Theory: The woman that died had died of unknown causes, but it started when she kept spending more time in the gardens that they owned back then. When she died, the man was so mad that he believed her soul would go into the vines in the forest. So he jumped into the well behind the woman’s corpse, drowns and his soul goes into the vines. Now he makes anyone who steps foot in the gardens into the garden, and when that doesn’t work, he tries to kill them like seen in this video
I think ya'll should make a movie at this point... haven't been this fascinated about a cartoon in ages, and looks like I'm not alone

Theory I'm going with is that his wife was attacked, so he cast a spell that would turn any trespassers into bushes. As years go on there are a string of disappearances, which only increase every time people go to try and investigate.
