside to smooth a bit and then after you strain your lights through the hole put some silicone or hot glue so that your epoxy won't go on the inside where the battery pack is at. I believe doing it this way will protect the wires from getting damaged from the straw holder unattached and attached again to the tumbler. It's worth a shot let me know what you think.
It definitely protects the wires but affects the integrity of the insulation. I have one now that is drilled and I’m doing a second ice test. I filled the hole around the wire with gorilla epoxy. The first test was only a half full test that I did at night. The ice was melted by morning. I did a full tumbler of ice last night and will be checking it in a few minutes. These tumblers are vacuum sealed to get the insulation that keeps drinks hot or cold for so long. 🙂
@@tinawood5926 I did a side by side comparison of the drilled one and this one. The ice melted almost the exact same. This style doesn’t seem to insulate as well in general it seems. I really was worried that breaking the seal would be a major issue. Apparently it’s the design in general. Still kept cold and didn’t sweat though. Just not 24 hours like some would.
Omg, I have a ton of lights, all different colors that I use in my resin sculptures, now i need to find that cup and I am totally gonna give this a go, if its alright with you of course I would give you the props and shoutouts in my video
Weeeeellllll....the first attempt: I mixed two of the same part about the 4th layer in (1st time ever!). I couldn’t clean it off enough to save it. The 2nd attempt: the battery pack fell off and stuck to another cup which pulled them both off their turners! Then the wires twisted until they broke. The 3 one was great all the way to the vinyl stage and the stupid battery pack had stopped working right!! I almost finished the video on that one but I was so upset and couldn’t bring myself to post a video of a lights tumbler with non working lights! 😩
What kind of white did you use? I accidentally used a white mixative on a cup and it acted like your white did. I’m just wondering if all whites do that or just the mixative ones
This is my first time seeing anything like this and I found it absolutely intriguing. What a great video, thanks so much for sharing this. I'm new so I wont do it now but I will keep this video, but the things I need and try it later once I get a couple of cups under my belt. Thanks again. Do you have a FaceBook page? Carrie
why not attach the lights with super glue--like the zippers? it seems like that would be easier--maybe not. Good tutorial--I heard you talk about this last week (?) and have been soooo excited to see it in action! Thanks!!!
Gretta Stith some people use super glue. I don’t love superglue, and it hates me back. 😆 this is the idea I had mentioned, I was so excited to make it!
The Purple Stitch ok... I understand- I have a love/hate relationship with super glue!! I’m glad you made the video!! I thought about doing something along these lines but then talked myself out of it! So, thanks for bringing a “vision” to life!!!
I have 2 I'm starting for tomorrow to try it out. Which is why I was watching a bunch of different videos to see different methods. However I did see you looking for a better way to do the wire, I'm using the style of lights you have though
I love galaxies and I love led lights. You combined them to create something magical. Love 💘 Love it.
Love it!
Wow jess that is so cool love it cant wait to see how the book cup comes out 😁🙌
🥰that one will be a video as well! But you’ll get progress pics along the way.
@@ThePurpleStitch yay i just cannot wait!!!!!
Thank you. I've always wondered how to do this and yours is so sweet.

Way to go!!! That's crazy cool/fun!! Thanks for the tutorial!!

Your cups are so gorgeous, I wish I could learn how. Some things I can do and some things I cant.
I have definitely put several things at the bottom of the list because I’m scared to try them...like plaid!!
How did you make the slit at the bottom for the lights?
What would be the care instructions for washing this cup?
Beautiful. It looks like you could drill a small hole in the bottom portion just big enough to get the lights through. Drill it high enough so that it avoids the threads in the cap. Then add the lights and fill the hole. Just a thought.
I did one that way as well, the insulation seemed about the same both ways. This style doesn’t stay as cold as other styles of cups it seems.
Great idea! I use the mold to make a base ring from two chicks art.
I bought one but haven’t made it very far with it yet.
Great cup, I just love galaxies 😍. I heard you say that you poured some more earrings. Will you be posting more earring videos soon? I love watching earring pours and demolding. They are sooooo relaxing haha! TFS!
Crafty Girl I usually just pour them with excess. But I can do a video of that soon.
Awesome! Love it!

Honestly, you can do whatever you want and get excited to do! There really aren’t any hard rules except for cured epoxy! 😆

Hubby drilled from the outside in. The other person I spoke with about it also did outside in.

This one has a notch cut with a dremel wheel.

These cups are amazing
This is amazing! What is the white coloring that you used?
I used Brea Reese white so that it would absorb a good bit of color. Piñata brand has more pop if you need a more intense white.
Leave the bottom cover on and drill a small hole run the wire through does better then running wire through the bottom side . Just helpful info.
I’m having a hard time imagining how I would open it afterwards for on/off and battery changes. It’s going over my head. 🤣

@@ThePurpleStitch Thank you
This is a super awesome idea! I have never seen a tumbler with a screw on bottom like that. Where did you find that tumbler?
Www.Thestainlessdepotcompany.Com it is a “strawbler”.
I've been trying to do this for a few months now. I was trying to figure out how to keep the epoxy from getting on the switch.
Where can you get shorter lights than 3ft
About 3 is the shortest is saw, but probably amazon.
You can those lights to length you need…doesn’t affect them
What brand is your black alcohol ink?
This time was piñata brand.
How long are the lights
Roughly 6 feet so I doubled them.
Thank you for the quick response

Where is the switch??????
On the bottom.
You shouldnt have dropped the white on the lights white has titanium oxide which makes it very opaque making it harder for the lights to shine through
Nothing attached
I wonder if you caught it right before it all finished, it’s there now. ☺️😁
