- I've always had a certain respect for fighting games even if it's not my cup of tea, however platform fighters have been getting a pretty big resurgence again whether its with smash ultimate ending its DLC or talking about newer ones recently coming out, so today I'll be talking about Playstation's failed attempt at a platform fighter, what worked, what didn't work and why I think it deserves better than to be remembered as just a clone.

Now that I think about it. It is supprising that nobody modded PlayStation All-Stars or even made fan games for it.
The fan games bit probably speaks volume to how much people cared about the game. But the modding bit might be because of some copyright issue or the game can't be modded for some reason.

This is game that deserves a sequel.. A SEQUEL!
Kat is actually the best fighter. I used to think that having an overpowered character to be at the top of the food chain would make the game cool but it really just creates a smash 4 scenario (Bayonetta was really making things un-fun at the end). Developers gotta remember the importance of strengths and weaknesses
Ed Boon (the guy who made Mortal Kombat and Injustice) teased on twitter last year that he wanted to see a sequel to PSASBR, so i definitely think there is a possibility that it could happen
PSASBR grew on me over the years. While the roster is odd (why 2 Cole's), it did bring some old faces back into the limelight. The stage transitions were incredibly cool. I do wish the game gets a sequel, mostly to see where they can improve on the roster and gameplay. It should have a second chance.
Potential for a new PlayStation crossover fighter is there. I hope Sony comes back to this idea, someday.
I didn't really care about this game that much, back when it was released, but years later, just something about it made me come back to it and after learning about the hell the developers had to deal with behind the scenes with why certain decisions were made and why certain characters didn't come in, I have a lot of respect for this series and all I can hope for is that one day, Sony officially announces either a reboot or sequel to this game.
Get the right folks onboard, give them proper support and proper marketing, and just make a damn good PlayStation All-Stars game.

Funny you mention NetherRealm. I was joking that they could do it since Ed Boon made a tweet on twitter the other day about Sony doing another one.

Nice to see more people talking about PlayStation All Star. This video is great. I find it a shame that Sony didn’t give the game a second chance since they had a good idea on paper. It could’ve been the Tekken to Street Fighter.
Also I don’t know if you know this game but there is a underrated platform fighter called Newgrounds Rumble. Newgrounds Rumble is a crossover platform fighter that features Newgrounds characters released in 2007 made in Flash. It’s honestly impressive how the game was made if you compare it to other games such as Super Smash Flash 1 and multiple Flash fighting games. It’s a love letter to Newgrounds and I highly recommend giving it a try on Newgrounds. I don’t know if you want to make a video about it but if you want to then reply to this comment because I know a lot of information about this game.

I remember playing the game back in 2014! I always played as Sackboy and my Older brother (by 1 year) always played as Parappa, then a few years later we replaced our ps3 with an Xbox 1 and our dad threw away our ps5... Or at least we thought!
