I feel like allowing the pokemon to evolve even if you have to restrict them to evolve late makes sense as most late game rocket grunts do have evolved pokes. respect for playing through the game with unevolved pokes tho.
@@serge2cool I have seen enough runs from other people to say that's is inaccurate because limiting your team moves and being strategic with evolved forms is better than just power leveling, and besides the challenge he has proposed is "Can you beat the game as a Rocket Grunt" not "Can you beat the game as a Rocket Grunt from Mount Moon"
I wish they made a Pokémon Video game where it lets you play as Team Rocket (Jessie, James and Meowth) the whole time, your goal is to dominate the entire world and that will be a fantastic game.
You should do a series of playing through with the champion's team, but unevolved. So in Red, you would use: pidgy, abra, ryhorn, magicarp, eggecute, charmander. You could swap the charmander for a growlith, to fit the possible teams your rival would have without a starter.
It must cost you a lot of hours to finally bet the game without evolving. And still you past the challenge with determination. You deserve a subscribe!
I love this idea! I always wanted a game totally focused on an evil team. It's why Colosseum will forever be my favorite Pokemon game. It's the only game where you're a bit of an anti-hero

Gen 4 as a Team Galactic Grunt is not a fun challenge. Cynthia will bury you up to your neck in hot tar and then laugh at your misfortune. Trust me.

Did you ever play Gen 2? If so then you would know for sure that Team Rocket (especially in that game) frequently also use Grimer/Muk which I remember because I really enjoyed wrecking them with my Espeon.
Very cool romhack and cool idea here! There are a few Pokemon you could've added to your Team Rocket team...you mentioned Drowzee and Meowth, but you forgot about Grimer, Machop, and Sandshrew! These probably could've helped with some of your TM needs too...totally caught your random HM slaves (and back-up mons?) in your party when your Pokemon fainted =) I'm also surprised you don't seem to be evolving your Pokemon...Arbok, Weezing, Raticate, and Golbat were Team Rocket staples! They even had Raticate the first time you encountered them in Mt. Moon!

It's just so frustrating that you don't evolve anything. I get it's for *challenge*. But I just don't get the point if you have to rely on haxx or powerlevel through obstacles like gyms and such. It's just not fun to watch. And I can hardly see how you'd be able to find enjoyment in doing it. So what's the deal ?
I was considering doing this run, thing is we know now that pretty much ANY pokemon can beat fire red ort basically any game at level 100, so more than 1 pokemon is a sure thing. still fun
There’s only one Rocket member who owns a Cubone. It’s one of the Rocket Brothers from Sliph Co. Cubone is my fav Pokèmon so I tend to notice who has one on their team in the games. Especially if it’s with someone who typically wouldn’t have one like a Rocket Grunt
So, Red maintained the Championship about as long as Blue did. That's kind of amusing that the title had three people holding it all on the same day. Also: A suggestion: Try a playthrough as one of the Gym Leaders now. Pick one and only use the team they confront the player with.

Drowzee had multiple anime appearances where team rocket used one to hypnotize and steal entire cities of pokemon, was a key member in the only other named rocket team in all of pokemon: butch and Cassidy! Plus refusing to evolve?! Smh
I know it wouldn't have been practical due to time and all but I would've loved to see the dialogue between the gym leaders and the player as a rocket member.
