True. And gone are the days when only the rich and elite could afford to go on cruises. So, now it's just up to all of us, who can afford them, to enjoy them while we can.
As a frequent Cruiser I can tell you this is extremely common many people don't even realize what shp they are cruising on or simply cannot identify what ship there cruising on . they can't even identify their ship once they're off of it. Many people actually get into the wrong line. Many people have the impression that because they can see the ship that it's not going to go anywhere and they still have time. Many other people get drunken out of their mind and they have no idea what's going on or concept of time. Time is another Factor many people don't pay attention to the right time they go by the time on their watch and not the actual Island time or the ship's time. Which causes major confusion. St Thomas can be very confusing to new Cruisers because there's two actual Cruise ports. So they have no idea what cruise port to go back to.. I even had people tell me the ships not going to leave without me it has to wait for me. Besides I have a tour sticker so they have to wait. Unfortunately cruise ships almost never wait for anyone unless you're directly booked on one of their tours book through the actual cruise ship. But even then that doesn't mean they're going to wait. Late is late pretty-much zero tolerance. Even I almost missed the ship one time when I was in Saint Martin because the water taxi there decided to go on holiday vacation. Even though he had taken everybody's money and sold them all day passes he never told his passengers that he would not be there after 5 p.m.. luckily I was able to walk back and had to push my mother her walker and we were literally the last ones on the ship. However over 30 people got left behind. Only that I had been to st-martin before I knew how to get back by walking but it was a very long walk in fact by the time we got back to the ship it was already dark out. Many of the people just simply got lost and had no idea how to get back. We were begging for a taxi a bus Uber anyting and they all said that those were unavailable due to the holiday. So always be prepared and always allow yourself extra time. Even if you have a bracelet or a tour sticker does not mean anybody's going to come looking for you.
It pays to pay attention, and to have at least one person in your group who's going to be the responsible one. We saw one of those party boats show up about 15 minutes after the "scheduled" departure time (supposed to leave at 5pm). It was a ship excursion.
No cruise for me. Too many people, my anxiety would kill me. I hate heights and not to excited about swimming if the ship sunk plus I don't want to be eaten by shark.

There's plenty of time to sit at the bar, pool, or germ infested jacuzzi; however, there's only a limited amount of time to watch for contestants in the pier runner Olympics. And we have drinks in hand while enjoying the follies of the pier runners.
