    • @fraserwright9482
      @fraserwright9482 28 дней назад +1

      That is a reflection of the retail profile, Revzilla or a franchise store is a push method, they get a container of Alpine star jackets and review it to sell it then discount it. Fortnine is a pull method, they pick items and only sell those. Although there are hybrid versions of these and sub sections, such as drop ship. Ryan at F9 is there to guide the process, F9 don't need to stock a range of Alpine star jackets, just the one Ryan likes, such as the sunglasses he wears in each video.

    What I think of with the changes in RUclips is like this. When a funky, cool area with a lot of cafes and clubs exists, and people come from all over town to hang out there. After a while, big chain stores and restaurants want in on that foot traffic, which drives up the rents, which forces out all the funky little places, leaving a corporate wasteland of sameness.

    You spoke directly to me as a small channel of about 300 subs. I never expect to make money, I just love the creative, imaginative aspect. Motovlogging gives me an outlet to use the beats that I produce. I’ve had plenty of haters and the way I see it, if my video doesn’t have at least one good hate comment or dislike, then I’m not doing it right. I try to just be as authentic as possible. And I love and appreciate every sub that I have. Wonderful video Yammie, I really like this break from your normal content.

    I think it'd be idealistic if it were always up to the creator and the content they make, to rake in all the profits needed to consistently put out content, but at the same time, reality is that RUclips and internet content in general is the new contemporary media. If it were to gain any sort of validation in this capitalistic economy, it unfortunately requires a higher degree of financial management over artistic/creative management. Selling out is not longer looked down upon, instead is understood as a requirement for any independent to turn over into, unless they have essentially nothing to lose. It's tragic in a sense, but at the same time, I do think it's not impossible to still make creative works while still shilling for products, and often times creators try to be diligent with what they sell to align with what their content is meant to reflect. It sucks but comes with a lot of opportunities, online content creation is no longer a hobby/side hustle, it's a full time job or nothing now.

    I tried to do the YT thing once (documenting the resurrection of a $100 Aprilia). I *quickly* learned that despite having all the passion possible for doing the motorcycle work, the GRIND of shooting the video sapped all the joy right out of me. I think I filmed for 2 or 3 days and gave up filming (not really intentionally, I just realized I'd been working without filming).
    MASSIVE respect gained for those who do produce videos, but I suspect that YT is for camera/video people who also have an interest in something else.

I don't have my bike (yet, getting that money saved up) and I watch motorcycle content to learn and get my motorcycle fix in the mean time. I don't enjoy being constantly sold to - when I'm ready to look into specific gear and such to buy I will purposefully seek that content out, but otherwise I just want vibes.

    The frustrating thing about youtube is that when you are a small channel, but you are willing to put time and effort in your videos you are still in the same boat or more often below people who are doing reactions (AKA stealing other people's content) so you made a few shorts with good results and then youtube decided that the next one only gets 45 views or so, because they chose a bad timing or a group of people. But I get it takes time I guess...

    I've noticed this too. I've been shopping for an adventure bike, specifically looking at the Yamaha T7. The amount of content creators receiving this bike on the terms of a sponsorship makes me question the legitimacy of the reviews.
    And many of the people who receive the bike are usually very very skilled riders. Not representative of an average rider's skillset but it's there to convince buyers "if i buy this, I can do this too" on a 450lb motorcycle. Just flinging these bikes around jumps and singing the bikes' praises. Marketing knows their audience. It's effective, but it seems ingenuine.

Ultimatley riders are riders and it should be all in good fun and I hate to see the HD guys in particular trash other riders for what they ride or whatever. Besides Yammie Noob, my favorite motorcycle channel is Harley Geezer. An old guy in Florida with about 5K subscribers who is like talking with your grandpa whos been riding way longer than you've been alive. No negative talk on anyone just a chill conversation and maybe some minor product reviews with no sponsorship and corporate manipulation. And Gixxerfoo... love him too. Two of the videos I really look forward to every Friday. HD centric for sure but no negative BS cuz we all get enough of that these days.

    It's interesting viewing it compared to legacy stuff, like magazines. There's a reason they all settled on a monthly publication. There's in reality only so much that happens in a focused area (ie motorcycles.) RUclips presses for daily content.. seriously, how much really changed in 24 hours? I'm happier with fewer vids with real content, not just filler to feed the algos. Anyway, really enjoy your channel, Spite's, and all the work y'all and your people put into it.

I love the classical music, the updates on old formats and intros, and countless times you have sent me down a rabbit hole with the fact of the day. And I get a little excited when I recognize you recorded another 'keep watching" bit for the end. If you're looking for an atta boy, well, the Hunter S. Thompson remark was it. It's been 8 years since I started riding and have used review content to help buy a lot of gear over that time, more so later on as the amount of choice has sky rocketed it's a golden age. But being outside of the states I then choose the cheaper outlet online or a local shop to try on said gear before buying it. Thats great, that's what those channels do and those big companies should stay in their lane. I've watched ol yamms here because it was relatable and motivational to ride more as he express's the fun things that is motorcycles Your authentic and that's what gets the views. It comes down to a trust triangle Facts/information, empathy and authenticity.
    example: watch a review it's got the facts a good product name brand and all about it's construction. Their authentic (a real shop "realish riders") it's not a dodgy third world broken English accent person talking. Only leaving them being empathic which if they just shout "BUY MY GEAR from XX large company" your less likely to trust them. which they do so instead they've done these "ride videos" to appear more empathic, right they riders to we "care"

There is only that much gear someone can wear and only that many products reviews someone can watch. I'd rather watch small channel like the guy who went of roadding with his Hayabusa 😂😂 Or mechanic fixing some 20 years old bikes. Stuff like that.
