I love that you do alot Zep bootleg material. Really refreshing from the studio albums and well known concerts. There is this one concert in Houston sometime in 1970 where they open with an interpretation of For What It's Worth at the start of How Many More Times. Such a beautiful riff and just shows how versatile they could be live. Anything could happen when they got on stage..
I love the walkdown in B. I know you do a fair amount of barring or what some would say double stopping with your pinkie which I find very interesting. That is another gem JJ. Thank you. Pete
beautiful les paul, what year is that ? awesome cover, and agree Pagey likes the middle pickup, then the neck for the solo (like u did) great job🎸🤘🏻👍🏼. I subscribed ☺️
Yea that solo lol you really almost not hear Jimmie in the mix their, one of Jimmy's favourite to do live that's for sure .oh well nice recovery on the solo JJ you got out of it just in time to nail the intro riff . Thanks for posting and sharing Godbless
I've caught a lot of the Earl's Court songs onYT and thought they were terrific, especially the acoustic stuff. Am hopeful they'll release the whole thing as a concert DVD. In E on this one? Like you said, the timing's tough on this one.
For the rhythm section bend that jimmy adds in the live version (e.g. at 0:30), are you using a cocked wah toe down or going toe down on the wah there to boost the treble (similar to Whole Lott’s Love solo)?
I was curious as to what model settings etc you are using on that Vypyer to get that tone. I've got Plexi's that don't sound that close to the real thing.
Hey James, what was that lick you played from 0:37 to 0:49? I watched the video on your channel and you showed us how to do the album version of that little riff, not this one. Thanks in advance!
I reckon Page used the middle pickup position for the majority of this tune...I see you using the neck pickup for the solo, are you using the bridge pickup for main rhythm parts?
I agree...though the Middle pickup position has been his main "go to" position, the amps on the '75 tour didn't respond very well to it. I believe the amps were the most important part of the equation over and above the guitar used.
Playing-wise, I prefer the Deluxe because the neck and the frets are massive. Tone-wise, they're very different. The Deluxe has all the custom wiring, the minis, the Super Distortion in the middle. Not really all that comparable in tone. If I had to choose, I'd go with the Deluxe. But maybe that's just because I haven't had it as long and it feels like a new girlfriend.
Best description of a new guitar ever, James. I like these too, its odd that Pete in recent years has talked so much dirt about Gibson's. This is the guitar I always picture him with. Where did you pick this one up?
I love Pagey's recorded work and tasteful delivery but live he sometimes took some liberties that weren't that great! I have cd boot of the mid 70's tour when he started using b bender Tele on Ten Years Gone and don't like it! Don't like seeing a jukebox on stage note for note but it's gotta be fresh but Jimmy was pretty out of it those years too! Saw him drooling during his laser pyramid guitar solo with The Firm

One of if not my favourite Led Song early version. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🎸 unreal scenes!
It always amazes me how Page concocted all these weird chord progressions and phrases and you pick them out.
Led Zepp forever!
Great !! Forgot about this gem
I sure do like your taste in music . thanks for posting!
What a killer song!
Your seamless left hand work with those horribly awkward looking chords is very impressive
Man I like that t-shirt. Great video, too.
Love the shirt!!! And the Zep! :)
And then there was Zeppelin!!!🙌🙌🔥🔥
That guitar is so beautiful 🤙🏼 nice cover buddy
I love the walkdown in B. I know you do a fair amount of barring or what some would say double stopping with your pinkie which I find very interesting. That is another gem JJ. Thank you. Pete
You got it.
Love the 'burst!
The lighting was particularly favorable yesterday.
Looks killer! - sounds good too :-)
The hardware has that nice tarnished look. Are those the stock pups?
Everything stock. I've never polished it or cleaned it once. Authentic relic!
The best kind
You know what Simo says? "don't clean it, you've earned that dirt."
the intro sounded like u were going to play "for ur love" by the yardbirds.
beautiful les paul, what year is that ?

great job🎸🤘🏻👍🏼. I subscribed ☺️
You Sick Bastard everyday playing better and better you're like wine man!! keep on doing your videos such a great player! cheers.!!
where do you get the shirt?
I didnt know Earls Court was so small.
For rock shows, it could hold around 20,000 people. That's as big as Madison Square Garden.
Yea that solo lol you really almost not hear Jimmie in the mix their, one of Jimmy's favourite to do live that's for sure .oh well nice recovery on the solo JJ you got out of it just in time to nail the intro riff . Thanks for posting and sharing Godbless
Jimmy always seems to be keeping his own time on the outro solo on the live versions of this song...and others!
@@jamesjames9275 I feel like he was still pulling that on the Celebration Day Reunion... he will just drift off... it's a beautiful thing.
I've caught a lot of the Earl's Court songs onYT and thought they were terrific, especially the acoustic stuff. Am hopeful they'll release the whole thing as a concert DVD. In E on this one? Like you said, the timing's tough on this one.
You can get the whole show in near-perfect quality on eBay for a few bucks.
For the rhythm section bend that jimmy adds in the live version (e.g. at 0:30), are you using a cocked wah toe down or going toe down on the wah there to boost the treble (similar to Whole Lott’s Love solo)?
No, and I don't think Jimmy did either.
I was curious as to what model settings etc you are using on that Vypyer to get that tone. I've got Plexi's that don't sound that close to the real thing.
Try a Twin with boost.
"Dewww it dewww ittt"

A to G to A to G to a first position A.
Trying to figure out the chords you did in the live version for the chorus
Looks like an A and a D chord. Hand positions look virtually identical to how Page used to play Communication Breakdown
Is that a standard? Or a custom reissue?
I reckon Page used the middle pickup position for the majority of this tune...I see you using the neck pickup for the solo, are you using the bridge pickup for main rhythm parts?
He used the middle pickup for most of the songs in '75 tour. I hate that tone, to be honest.
James James I think it worked out for some songs, but definitely not for Stairway or Dazed
I agree...though the Middle pickup position has been his main "go to" position, the amps on the '75 tour didn't respond very well to it. I believe the amps were the most important part of the equation over and above the guitar used.
Was it the amps or the Showco equipment? I'm not a fan of some of the '75 guitar tone and I don't know why. Always chalked it up to dry soundboards.
Showco was just the lighting as far as I know, but maybe they used their PA equipment too?
What model Tokai is that? I have an 85' LS-200 custom order cherry burst thing is so good I sold my collector's choice Gibson
That’s a Gibson, a Standard.
What pedals/amp are you using?
Hi James, what barre chords were you playing from 0:23 to 0:28?
I posted a full lesson on how to play this one, just search the channel.
Hey James, since you have the old standard out - how does it compare to the deluxe you have been playing?
Playing-wise, I prefer the Deluxe because the neck and the frets are massive. Tone-wise, they're very different. The Deluxe has all the custom wiring, the minis, the Super Distortion in the middle. Not really all that comparable in tone. If I had to choose, I'd go with the Deluxe. But maybe that's just because I haven't had it as long and it feels like a new girlfriend.

I got the PT replica from a guy in New Jersey who takes regular Deluxes and converts them.
James James I think Gibson recently came out with the gold top one but it's way too overpriced of course.
James James It looks like the red is starting to fade a bit on that thing. Next thing you know it'll be time for the PG mod...
Satin finish guitar?
No, that's a Standard.
I miss your shit.
Private Picker!!!!

Hmm. I've always thought Ten Years Gone was the highlight of the '77 shows.
James James I love the song but the intro is so pretty and him bending into the notes just a tad annoying, that's all.
I agree with you JJ
+James James On Listen to this Eddie it sure is for me.
That's a beauty, although I hate the splice. I like the Badgeholders version a couple nights later.
probably my least favorite song on graffiti but still a good one, their worst songs are some bands best!
