My setup is the same(you inspired me 😊). For a long time I felt it should ALL be digital but then would get pulled to paper. But paper distracted me with stickers, etc. Now using the paper for a daily focus list and the bulk of info in notion works so well!!!

Awww, I'm so glad you found the perfect combo!! 👏🏻 It really is the best.

You described almost exactly my planner life ! I went through everything like you, and today I’m in Notion for everything but I keep the BuJo for the daily to-do (like you, I can’t do it on a computer) and for a view of the months - and also to play with colored pens and stickers and washi tape. And Google calendar for the appointments and such. Thanks for the video !

It's fun to still be able to have a space for pretty things and creative designs with pens and washi! Love hearing each person's perspective. Thank you for sharing!

another vote for a time-blocking video! I've gone through planner stages, too! I currently have a paper planner and notion, as well as a very neglected bullet journal...trying to decide if I will go back to the bullet journal (+Notion). I'm leaning in that direction because I like the option of having a smaller or larger daily log depending on my mood and needs. Thanks for getting me thinking with this video!

You're welcome! I have considered getting an actual planner for 2024 to use alongside Notion, but haven't pulled the trigger yet for the same things you mentioned-I really love that a daily list can be as long or as short as you like when you use a blank notebook!

Enjoyed this video! It's making me focus on the friction points with my current system...looking forward to the next video! Thank you!

Kalyn, thank you so much for this video! ❤This has helped me so much and encouraged me to go all out now with my bullet journal journey [ as well as Notion!!! 😍 ] I am still trying to figure out how to organize myself and everything time-wise. I really appreciate your insight into what you have tried and how it has worked. I love the bullet journals as well but I am not very far into my journey. I am also just starting out with Notion. I am a little afraid of the tech part but excited as well! Thank you again! I can't wait for Part 2!!! 🤗

Yay! I love hearing when others also decide to do a Notion + bullet journal combo. I think it works SO well! I missed publishing that video this week (it's filmed and partially edited), but it WILL be done by Thursday of this week. :)

I would love a tutorial about time blocking in Google Calendar. As far as Notion replacing all the other things you were using, are you able to use it to store documents, etc like in Evernote?

I was hoping someone would be interested! And yes, you can upload documents into the body of the page, or create a File property in a database and upload it into the page. You can see how I do this in my Medical Visit Log video!

I am still loving my bullet journal BUT after watching your video, I realize I use it now just like you do. It's my daily lists and monthly brain dumps with an occasional other note or list. So, maybe you will bring me into Notion yet! 😊 It is definitely getting more intriguing! Loved looking through all your planning eras with you! ❤

Yes! I didn't really need to draw out a calendar or any other complicated layouts in a bullet journal. The lists work great! And I think Notion could really help organize some blogging business things for you. But maybe not until you finish the school year. 😂

Have you seen the Anchored Women S.O.S. Planner (printable)? Found Kayse by chance through a GOHQ virtual summit. I was also lost in an all-digital approach, but was struggling with the traditional paper planners even though I enjoy paper planners. I needed a flexible paper planner to consolidate the various calendars (work, family, personal). The S.O.S. planner has been a great solution. I can print whatever layout or layouts I want and skip any pages I'm not using. Because I use the half page, discbound setup, I can carry as much or as little of the planner as I want and add my own pages (notebook pages, to-do lists, long-term projects, gratitude, next year ahead) and change layouts as needed throughout the year (e.g. add a daily layout if actually needed).
Because I am also "not an artist," I bought the whole planner in my first year and then buy the Update Pack annually with the dated monthly pages and any new layouts to save me a lot of time and use those monthly pages to frame the rest of my weekly pages. There are plenty of printable covers, too. I use a clear Staples ARC cover on the front and back, so I can print or draw whatever personal cover and back I want to bookend the planner pages. I then keep that whole thing protected with a larger, thicker ARC faux leather cover, so it's not destroyed going in and out of my bag.
My favorite layout is the 2-page weekly time block because I prefer to have dated weeks and use the boxes loosely as morning, daytime (mostly work), and evening, but also as areas for lists (chores, projects, whatever) and other info as needed (e.g. event details like time and place). It's so flexible and that's only one layout!
Kayse has plenty of 1-page and 2-page options and has some RUclips videos reviewing the layouts in detail. If also looking to stay on budget, they are cheapest at the lauches (October for Jan-Dec), but even at full price it's well worth the money.

Just thought I'd share since I find it helpful and we seem to have experienced some similar challenges and wins. GLHF.

Yep! I loved that she includes the current week on a dashboard page. It’s been so helpful!
