- Ronnie Davies is best-known for his work as trainer to Chris Eubank. The popular Brighton coach travelled the world with the eccentric British great and forged a friendship that remains to this day.
Davies was also involved in the career of Eubank Jr but he's worked with dozens of other fighters from Scott Welch to Henry Castle and Neil Linford to Tony Oakey.
He was also a former Southern Area champion who called it a day as a pro aged just 24. Here, he recounts highs, lows and regrets and his time on board the wonderful Eubank roller coaster - including tales of cliff-jumping, fight-week bungee jumps and much more.

Good podcast why no mention of juniors 2 losses?
This is my father , believe me nobody knows how loyal he is especially t Eubank snr . Proud of you dad
Respect. I met your dad when I trained in his gym as a thai boxer 20 years ago. Proper old skool!
Thank you Ronnie and Tris. That was a superb conversation.
Love that pic of Ronnie on his bike with Chris Snr.It's like a real old time snapshot from the 30s
This IS by far the best boxing podcast.
Well done Tris
It's only lately I've discovered boxing stories, I'm totally hooked, Tris has a natural fantastic way of interviewing that makes for the very best interviews. This one is fantastic, it's a pleasure listening to Ronnie, and his humble and very honest stories are real Gold. I truely love the podcast I hope you keep doing them, they won't be beaten.
Brilliant interview, miss you Ronnie, old school values show through, wish you all the best....
This is the best boxing podcast going , I heard every one so far , Tris seems to know everybody too
Agree with you mate only podcasts I actually sit all the way through and listen. Good interviewer
Tris man, you’re killing it with these interviews. Loving your interviews. Every one is a piece of history. ☮️
I met Ronnie today , such a lovely bloke
Really enjoyed this interview! Henry Castle is a great guy and he still trains people at Salisbury gym and Southampton as well. I feel like he was robbed in his last fight, against Buckland. He beat Graham Earl and that was just after Amir Khan had beat Earl. Both beat him in one round, but I think Henry won it quicker than Amir did. Just finished a training session at Salisbury gym with Henry and he really puts us through it, but we also learn a great deal when he teaches us. Wouldn't want to mess with him in his day or even now for that matter haha! Top interview this!!
By far one of the best if not THE best interview you've done. He was great!
My lovely friend Ronnie, what great times we had in and around Sussex.... You are still good looking Ronnie. 😂😂😘........
Huge boxing fan from the 70's. This is by far the best boxing channel!
This guy doesn't avoid the difficult questions and no matter what gets to the point.
First time finding your channel. Absolutely great interview. Top stuff.
Would love to have a beer with Ronnie. Seems very nice and humble. Never slags people off. That's an art haha

Great interview, interesting and enjoyable. Good to see a proper boxing interview.
Thanks for creating the channel, Tris. Great to have the option to watch now as well as listen to these great interviews. Nice one 👍
Good bloke worked with him 52years ago on a building site in Worthing
Ronnie is a legend, Chris Jr should go back to him and listen now, only thing that can save his career

Fantastic interview 👊
Howard Eastman wow, I used to enjoy watching him.
He’s right about not changing things if you get away with it.
I was in the gym the day Eubank put Graham down. The whole gym come to a standstill. Everyone was stunned. Memorable.
@captain kirk I was training so no idea to be honest. What I do remember about Eubank is nearly tripping over him when I was shadow boxing. His shadow boxing involved back peddling at a fast pace around the whole gym floor. He was a trip hazard. Haha. It was, if memory not failing me, part of the prep for Herol’s shot at McCallum. I remember that Ron Essett who was a No 1 contender to Hagler was brought over from the US to spar with Herol. I think he was there that day Eubank knocked him down In what was Graham’s first visit to the canvas. Essett was sent straight back home as he could do nothing with Herol.
@captain kirk 1989 would be right. At that time Naz was also in there. About 12 but a star of the gym. Johnny Nelson. Brian Anderson. Adam Fogerty etc, etc. Brendan Ingle of course, absolute top man.
@captain kirk can never remember seeing him. Maybe trained different times. Very sad how Herol’s health has not been the best.
@captain kirk To be honest I don’t know the full history of how the style came about. Obviously, Graham led the way when the public became more aware. I don’t know what support if any is given to Graham. You would hope he is being helped by boxing. You are right.
@captain kirk 100% legend.
This is brilliant
Enjoy your content 💯❤️👊🏾
Thank you, Coach

Reminds me of Billy Blundell
You realise from this interview how eubanks junior hasn't got a fraction of his father's character.
