Portugal: wasted so many chances and so much potential lol. Great economy, what do we use it for? 1) Retarded incompetence at capturing Seoul, which could provide crucial advantage 2) Being quite capable of taking Utrecht and honestly maybe even more... and retreating fleets 3) Having frigates when Byz was stuck on ancient ships... and even attacking them... and again retreating with such advantage... 4) Byzantium, the clear imminent hegemon, has its all armies in opposite part of the map, occupied with somebody else? Strategic crucial south island is ready to attack? Nah, let's lose all our manpower on Dutch and be left as the only remaining opponent of now like 2x stronger Byzantium! Not only they failed to do anything properly, maybe if not their attacks on Netherlands the Dutch would be capable of killing Byz. Netherlands: That killsteal of Spain straight from Byz hands was great move... But they were less focused than Byz and had bad luck with Portugal. Byzantium: Excellent performance the entire time, just proffesional competence. Korea: can anybody explain to me how the hell they could fuck up their basic pop growth so badly? Exact same starting conditions as Byz and by turn 100 Byz has 24 pop and Korea 4? Perfect set of uniques to win this map, and they couldn't even properly get out of an ancient age... on a map without barbarians or early invasions. Tl;dr Byzantium was a proffesional, Portugal was drunk, Netherlands were not good enough, Korea was mentally handicapped and Spain just didn't care.
Dromons protect Byz like Royal Navy protect the UK. I actually thought Byz was falling behind when they stopped with Varna and their tech isnt that far ahead either, but then global politics kick in.
+Rovsea Dromon. And yeah, Byzantium is perhaps the most dangerous opponent in the entire game if you've got a lot of coastal cities in the early game. It's an advantage that is quickly lost, but if you get to properly utilize it, it will probably win you the game. The good news against Byzantium is that the window of opportunity they have for using the ship is quite small. Also, to be fair, the AI is always retarded.
Korea: They cant conquer your entire island if you never had an entire island to begin with. Spain: Currently the winner of most mediocre player of Civ BR for 28 games in a row Portugal: Focus on taking on the growing threat of the Byzantine Empire? Nah, lets fuck up the dutch! Netherlands: If we dont move, maybe they wont notice us. Dont worry, those citadels are probably being placed out of friendship. Byzantine: Popping out 5 cities from the start, and stealing your opponents island wins you the game. Who would have thunk?
Ah comon, the dutch AI finally did something, i was so proud of them! they never seem to do much in other battles. surviving for as long as they did in madrid was pretty great though.
Blue dudes were like "Yo let's protect the orange dudes from the white dudes! Orange dudes our friend now!" and then that awkward pause when there could be only one winner. So you have to kill your friend/pet to end the game.

The Byzantines attack Portugal, so they retaliate by attacking the Koreans?! Well I guess that is what happens when you are sandwiched between two more powerful empires except this time there is no Yi Sun-Sin.
@@MadPutzyeah nah it was only in the early 20th century that Japan had the upper hand against Korea. Throughout history, Japan was almost always at the receiving end of 'civilization'. Sure, Japan always tried to invade Korea, but to no avail until the early 20c.
you gotta respect Biz for keeping the Dutch like that yea we're chill you go take Portugal while we just enjoy our only standing city with no chance of getting anothet
I am shocked to see the Byzantines actually win. Most games I play with them involve them being decapitated way too easily. It is as if their AI behavior is self-destructive.. Guess I am wrong.
Can we have a moment to be thankful we don't live in Busan? That poor city saw more wars and armies pass through its streets than any real world cities.
How could Byzantium produce so many nuclear missiles? There are at least 30 of them in submarines. I can see only 1 uranium source above Seoul, even with autocracy Byzantium could'nt get 60+ of uranium.
I wonder how the AI would do where its a single space island, that or this kinda map but no connecting coasts so it takes until caravels till they meet each other.
Idea for next games: "Medieval unique unit" civs (you did "ancient civs") Songhai, Arabia, China, Japan, Korea, Siam, Mongolia, Denmark, Zulu bonus points for max tech level being actually medieval Later same with Renaissance
Wow I thought Korea was going to win at first since its unique is the strongest among all. But she can't even survive the ancient period. Nice to see Byzantium win.
after seeing that korea didn't make a second city i thought to myself "i bet the byzantines put a city there those cheeky lads" because ai byzantines just tend to in my experience. glad i was right

The Byzantine galley ship (forget its name) is pretty OP, to be fair.
Korea was sadly just an early game chewing toy.
:(
Dromons protect Byz like Royal Navy protect the UK. I actually thought Byz was falling behind when they stopped with Varna and their tech isnt that far ahead either, but then global politics kick in.
Yup, Portuguese were the masters of incompetence in this game

Ah yes, the "5 warriors before anything else" build order by Korea, truly a classic.
Lmao
It's like they knew everyone was going to try to invade them lol

For a moment I was scared Portugal can actually do something competent
Lol dutch madrid was the winner for me
Korea: "This is fine."
KOREAN:not fineㅠㅠ
Did- did the Byzantine just win their first game?
dude that map is so amazing and I love it, it got me excited.
A sea battle where Korea can't build turtleships... Thanks for playing, better luck next time!
Rematch requested. Korean AI machine broke.
Korea be like "1 city strat is best strat, I actually built Busan and Jeonju for Portugal anyway."
Korean AI couldn't decide between tall and wide development, so it just combined worst traits of both without their advantages
Every singleplayer civ game ever:
The person you are trading with has -500 gold per turn. *eyes their massive, basically unit spam, army*
You could do a map where literally every tile is salt and see how that goes
You mean everyone have a lot of production and food and have epic battles?
+Card Battler
Yes, that is exactly what he means ^^
+1 from me to this suggestion. The video could be called something salty.
Ironic if Carthage would win that one.
Blue dudes were like "Yo let's protect the orange dudes from the white dudes! Orange dudes our friend now!" and then that awkward pause when there could be only one winner. So you have to kill your friend/pet to end the game.
The netherlands does what it does best, defeat spain
Watching an AI-only play session can be quite mesmerizing.
right! I just spend the past 15 minutes watching this.

6:17 -- "We Coo Right?" -Dutch
How do they build cities so close?
There's only 2 tiles between the cities.
These are so satisfying to watch. I must find more of these.
lol Before the game start I thought korea had this, i thought they would be ahead in technology and just win but they did nothing. F for Korea
Koreans losing in a video game? What kind of sorcery is this?
They were scientically hindered. (Despite being a science based civilization)
Also, your username is contradictory
Byzantium with the very aggressive forward settle on Korea 🤣
It's amazing what you can do when happiness is not a constraint
Epic war Byzance-Portugal !
0:28 Look at Varna
Thats just a big middle finger to Korea
Beat their population in like 25 turns too.
The Byzantines attack Portugal, so they retaliate by attacking the Koreans?! Well I guess that is what happens when you are sandwiched between two more powerful empires except this time there is no Yi Sun-Sin.
YAY I FINALLY GEUSSED A VICTORY RIGHT
If korea expanded eariler, they could have gotten to Turtle ships and shit on everyone easy.
Soundtracks of tgese videos are always so kickass.
Raksody The first one was from Made in Abyss, a god-tier anime with a god-tier soundtrack
I look away for 10 seconds then each of the civs have armies of like 20
Oh man, this is a great setup for Korea, they're gonna-
Goddammit, you had ONE JOB!
Just like real history. Sandwiched by China and Japan.
@@MadPutzyeah nah it was only in the early 20th century that Japan had the upper hand against Korea. Throughout history, Japan was almost always at the receiving end of 'civilization'. Sure, Japan always tried to invade Korea, but to no avail until the early 20c.
Well done Portugal, well done in taking out the Dutch
HOWEVER
Really thought Portugal was going to win it this time
The full out war between Portugal and Byzantium was honestly pretty cool
you gotta respect Biz for keeping the Dutch like that
yea we're chill you go take Portugal while we just enjoy our only standing city with no chance of getting anothet
First two seconds of the video and I already love it. That song is one of my favourites on the Made in Abyss OST
As soon as the great wall went up I couldn't see Byzantium loosing a defensive war and they pretty much won by a landslide.
losing
The civ more agressive from the beginning win at the end...
So basically, Korea and Byzantium were at war for like 1300 years straight.
Korea just didnt care anymore and the dutch missed a lot of opportunities. Also that dutch Madrid at the end was hilarious.
Weird that the blue guys let them live for so long
I once got a 61 pop city (Constantinople) as Byzantium. Brings back memories, even though I couldn't get a cultural victory in that game.
very good music choice friend
Can't believe Madrid pulled a "¡No Pasarán!" until being the last one standing
Madrid had already been taken by the Netherlands...
That was revenge for the dutch war for independence
Korea settled their cities too late
I miss the day when you can expand your territory to 11 tiles away
War. War never changes. Especially if it goes on for multiple centuries.
Wow these are actually super interesting to watch.
I am shocked to see the Byzantines actually win. Most games I play with them involve them being decapitated way too easily. It is as if their AI behavior is self-destructive.. Guess I am wrong.
I was waiting for this🔥
The original battle royale
Was sure Byz was gonna win. Bonus religion slot can give you A LOT.
Nahhhh the great wall not covering THOSE 2 tiles is killing me, IGE edit that shit😭😂
"We cool, we cool." - The Dutch, probably
Lol, the Dutch still got 2nd
Some civs lasted way longer then they had any right to
They all had the same start and everything right?, how did Korea screw up so damn badly?
Can we have a moment to be thankful we don't live in Busan? That poor city saw more wars and armies pass through its streets than any real world cities.
So happy you stopped having England on these water-based maps, it makes for much more exciting content
Might as well stop using Korea. I honestly belive they can't win even if they start in modern age vs everyone in Ancient.
why korea has 1city during byzantium 5 cities?
불곰 Byzantium are notorious annoying city spammers
Because of their genius 5 warriors before anything else build plan.
white falls, madrid: "oh shit"
Spanish Netherlands? How about Nethelandish Spain
The made in abyss music 😢
where can i get that map? can you please send that map to me?
Once they got The Great Wall, they had a tremendous defense, and it was game over for everyone else.
Pleasantly surprised with the video starting off with a Made in Abyss piece.
so thats what it was, i was sitting there like where have i heard this from
NEVER screw with Byzantium without thinking it through. She's beaten me a number of times, whether in score or war
How could Byzantium produce so many nuclear missiles? There are at least 30 of them in submarines. I can see only 1 uranium source above Seoul, even with autocracy Byzantium could'nt get 60+ of uranium.
Those aren't all nuclear, some are probably "Guided Missiles"
Can you have a game with only "Asian" nations?
You can in civ 6
Constantinople literally had the game won from 1 minute in and then spent the whole rest of the game trying to throw. They almost managed to lose.
really interessting to see how the AI works
To day's lesson. Even you are op civilization do not build only one city
Oh hell, did you throw battlefield 2 modern combat's theme in? Nostalgi'ing
Saaaaaaaame. Instantly got Bridge Too Far memories
That anime music tho
Can you do mass effect mod AI only? Excluding reaper civ so only 18 civs, or make 3 groups of 6 for other civs and reaper alone
How do you use this map? It looks really fun to play with friends but I cant figure out how to get it into the game using the download provided
Oh god, that made in abyss ost.
Oh I see you're a man of culture as well
Game ends at :29 when Byzantium settles it's 5th city.
the song of made in abyss in the start i love that song
I wonder how the AI would do where its a single space island, that or this kinda map but no connecting coasts so it takes until caravels till they meet each other.
0:00 - 1:09 made in abyss ost those everyday feels
"But can we do the Netherland second?"
I don't understand how they founded other cities. Isn't a game limit for placing cities is for them to be 3 tiles away from each other?
The islands are 7 tiles wide with each city in the center. They could have at least 4-5 per island, not sure exactly how many.
Didnt expect to hear made in abyss in here
Byzantium: " I got a Great Wall, down to hell you go !"
Is that song from Food Wars at 1:50?
no.
Funny thing about this channel is that it gets maaaaddd views, but no subscribers.
lol
Idea for next games:
"Medieval unique unit" civs (you did "ancient civs")
Songhai, Arabia, China, Japan, Korea, Siam, Mongolia, Denmark, Zulu
bonus points for max tech level being actually medieval
Later same with Renaissance
Yeah but use the Tojo mod so Oda isn't stuck with the Zero and gets a dojo instead.
Wow I thought Korea was going to win at first since its unique is the strongest among all. But she can't even survive the ancient period. Nice to see Byzantium win.
Sailing ships going to combat next to modern battleships. Only in Civ.
On another note, Constantinople wins again of course.
after seeing that korea didn't make a second city i thought to myself "i bet the byzantines put a city there those cheeky lads" because ai byzantines just tend to in my experience. glad i was right
*Japan 1940 simulator *
I know I'm bad at this game but those unit numbers were insane. Some of those armies got to ridiculous sizes
A moment of silence for Korea.
Always that one AI that drags their feet early on
My Dutch Boi made it to second place!
I'd say third. In fact I'm sure Willaim was kept alive to be Theodora's bitch.
That moment when you realize the Netherlands aren’t out yet
Huh?
Made in abyss theme! The best anime
