I work as a officer on a cruise ship, so here is some insight. Think of it in context of an airliner, just how long should one wait and inconvenience the other passengers, throw off the plan for the ship to be on schedule and generate thousands in costs that will be passed on to other guests down the line. For a couple of unthinking fools to be careless or naive enough to let this happen to them is in no way the cruise ships fault and shouldn't effect other passengers who made it back on time.

My son is at USAFA and was about to come home for the first time in 6 months for the holidays. The ticket was over 800$ round trip! Well they cancelled the very bus he needed a half hour before he was supposed to leave to take him from base to the airport. Cabs and Ubers aren't allowed on base. So he had to full on sprint with just a backpack and leave his suitcase the few miles to the gate for the Uber, pay the almost hundred bucks for the fair to Denver. He called the airline and told them what was going on and they said someone would meet him at security and they would do all that they could to get him home. He was about 10 mins late for the flight after all said and done but they waited. They didn't have to and we didn't expect them to is the difference between my son and these people. Even though he was powerless over his situation he wouldn't have thrown a fit and blamed them. He would have just called home, we would have rallied resources and got him another flight (we aren't wealthy by any means so it would have been hard but we would have made it happen) but I am forever grateful to Frontier Airlines and the way they handled the situation that day and the way they took care of my future pilot❤

This scene reminds of something that happened to some stokers on the Titanic as recorded by one of the second class passengers. The stokers came running up as the liner was pulling away. Four days later those stokers were undoubtedly counting their lucky stars.
I have a rule on a cruise, whatever time they tell you to get back on the ship(let's say 6PM) I say to myself right aim to get back on the ship between 5-5.30, to allow yourself an extra window and enough time to get back to the ship(this also allows you for any kind of possible delay), we did a big cruise last year and on the last stop(gribralter) the time to get back on the ship is quite tight(9-1.30) especially if you do your own thing and go up to the rock, well we didn't plan our timings too well and went through town for a while and the. tryed to go to the cable car to go up to the top, the queue was quite long and the time was already 11.30, so we abandoned the attempt as I was too worried about time, we walked back and it's quite a walk back due to the route you have to take, as it's not quite a direct walk back,we didn't get back to the ship till 12.45,Sadly 2 people were left as they didn't make it back in time, they waited 30 mins extra too.never be late people, not worth it
on our 1st cruise we were in Honduras for a ship-sponsored outing. the 3 dry creek beds we crossed to get to the event (which was partly shortened because of rain) became raging rivers on the return. there were 3 buses of cruisers from 2 different cruise lines. We were 2 hours late getting to the tender & back to the ship. This taught me to only go with cruise sponsored outings.
A ship with thousands of passengers cannot wait for 2 people. They tell you when you disembark at what time you must be back, even the shore excursion pamphlets say it in bold letters. You can't do everything while at a port so plan wisely.
...The Carnival ship that I was on actually let him board our ship and took him back to Miami. His family was returning to another port in Florida, so he still had to fly to them. But it beats having to stay in Mexico. Kudos to Carnival for that save. Of course his family had to fax over all if his documents to verify his identity. It all worked out in the end.
My guess is this is how they lead there life, "were important and the ship won't leave, let's got to one more shop." I love watching pier runners it's almost a sport when you're on a cruise.
I have been on several cruises and did not see one pier runner. It is definitely a big exception, and the cruise lines go out of their way to wait for people.
There is always someone who is so inconsiderate that they think nothing of holding up a couple thousand people because they can't be on time. Well there are consequences.
I caught the last tender one night, when I was on a cruise, and that cured me of being late! Cruise ships have ports to make on a schedule because there are many people who are expecting them, personnel whose job it is to tend to the ship, e.g., on-load supplies, etc.. It's just very rude to be late, because it affects everyone on board the ship! Then the Captain has to try to make up time and that could be dangerous! They may sail according to the weather expected on routes as well as at their ports.
I feel really bad, but for some reason it was a bit satisfying to watch. Like, I wouldn't wanna end up in their situation, and I can imagine how they feel, but still.
I love how you can see the shadow of the ship moving along the dock, outrunning him as he is yelling for them to stop for him. Of course, now he has to face his wife. Never go ashore on a non cruise sponsored tour. They won't wait for you if you get late. HA!
R. S. Andrews at least take a shorter non cruise excursion that is nearby and just last a couple of hours and head back. OR take a hike for 30 minutes each way.
One cruise we were on waited for a couple. Their kids were on the ship and they were about 10 minutes late. We had been talking to them earlier so when we saw them again we found out they were not allowed to leave their kids in the Camp Carnival for the rest of the cruise and were not allowed off the ship at the next port.
Well... for the lady that is "feeling terrible for them" in the video. Consider these facts before feeling any sorry. 1.Departure time is advertised waaay ahead of time. It is each and one of us' responsibility to read and remember those times. And departure is usually 30 minutes AFTER ALL ABOARD time. So they were not late 2-3 minutes.. they were late at least 30 minutes. 2.Their mistake could jeopardize i.e.the flights of those who were on time and need to fly home on the next port of call. 3.Sure the ship can speed up.... Average 3000pax cruise ship consumes an average 1000 tonnes (1million kilograms) of heavy fuel in a 7 day cruise... Every speeding or slowing down is cost huge bucks!!! Who is paying for the bill? 4.The environmental factor: the extra fuel burnt to pick up some latecomers does not justify itself. 5.Unseen/unknown factors: every latecomer, every change results in many extra manhours performed by crew. Who is paying for their extra hours?? 6.Ndstars' reply is awesome: Why would the latecomers leave their child behind on the ship???
The lady speaking in the video that feels sorry for the couple left behind even tho it's their fault has so much compassion I Love her spirit. That's just the way I would be talking wanting the ship to let the couple on board.
It's just like those people who check in late for a flight. The aircraft might still be sitting on the tarmac but once the flight status is closed there's a whole lot of cabin and cockpit procedures that have to be gone through. To open up the flight again would mean cancelling all of those procedures and having to start all over again which could result in a delay of several hours. Accidents happen, but there are those people who think the rules don't apply to them and as long as they get what they want they don't care about the inconvenience they've caused to everyone else. I think it's great to see this type of person come unstuck, and I hope the learn a lesson for the future!
You are an adult, you have to learn to be at work at time, be at church on time, be back to the ship on time. They give you 30 minutes grace. If you miss the boat, you miss the boat!!! It cost money to run a ship, those cost have to be passed onto the passengers, is it fair for them to pay for this couple who don't know how to be on time? Some ports may have a pilot boat that may get them to the ship but that can be dangerous, more so for an over weight person, even that cost extra money. Otherwise they have to fly home, or fly to the next port of call. Plenty to do on ship, if you don't know how to use a watch.
This happened to a couple I knew. They were 20 minutes late. The ship TURNED AROUND and head back to port to pick up late passengers. They boarded a Harbor Pilot boat and were transported to the ship. Passengers were then transfered while at sea. Why? They were the parents of a child who had been left on board the ship. Captains don't like having unescorted minors in their custody.
IF you were late due to having joined an onshore excursion / tour organized by the cruise line itself, then the ship would wait for you. We had had this experience once with Royal Caribbean and this is one reason why you may wish to consider joining tours organized by the cruise company = yes, they are generally more expensive but treat the premium as buying a late penalty insurance.
The ship should never wait for the passengers, it should leave on time. In a slightly related story, i was on a cruise in the Mediterranean and we stopped in Civitavecchia to visit Rome for a day. We loaded onto a bus from the cruise ship for our excursion into Rome but one couple that was scheduled for the tour could not be found. The cruise guides held the bus for ~40 minutes until they found that couple. What ensued was our annoyed guide dragging us through Rome as fast as she could for the rest of the day. Rome is a busy place and we were also scheduled to visit the Vatican that day. In order to avoid the long lines going into the Vatican we had a scheduled entry time for our group. At some points we were literally running to make up time. When we exited the Vatican into Rome our guide was once again trying to rush us to make up time. We were done and informed her that we were stopping to rest and getting some gelato from the cart right outside of the St. Peters Square. She stood there pacing around for 15 minutes with a ticked off look on her face while we sat on the curb and ate our gelato. The satisfaction of finally doing what we wanted was the best part of the entire visit to Rome. THIS is why you don't make everyone else wait!
I was on the 2008 New Year's Eve Carnival Splendor cruise and they blew the horn and called and called for Dana Brown while at dock in La Romana, Dominican Republic but ended up leaving without her. We turned around and went back and met a small boat that ferried her out to the Splendor. I wish I had gotten that on video, we were all just stunned.
SURELY the passengers are aware of the departure..time and tide wait for no man [or woman] and WHY should a ship have to hang about waiting? if passengers knew ships would wait, they would take huge advantage.
I love the compassion coming out of the ones making the video. Thank you for making my day brighter by caring about others in their misfortune. Is a refreshing change from the standard "well they deserved it." If we each got what we deserved then most of us would be in trouble. Blessings ❤
Yes, that is exactly how it is. Of course there's this scenario: The passengers were on the ship's excursion. The excursion ended and dropped them off near or at the port an hour before the departure time. The passengers were too busy taking photos (or whatever) and just missed their ship.
+kckcmctcrc we always book excursions thru Carnival for that reason! Last week our excursion was one hour late in Cozumel! Luckily there was 150 of us and the captain explained it over the intercom so no one screamed or applauded!
I took too the trip from Cozumel to Chichen Itza which I think is probably one of the longest excursions that you can take on a cruise ship. From what I understand they are the first off and the last back on the ship yet there were STILL people who got back after us. It was ridiculous. Cozumel seems to have an inordinate number of peer runners. I'm not sure if that's because people take the ferry to Playa Del Carmen or the all you can drink beach clubs or what exactly goes on in Cozumel that makes people miss the departure.
No these people do not have e excursions, because if you have an excursion the boat will wait for you. The ship knows who has an excursion on the island that is why some times they wait and than like this case they do not.
Thank goodness it's only 50 miles across to Florida - I'm sure the cruise line realizes this and that's one reason they go ahead and disembark - sad for the customers, but live and learn!
Hard lesson I HOPE they learned... That dude was angry at the captain for not stopping? SERIOUSLY? Ive been on enuf cruises to know... They make it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR... NOT to be Late boarding the ship To go home. Some people THINK they are ENTITLED to Anything... ...or maybe they really DID... have a GOOD REASON! MAYBE...but I Doubt it.
Well if your on a Royal Caribbean Cruise shore excursion and you take a shore excursion through Royal Caribbean and the tour is delayed they will wait for you or if the tour is broken down they will wait for you. Now if you off on your own like St. martin and you go off and do lets say the Yoday Guy Movie exhibit in St Martin. The Ship will not wait for you to return because your not doing anything through Royal Caribbean cruise line. its your responsibility to get back to Florida or where every you cruise out of. One word of advice Never ever fly in the day of the cruise. Some people make the mistakes in flying in the day of the cruise and get stuck because of weather or mechanical issue. Please if you go on a cruise fly in the day before, get a hotel room then find out how early you can board it does not mean you can get into your cabin until after 1pm on some cruises that depart at 4 or 4:30pm Maybe consider purchasing a one way car that you can drop off at the rental car place and pick up when you get back into port.
We flew down in January the day before because I was afraid with the winter weather our flight could be cancelled. I also paid for another night in a hotel flying home the day after our cruise was over because I was afraid I wouldn't make it to the airport in time (my sister and brother in law cut it really close making their flight due to other passengers not showing up when paged to depart the ship). I was much more relaxed and not afraid of missing any deadlines that way.
Fired!!! I've worked as stateroom steward for 10 years with Carnival, zero tolerance for those crew member and staff member leave bihind the vessel, for those passenger leave behind the ship they will pay their own transfer to join the ship next port
That's why they always have a shore excursion briefing on every cruise. They always say keep your watchs on ship's time to make sure that EVERYONE is back ON TIME.
As lots of people already said: if you're doing an excursion booked through the cruise line, the ship will wait. If you go out discovering on your own, it won't. Now, if something has happened to you, there is an emergency number on the back of your Sea Card which you can call to make arrangements if possible. The emergency team of your cruise line will then contact the bridge. But If you're late and it's entirely your fault, the ship will not wait and you have to make sure you get to the next location on your own!
I worked on Carnival ships. In my first contract I was late 2 minutes (that was half an hour before the ship's departure). I was lucky I didn't get a warning, because I was new. So for the crew even one minute late is big deal, and that is a minute late from the time that you are supposed to be back on board, not when the ship leaves.
In Cozumel, México a man was left behind because of delays with dropping off his car rental. Luckily he had dropped his family off at the ship before doing so. His family was on board and safe. After several calls to him over the loudspeaker the ship eventually left...
They dont wait....if departure time is 17.00....your maximum time to arrive is 17.00 and unless there is an emergency onboard at the last minute, the departure is not delayed.....
Unless we are on a ship sponsored excursion, we are always back on board a full hour before the recommended time. Sometimes the pilot boat will run people along side who miss the ship. But, I've been told it can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars for them to do it. DON'T BE LATE.
Now I understand why my dad always made my family go to the airport like 6 hours early. He said" Allow extra time in case something unexpected happens, and then allow an extra hour on top of that"
If this happens to you, go immediately and look for a boat at the pier that will take you out alongside the cruise ship. If you hurry, you can catch the ship and they will let you come along side and get on while the ship is still on its way out of the port. I've seen it happen. If you wait too long to act though, the ship will be gone and you'll have to fly out to the next port.
I've been on 3 cruises in my life. It's been many years, but I'm fairly certain there was one cruise where we waited & waited, & finally left without him. If I'm remembering correctly, it was a crewman. And this was back before cell phones...
They have deadlines and company rules. The captain can only wait so long before he runs afoul of one or another. And sometimes it's the port, itself, with that dock contracted to another ship beginning at a certain time.
If you are on an excursion that the ship booked for you, they *MAY* wait if the excursion is late returning. If there is ANY other reason you are late for your re-embarkation, you are screwed. It's that simple.
It IS possible that they had a transportation problem getting back, like a taxi with a flat tire or something, but once the boat is under power you've missed it. I've seen enough of these vids now that I wouldn't panic, I would just get on the phone and call the cruise company and set up how to get to the next port of call - or home. Better leave room on your credit card.
Barbara Carr lol imagine if he left his social security card and Wallet on the ship, missing wallet + missing Ssi card and your entire belongings + wife = bleach
Glad I ran across this video. Im going on a cruise in the future and i will definitely make sure I be back 2 hours before the ship leaves. That will be a messed up situation to be in.
We almost missed our cruise ship as we got an old taxi driver who drove WAY too slow everywhere; we got in the cab in plenty of time but he was SO slow we ended up YELLING and YELLING at him to drive faster, he wouldn't; we finally jumped out of the cab and ran all the way to the ship; VERY annoying!!! no tip for him!
@Wild1995 The problem is that if the ship was scheduled to leave at 4PM all passengers were told to be back on board much earlier. The 4PM time was the pulling away from the dock time, the last call before the gangway is pulled up would have been at least 15 min, and on some lines 30 min, earlier. So at 4Pm they were already 15 to 30 min late.
Hell yes cruise ships leave the port without you. I lived on Maui and folks missed the 7-day, 7-island stop cruise departure all the time. Cruising a different island every day means they have to catchup to the ship at the next port. Often cruisers were at the beach when they got left and may not have ID, money, credit cards, cell phone, etc. People on vacation should really bring their common sense with them.
Disney Cruise Line will wait if, IF, you use their shore excursions. Happened in '08 when we were leaving Acapulco. Bus blew a tire in the boonies. Ship was to leave at 2 pm to get in the queue for the Panama Canal. 2:10 and no movement. Went to the rail and one ramp was still from ship to dock and Disney staff pacing around. Finally, at 2:45 the bus showed up, the passengers raced through the screening tent and onto the Magic. Ramp up and, if he could, the captain would have laid rubber.
Always be at least 30-45 minutes early. The locals not only know when cruise ships arrive they also know when they leave. So, if your'e stuck on the other side of town and you need to get back to the ship fast! You need to always be prepared just in case you get into a jam.You might get lucky and make it back just in the nic of time, there are always one or two people who cannot run very fast, and if your on the other side of town this is not an option. Now, you will need to hire a bike/car/taxi to get you back in time and you better believe they will not be cheap. That's why It's always a good idea to keep some cash on you for emergencies, because everyone understands the language of money. The locals know that ship ain't coming back for you! You know it too.
It so nice to hear passionate and sympathetic people on this video. They must make the word a better place wherever they live. Such nice people. Meaning the ones talking on the video. I wish I was friends with them. Come stay with my family in Florida you positive people. I bet you are great to have around.
3:00 ... at THAT point the time to stop, reverse engines, re-dock, drop tie ropes, winch in, deploy the gangplank (all as per mandatory government regulations) would probably take another 40 minutes at minimum, THEN they had to 'steam' at full speed to the next port, depending on how far it is, it could cost TENS of thousands of dollars in additional fuel to go full speed, never mind double docking fees, etc. My opinion is the ship should leave EXACTLY to the SECOND of departure time in all cases, this would teach future excursionists to be on time.
LOL "will they pull over?" Like it's a car on a highway. too funny

Absolutely no sympathy for the people left behind. It's not like they aren't warned.
Be on time
My guess is this is how they lead there life, "were important and the ship won't leave, let's got to one more shop." I love watching pier runners it's almost a sport when you're on a cruise.
I have been on several cruises and did not see one pier runner. It is definitely a big exception, and the cruise lines go out of their way to wait for people.
cmlinnenberg I've seen a lot of them in the Caribbean and a few in Europe over the years.
...their...
You mean it happens all the time?
Our favorite was a lady that quickly hired a small boat to run her out to the ship trying to get them to stop. We didn't stop!
Wow. Unfortunately, this was our last port of call, so they would need to fly back to Florida.
you are told over and over what time to be back! if you miss the boat.. its your own fault.
There is always someone who is so inconsiderate that they think nothing of holding up a couple thousand people because they can't be on time.
Well there are consequences.
yep down there they must be working for bad pay now
Murdoc Niccals p
I caught the last tender one night, when I was on a cruise, and that cured me of being late! Cruise ships have ports to make on a schedule because there are many people who are expecting them, personnel whose job it is to tend to the ship, e.g., on-load supplies, etc.. It's just very rude to be late, because it affects everyone on board the ship! Then the Captain has to try to make up time and that could be dangerous! They may sail according to the weather expected on routes as well as at their ports.
I'm giving you a thumbs up for the compassion in the play by play. It was really sweet 😍
I feel really bad, but for some reason it was a bit satisfying to watch. Like, I wouldn't wanna end up in their situation, and I can imagine how they feel, but still.
I din't feel bad at all.
It's super easy to not be in that situation. How many thousand other people managed to be on the boat when it left?
By far, the best video of people missing a cruise ship!
it's so fun to watch the people run to catch the boat. we do it all the time
People like this are like a franchise because they're on every cruise that has ever sailed. Watching those fools never gets old.
Ships pay a fortune in docking fees every time they dock.
These idiots would cost the company $100,000 just to dock again.
Be on TIME !!!!
Yes, it is very expensive to dock
They said they were leaving at four, and they left at four? How dare they.
BE ON TIME! BE ON TIME!! BE ON TIME!!!!!!!!! cruise ships WONT wait for you
I was on the 2008 New Year's Eve Carnival Splendor cruise and they blew the horn and called and called for Dana Brown while at dock in La Romana, Dominican Republic but ended up leaving without her. We turned around and went back and met a small boat that ferried her out to the Splendor. I wish I had gotten that on video, we were all just stunned.
Hell yeah they will leave you behind..
Blessings ❤
Yes. People love to dump on others.
Yes, I also enjoyed their commentary on the situation. They were kind but fascinated.... Like us!😍
Yes, that is exactly how it is.
Of course there's this scenario:
The passengers were on the ship's excursion.
The excursion ended and dropped them off near or at the port an hour before the departure time.
The passengers were too busy taking photos (or whatever) and just missed their ship.
I've seen hundreds of RUclips videos and this is by far my most watched/ favorite.
This is why you do excursions through the ship company.
We've done it both ways and have never had any trouble....this being said, there is TREMENDOUS peace of mind when you book through the ship.
+kckcmctcrc we always book excursions thru Carnival for that reason! Last week our excursion was one hour late in Cozumel! Luckily there was 150 of us and the captain explained it over the intercom so no one screamed or applauded!
thebugman2007 I hear ya...we once booked outside of RCL and I swear I was so worried about being late I couldn't fully enjoy the activity.
I would be yelling,"Hey,can I have your warm chocolate melting cake!!"
Now, THAT is funny. If I were the people filming the video I'd be thinking. Wow, sucks for you, can I get another Margarita.
😂😂😂😂
Thank goodness it's only 50 miles across to Florida - I'm sure the cruise line realizes this and that's one reason they go ahead and disembark - sad for the customers, but live and learn!
Hard lesson I HOPE they learned...
That dude was angry at the captain for not stopping?
SERIOUSLY?
Ive been on enuf cruises to know...
They make it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR...
NOT to be Late boarding the ship
To go home.
Some people THINK they are
ENTITLED to Anything...
...or maybe they really DID...
have a GOOD REASON!
MAYBE...but I Doubt it.
i mean seriously
+mike starr The captain did the right thing by not putting 2 passengers ahead of 3000+ passengers who can tell time.
Right
Well if your on a Royal Caribbean Cruise shore excursion and you take a shore excursion through Royal Caribbean and the tour is delayed they will wait for you or if the tour is broken down they will wait for you.
Not just RC. Any cruise will wait if you booked an excursion through them. If you didn't they won't wait
Flipping hilarious! "Oh my, why is the ship leaving on time?"
Fired!!! I've worked as stateroom steward for 10 years with Carnival, zero tolerance for those crew member and staff member leave bihind the vessel, for those passenger leave behind the ship they will pay their own transfer to join the ship next port
RUN FOREST RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even Forrest Gump has sense to be on time!
I bet those people are always late even in their everyday lives . There are those that have manners and those that don’t.
If you wait too long to act though, the ship will be gone and you'll have to fly out to the next port.
that lady should be running as if Jason was chasing her with a chainsaw
Jason should have been there to chase them
I've been on 3 cruises in my life. It's been many years, but I'm fairly certain there was one cruise where we waited & waited, & finally left without him. If I'm remembering correctly, it was a crewman. And this was back before cell phones...
Some people think the world show wait for them surprise!!!!!!
TheBearhoney my family always gets back on with 2 hour before the boat leaves.
Better safe then sorry
@@maxboi1036 sometimes its better to just stay on the boat to begin with. Have the whole place to yourself
The ONLY reason they will delay leaving port is if there is a delay in a cruise ship sponsored excursion that is late getting back to port.
My favorite part; man holds out arms like wtf, I'm here. Hahahaha
They have deadlines and company rules. The captain can only wait so long before he runs afoul of one or another. And sometimes it's the port, itself, with that dock contracted to another ship beginning at a certain time.
Plus it would probably cost thousands of dollars to redock the ship to pick up these idiots
“and she’s got a shopping bag!” 😂
If you are on an excursion that the ship booked for you, they *MAY* wait if the excursion is late returning. If there is ANY other reason you are late for your re-embarkation, you are screwed. It's that simple.
For some reeason i like the conversation in the background.
Maybe the ship should employ commentator's for these moment's and a camera crew, I can see a new reality show coming from this.
It IS possible that they had a transportation problem getting back, like a taxi with a flat tire or something, but once the boat is under power you've missed it. I've seen enough of these vids now that I wouldn't panic, I would just get on the phone and call the cruise company and set up how to get to the next port of call - or home. Better leave room on your credit card.
wow that is why i back on the ship an hour before sailing times,
Barbara Carr lol imagine if he left his social security card and Wallet on the ship, missing wallet + missing Ssi card and your entire belongings + wife = bleach
They deserve to be left behind. Keeping people waiting is disrespectful
Why were you there fretting about others? I would have been inside at the bar enjoying my holiday.
THEY probably were back with plenty of time to go to the bar, get a drink, and go back up on deck to enjoy the dock show.
While I feel bad for them, the ship always asks you to be back 30 minutes before sailing. Be more careful of the time
The dialog is priceless! Gas is expensive!!! Docking fees... haha!!
Glad I ran across this video. Im going on a cruise in the future and i will definitely make sure I be back 2 hours before the ship leaves. That will be a messed up situation to be in.
Sucks, their fault for being late, their is a time on the ticket that says when it sets sail, if you not on your shit out of luck
This brings meaning to the phrase 'You missed the boat!"
We almost missed our cruise ship as we got an old taxi driver who drove WAY too slow everywhere; we got in the cab in plenty of time but he was SO slow we ended up YELLING and YELLING at him to drive faster, he wouldn't; we finally jumped out of the cab and ran all the way to the ship; VERY annoying!!! no tip for him!
yeah...I bet all your "yelling" helped that situation...
I hate when people are mean to old people
sometimes old people move slow so we cant help but yell at them
Lauren
Douche
If you see a taxi that is green with 4 legs and a hard shell, don't get on.
Cruise ships are like the MBTA of the seas, they do not wait... (boston joke)
Ports aren’t free for ships to dock it costs thousands of dollars and it adds up if they get of schedule
You must be there when they tell you...its not rocket science people
“Oh that is mortifying.” *continues filming* 😂😂 me!
What a horrible feeling that must be
Always be at least 30-45 minutes early.
What makes these people think they're special enough to inconvenience a ship full of passengers?! Welcome to the age of entitlement. 😡
3:00 ... at THAT point the time to stop, reverse engines, re-dock, drop tie ropes, winch in, deploy the gangplank (all as per mandatory government regulations) would probably take another 40 minutes at minimum, THEN they had to 'steam' at full speed to the next port, depending on how far it is, it could cost TENS of thousands of dollars in additional fuel to go full speed, never mind double docking fees, etc.
My opinion is the ship should leave EXACTLY to the SECOND of departure time in all cases, this would teach future excursionists to be on time.
You are correct. My husband is a Longshoreman, it's extremely expensive to dock these ships.
It's a ship, honey, not a bus. People have to take responsibility for their lives.
Woman: "my heart goes out to her ..i would literally throw up" Haha
If passengers knew the ship would wait, it would never leave.
If he has money for a cruise ship, charter a ship to drop him off at the next port :D
