I swear, every time they make it sound just as good as the album version, if not better!
it’s cause the album version is bad (not saying the song is bad, the song itself is amazing)
I feel like removing the strings improves the songs, plus he songs them with more umph live. I'd that's makes sense.
The album is too little compressed, feels almost natural
@@lofo7703 I ain’t quite where I think I am is a million times better live, like you said it’s because they remove the strings so it’s less washed out and then add more guitar. Completely different songs live to on the album, and a lot better live in my opinion haha
That's because they don't use autotune+the album version is not edited, they do it on one take and they improvise on stage, all artists do, but they are just the best. So underrated band literally
The arctic monkeys should write the next bond theme, change my mind
Yeah they deffo got that sound about them now 🙂
Check out The Last Shadow Puppets, alex turner/Miles Kane side project
Bro Alex has been auditioning for that for the last two albums😂
The Element of Surprise from the second Shadow Puppets album would have been the perfect Bond theme
Nah, Es Sheeran should
About 15 years ago they were on the same show dressed as clowns, Love the way the band changes through time.
I had the exact sane thought. Had to go back and watch that video. Crazy how much they've changed
Made me lol this. Top teir comment
Now they're on the same show dressed as the nineteen seventies
I'm sure stylists, management and labels etc don't have anything to do with that...
They're following their ideas, not the market
Don’t think they ever followed the market.Maybe except for AM.
Do you mean their Big Ideas?
@@ratnarajendran3348 And even then, I don't know to what point it was them following the market rather than influencing it. It's for sure their most commercial album, but still, classic rock n' roll wasn't exactly the go-to for marketability in music. At least not as much as other sounds like mainstream pop and such.
@@stud105 nobody has cared about the charts since the 90’s
They're making shite cringy music is what they're doing.
The Car will be definitely not for everybody for sure, but their sounds are just impeccable both on live and the album version.
When Tranquility Base came out, lots of ppl hated it. Then it slowly grew on everyone and now ppl call it a masterpiece. Same thing will happen to The Car
@@tripalongbrasil for some reason, i still prefer Tranquility than The Car currently due to more beats in it. The Car kinda way too slow for a ride IMO, but we’ll see.
It's like SGT Peppers of Beatles , at that time people were not used to the sound then we know the Album was on the charts for more than 3 years;
Body Paint song reminds me of A day in life (beatles) great composition
digging their 70s vibe
Alex's vocals are on point
So clear and with such control... Alex never ceases to amaze me
The whole band is.
It’s so interesting what vocals people like because I think they’re terrible
@@aZeddPrattFilm Well it's Just your opinion
@@aZeddPrattFilm why are you even here then on a live performance video if you have no interest in the band. I find that way more interesting than your stupid take on his vocals.
0:17 Jamie finishing drinking that (beer?) lol
0:35 the way he sings sun help
1:07 matt's chorus fdenfjf
1:23 matt's chorus x2
1:28 NOD AND PROUD EXPRESSION& kEePiNg On
1:31 that cracky voice moment
1:38 the look up
1:59 the guy w the tambourine just vibing lmao (does he move like a doll would or am I crazy)

2:24 the hand and the little dancing

the most accurate timing i ever saw

@@solsigil thank u for not thinking I'm crazy 🧚🏽♀️💘💘
Arctic monkeys heve the best live performances at this time, this is just other level of live performance, this guys never stop to surprise me.
The new album performed live is breathtaking, they are getting more and more amazing with years! Arctic monkeys are the best!
👍😉
That's because they hired Tyler and Tom 👌
Nick O'Malley is such a great bass player, he's the groove! Incredible bass lines for these last two records.
✨🤘🏻
Half of TBHC bass lines were written by Alex tbf, regardless, they’ve all matured as musicians so well
Too bad that in the album version the bass is so low 😕
@@tylerrjoseph one thing is to write a melodic line on an instrument, and another is to play it with feelin' and with Your touch. Don't get me wrong, Turner is outstanding as a musician, and I recognise it's merit, I was just pointing that O'Malley knows his work and his rule, and makes a wonderful job here!
What a couple of mistakes tho
I can’t get over the fact how genius and talented they are. We are so lucky watching them growing up with every album. I’m so proud of them, congratulations for next amazing work boys, no other band such as you❤️🪩
Greatest band of the new millennium hands down
I’d argue Coldplay were a bigger band post 2000 and The Libertines had more character than this band has ever had - the constant reinventions to try and stay relevant. But they do seem to have improved since that last album. He writes some interesting lyrics.
@@Poddles71 I respect your opinion but still I’m biggest monkeys Stan forever
God bless you 🎉❤
@@Poddles71 they're genius. Coldplay shouldn't even come in the conversation
They have matured into perfection
I’m not a fan of Arctic monkeys but this is like Bowie, Wings and Queen all rolled in to one, great song writing and the best vocals I’ve ever heard him deliver, If this was released in 1975 we’d consider it a classic today

Why does everyone feel the need to compare, oh and it is a CLASSIC anytime...
@@mkfloyd9131 Why does everyone feel the need to criticise, in a post full of compliments, here you are trying to find the negative 🤦♂️
@@jamesdebroy344 Nah just me, and you do not see my positive soul shining through...
(I thumbed you up, OP, and this is not combative, so...)
It sounds like maybe you *weren't* a fan of them, maybe more in respect of what they used to lean into - stompy, nu-indie stuff from the mid-noughties for over a decade? But perhaps you could be a fan of their more recent work? They were definitely changing direction as far back as 'Do I Wanna Know' now I think about it, but I wonder if you'd enjoy them on 'Tranquility Base' - which was slated by a lot of AM fans but I thought was effing genius?
Perhaps it's not about 'liking a band', but just appreciating music that hits you right. (This is why fanbois suck).
*I defo wasn't a fan of them at the start of their journey, although I respected them. I really wasn't down with the whole Noughties indie scene (and I still, to this day, do not understand why people love 'Mr Brightside' by the Killers so much... it just leaves me stone cold. But there you go.)
That solo sends shivers down my spine
Too late, my time has come,
Sends shivers down my spine, body's aching all
The time
Goodbye, everybody, I've got to go
@@xertiasstrat8957gotta leave it all behind and face the truth
What a bunch of well dressed lads
Live version is so much better than the studio one
Same with I ain’t quite where I think I am
I like both versions, the orchestra of any song doesn't sound live and I don't like it very much.
Totalmente de acuerdo!!!!!
Yeaaaah, The same
@@jtfc7286 I agree with this but not Body Paint, prefer the sound of the studio version
Alex Turner is such a great performer, singing and feeling the vibe, his moves on the stage reflect perfectly what we fell when we linten to the chorus.
Best performance of Body Paint so far
2:55 Goosebumps moment
Immaculate performance, absolute banger of a song. 'The Car' and 'Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino' are the best albums these guys have ever made.
You can tell they're having so much fun when they play this song live, everyone just goes all out at the end ❤️
I'm here for 1:43 and onwards... What a song! What a performance! Alex went from that shy boy wearing guitar up high to be a confident character such as this, it is lovely to see. 🙌🏽
every live performance of Body Paint has been phenomenal thus far but that was no doubt the most passionate I've seen Alex istg
yesss it really is!!
This song just gets better and better
This alex's vocal is next level
His vocals are fucking insane @_@
I love Matt always doing the background voices!
The live performances of their last couple of records show that the guys still have it and never lost it, despite the stark but endearing difference in tone from their earlier work.
It's a great feeling that they're making the music they want and are clearly revelling in it, as well as being able to let loose on stage.
That solo is just perfect
Holy fuck, they are genius minds
One of the best songs from “The Car”
The lyrics
For a master of deception and subterfuge
You've made yourself quite the bed to lie in
Do your time traveling through the tanning booth
So you don't let the sun catch you crying
So predictable, I know what you're thinking
My teeth are beating and my knees are weak
It's as if there's something up with the wiring
You can poke your head behind the mountain peak
Don't have to mean that you've gone into hiding
So predictable, I know what you're thinking
I'm watching your every move
I feel the tears are coming on
It won't be long, it won't be long
Straight from the cover shoot
Still a trace of body paint
On your legs and on your arms and on your face
And I'm keeping on my costume (keeping on)
I'm calling it a writing tool
And if you're thinking of me, I'm probably thinking of you
There's still a trace of body paint
On your legs and on your arms and on your face
There's still a trace of body paint
On your legs and on your arms and on your face
There's still a trace of body paint
On your legs and on your arms and on your face
There's still a trace of body paint
On your legs and on your arms and on your face
So predictable, I know what you're thinking
I loved how they mixed the new style of the past two albums with the traditional AM electric guitar at the end.
One thing I wished with the new album was more of that. I really feel the guitar is the heart of their sound. Still enjoyed the new album overall.
I love inventive this album is - they’ll go down as one of the greats.
Best iteration of the "Haah!", in this one, Alex really gets into it
I kinda resent that the album doesn't sound more like this. Lots of gravitas and emotion, big sweeping crescendos that bring catharsis to the buildups. Alex feels so much more alive here than he does for 90% of the album.
amazing performance
I don't have enough words to make clear how much I love this song and every time they play it live!
this performance was so alive!!!, alex sang his heart out and matt, jamie, nick and the crew did so well playing
Amazing performance
LMAO at Cookie necking a Fosters at the start XD
I caught that, too. I thought Jonathan would have had the budget for something a bit nicer in the green room!
This live version sounds better than the studio one
I know right it’s miles better
No it doesn’t wtf
Always sounds better live
Bit disrespectful to the artist and producers
Yeah kanes better
Amazing, totally talented, the kind of people who deserve all the support, what a masterpiece the whole album is, really proud of them 🎇
Arctic Monkeys - one of the greatest bands the UK has ever produced ❤
SOOO FRIKKIN GOOD
Love this song
This song is one of a kind. It has everything a song should have. Dynamic, feel, soul, power, good composition, balance... A pretty gown up sound with soul. Alex's voice is at its best. And, in a more personal note, that "callin' a day" with a delicious ripped voice at 1:31... wow! Five stars out of five!
he says ''calling it a - writing tool ''
I love this album. This song is just brilliant
So awesome, I get goosebumps from them
I adore them so freaking much.
Look at that lad go!!!! Wow!!! The Band are Legendary no doubts about that. I love that bit where he goes AHHHGG! 👌❤
the outro sounds so good live they absolutely went for it!!
Alex Turner's Elvis Presley performance. Gorgeous. Excellent. Brilliant. Powerful. What a genius showman Alex Turner is.
I’m generally a metal fan but love this! Have liked the arctics for a long time. Vocals were haunting and beautiful. Nice job guys!
They need to release this version!! Never thought the live version would top the studio one!
Incredible vocal performance from Alex 👏 great song, favourite from the album
I am speechless.
Go go go Arctic Monkeys! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better. I am super impressed with this band. I'm old.
This song is amazingly good
Absolutely beautiful! I adore this song and it’s one of my favorite songs off the album. What I’ve heard so far comes off so well live.
E eles vieram com tudo! Alex na melhor forma, q coisa lindaaaa!!!
Piece of art
Fantastic performance!
That "oooh" "Heh" "Yeaaaah" part ✨💯
My fav album of theirs
I've never been much of a fan but respected them for sure. This, however, is absolutely unreal. What a tune 🔥🔥
Lol Jamie getting that can of fosters in @ 0:09
AM.....Still producing slices of utter perfection.....
This song has been on repeat ❤️🔥
love this new album and this was a great performance
Increíble en vivo!!!
love them to bits
Unbelievable performance and amazing song. One of their best.
Amazing.
I’ve never been so mesmerized
This is heaven
This is a Queen song. ❤️
Phenomenal performance🤩
Best live version of this song ❤
The version from the Kings Theatre gig that went on RUclips yesterday is even better!
Amazing 😌
His vocals are so good!!
Great performance!
Love it!
god i cannot explain how much i love this song
The whole album is so fresh and this performance is fucking amazing. They’re back!
Holy shit that was dope! The song is just incredibly good, best one from the album I think. Can't wait to see them live
banda maravilhosa ❤🇧🇷
It's just absolute magic, it really is
A cada apresentação fica melhor! O gerente ficou maluco!!!
the extra drums in these make this song so much better, i love you matt
I love the fact that they have grown and followed their own ways. I was recently at their concert in Hillsborough Park (theirs and my home town) and witnessed so many who weren’t expecting their change in slowing down their old songs’Why Do You Only Call Me When You’re High’ was amazing slowed down, so many around me still singing it the old way 🙄🤦🏽♀️ I loved it, I appreciate change. As did Bowie change along his years in the ‘industry’ the Monkeys are doing the same, we can’t be listening to ‘Are U Mine’ forever!!!
Keep going moving forwards lads you are fantastic and a huge asset to Sheffield ❤❤❤
This song is an absolute masterpiece. Alex Turner knows what we like before we do. If this doesn’t grow on you, you have no musical taste or soul.
Amazinggggggg omg
Can’t wait for their tour !!
I love this album ❤
Exceptional performance 👏
My hairs are standing on end, can’t even imagine the feeling of playing this with the one and only arctic monkeys. A set of geniuses stand before you.
amo esta canción porque es tan alex , es mi favorita del disco
You're awesome!
Love it
