@ThePinkPantha yep they do use auto transmissions, there was a Toyota supra that ran 8.7 secs 1/4 mile with an automatic racing transmission

when i made this post to be honest i had never driven faster than 13 sec and rode in a 10 sec car.
you are very right, lol. but to add to that so you know im not that retarted, it also depends on the type of car, most tuners like you said down to 8 sec are going to be manual. where as most muscle cars running 11 sec or faster are automatic.
which when i say automatic, I mean ANYTHING without a clutch or less than 4 gears. But i do stand corrected on my previous post ;)
that is insain i gotta 2005 srt4 and would love to set it up with a stroker motor but it probably costs a alot of money to set it up
dame when they start making autos for the real srt 4 not the heavey ass calibers. that why i love my neon!

Does this mean you can stick the dcr engine and put it on a 700r transmission in another car? I want to stick this engine in a 2 door Chevy caprice just to freak people out. And if it would run and drive correctly I would do it in a heartbeat

What tranny is it based on? I ask because I own the Mexican market Chrysler Cirrus 2005 (Sebring) with the same engine as the SRT-4 but with the Autostick 41TE. Do you know how many HPs does the 41TE support? What modifications would you recommend?
hey does srt-4's come with autotransmission becuase i was thinking of getting one and wht is the year they stop making these becuase i need to see if the latest one comes with navigation

How come they never show a time or time slip. Seems kinda fishy. Its a fast car but damn. a little proof would have been nice.. All that money and its basically an 11 second car. It dont matter. It could be a 9 sec car. At the end of the day its still a NEON

it's pretty obvious that they are quicker and you have more control over the car. if you don't believe me read about it / google it.
@gydzter23 haha muscle cars is a whole different story haha, I rarely see a 4-speed, they are usually all autos. not trying to call you out by the way, I re-read my post and I was like "wow, I'm a dick" didn't mean for it to come out that way haha.

Professional drag racers use automatics. They're much faster on the strip if theyre the right ones. but Manuals are much more fun!

actually if you have been to a REAL drag strip with REAL cars.. and im talking cars that run 11 and under quarters you would know that they are mostly auto's and that all cars i'd say that run 10's and under are autos.
why dont you take the time to look up or talk to real racers and see why auto's are better instead of just assuming your typical manual is better.. even though its kind of obvious they lose traction and have much shorter gears but whatever. you can look it up.
