Lol. Worst people ever I have seen anywhere in India. Too arrogant and ghamandi for no reason. I heard this about a lot of people but I believed when I visited chennai myself. From starting to end not a single person was good.

Especially trichy is more hotter than any place in TN but i don't know why I stayed at trichy for a week and it's was so freakin hot than in Chennai,kovai etc!

Hi, very happy to hear the good comments from you about chennai airport. Thank you so much. Also inviting you to visit Chennai to have a nice trip to Mahabalipuram, Marina Beach and Centuries old Temples and the fantasitc food trip.
Airports are so huge these days and comfortable. I like Narita and Haneda in Japan as there is everything there. Lots of space to sleep or take a massage in a chair. Singapore Chiangi is also on another level of comfort. Hong Kong is also very comfortable. Asia in general there is such good service and clear signage. I found European airports more of a struggle. Bad signs or poorly placed. A good look at an airport map if essential these days. Business class can be wonderful but first we have to find the lounge. Not obvious.
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at Chennai airport. Though I'm curious if you came here on your return leg as well. The reason I'm asking is that the airport uses its dingy old terminal (from the 1980s) for international arrivals. Especially during peak hours, it tends to get very cramped and immigration becomes a nightmare. The construction work for the new terminal that's going on since forever is also a nuisance.
However, the good thing is that once the new terminal gets completed, international arrivals are set to move there.
My wish is that the airport management soon moves to a public-private partnership like the other big Indian airports so that things become smoother.
Do plan a proper trip to Chennai (perhaps including the nearby Mahabalipuram) soon. It is a one-of-a-kind city. It is pretty easy to travel there from Bangalore. The Shatabdi express will bring you there in 5 hours and I find it much more convenient than flying.

I have been travelling to UK via Chennai. Everything in the airport is good except toilets. Very bad. No maintenance.
It was so less crowded as if it was exclusively made more space for u 😊😊 .. It's nice when we try to see good in all, we will just happen to hit good.. U got a episode in transit also

You being a person living in Bengaluru, I am perhaps many others too, would be curious about your opinions on which is a better city: Bengaluru or Chennai. Similarly, I was actually expecting more of a comparison of both the airports in this video itself.
There are usually a lot of comparisons between these 2 cities, perhaps since they are among the largest South Indian cities. Until 2 decades back, Chennai was the gateway to South India, which seems to be replaced by bengaluru. So there's always this comparison between Chennai & Bengaluru.

I have more than once spent about 12 hours at Toronto Airport coming from Portland Oregon to Toronto to catch my connecting flight to Mumbai by Air Canada. I too spent it in the business class lounge where food and drink flowed.
Mumbai is also hot and humid!

We chennai people learn from our bangalore brothers and our bangalore brothers learn from us. If both cities develop we india would be proud collectively. Let's be more peaceful and friendly dear bangalorean brothers and sisters as a chennaiite it's my appeal that we should work collectively and improve as a whole. Chennai Airport is not big and was just remodel of existing airport, not like new airports of Bangalore or Hyderabad. Mumbai T2 is the best for timepass. They could've allowed advance check in and metro terminal is connected to Chennai Airport and marina beach ( longest beach in India or some people claim Asia) is only about 30 min ride by metro +5 min uber..Next time maybe can try going out if you have 7 or 8 hours
Advance check in was not there as I was switching between a domestoc flight and intnl flight (from 2 different airlines😅). So to go out with 30+ kgs of luggage was just too much hahah But really the airport was so tranquil, surprised me a lot!
The plane you had seen at 2:26 is a 737-800 of Jet Airways, which was shut down recently. 4 of the 737s have been leased to SpiceJet. Hence, you saw the Jet Airways 737 with Spice Jet written on it. And saldy, it's one of the worst ranked airport out of the 4 metropolitan airports of India.

I'm sorry but Chennai airport is the worst airport in India and immigration officers are not only rude towards foreigners but also towards Indian nationals. It's very dirty too and when I was waiting in line for security, army people were squeezing through the crowd and I almost got hit by a gun in my face. No comparison to Bangalore airport s well. I don't understand how somebody can make that comparison.
This was my experience and I really enjoyed it. Also upon return immigration officers were actually quite friendly (as far as they're allowed) So maybe you just had a bad day?
@@IvanaPerkovicOfficial I don't think so. It's a known problem to them. My fiancé had the same experience couple weeks back. They even have signs at the waiting gates, where they direct people not to complain about immigration officers to them, but to do it online.
But if they hired more polite staff in recent months that is a very welcome progress. And I'm glad you had a good experience.

@@jesa7747 The airport does not hire immigration officers - I suspect they have no control who the officers are - so I wouldn't blame the airport management for immigration officers. I have had no problems the times I have gone through the airport.
