arctic monkeys are the definition of following your ideas and don't care about what is popular now, just do what you think is good they have my respect for that.
Totally agree with you
I couldn’t agree more. Massive respect but I personally don’t enjoy their current sound. But I’m sure they won’t lose any sleep over it 😂
omg you're right!
its kinda funny how they are popular and still feel so under rated
their albums are so different and unique they are just an amazing band
Whatever people say i am, thats what im not, es una filosofia no un album
i love the way Alex sings this almost like he’s angry, it puts a really different spin on the song
he's getting emotional, that ain't like him

Album is perfect and this song for me is the best!
This is Alex's one of the best and the most underrated live performance ever. Period. Like for real this is FKN MAGIC to my ears and soul. What a Masterpiece!
He gives sooo much soul to this, you can see it in his eyezs🥲😫❤
Melody timing songwriting masterpiece indeed
YES. His vocals here are amazing, not a single false note, it’s perfect!
This song always makes me feel in another place, in a melancholic better place

This album absolutely must be listened to on a stereo with proper speakers to get the full effect. The musical arrangements on it are outstanding
I listened to it while walking around the city at night, in pouring rain...quite a vibe
YES, THIS
I swear - it's a completely different album on my good proper headphones than it is on my little earbuds. I'm glad my first listen at midnight was on the good ones - the instrumentals blew me away and now even when I listen to it in worse quality/lower volume I have the bigger image.
It's an incredible album.
@@lllSusan1224lll I listened to it on my phone just when it was released just to hear the songs and I was less than impressed, disappointed tbh. The next day I hooked it up to speakers and was completely blown away by it.
Somehow they've done it again
@@shotgun_blammo haha nice one!
@@Chris-zx3wo Yikes. Pretty much the equivalent of watching a movie on a plane. On the laptop of the person sitting in the row in front of you.
This album is so bloody good. Next bond theme.
Their music has literally been the theme music to my life since 2007. 🤣 This is a golden addition. Really suits the mood. 🥰🌹
Don't think it's bloody good, but definitely the next bond theme
They're everything to me
too boring for Bond, this album sucks
Would actually fit really well.. good shout lol
His voice has aged so well, I've followed this band for about twenty years now and I ceased to be amazed at the absolute art this band produces, they always produce the most breathtaking poetic music without doubt💛
Never cease to be amazed*
Completely agree - I want him to stop smoking though so I can keep enjoying it for years to come!
Still my fav from the album. Strings are beaut.

This new album is a real slow burner. Took me nearly 37 minutes to appreciate what a masterpiece it is.
HAHAHAHAAHHAH
Took me 37 listens.
🙌🏻😂
@@chriswheeler174 But you still found your mirror ball 🤷🏻♂️
yes it just took 1 listen to realise this was special.
Alexander has such a presence. His posture, his pauses, the way he accentuates some notes, how his body language expresses everything without having to exaggerate...Perhaps I'm the one exaggerating but I love everything about this performance and how he handles this.
@@nameface6934 just heard it and I loved it, so if you have any more recommendation similar to that then I won't complain...
Sometimes, I imagine him having a good career in a musical 😄, he acts when he's singing❤️
boca o nada🤙
He is an extremely talented actor for sure, while he's singing, playing, performing. I see it even more when he's doing TLSP concerts and of course their videos.@@ronetteskiestante4064

I absolutely adore The Car. It's a perfect album. I love Matt Helders' drumming on this record. It's so refined.
so fucking technical, love it
So true, Alex gets rightly lauded but Matt is the best drummer in the world and comfortably so
@@davidpearson6785 True he is pretty good do like Julien Barbagallo from Tame Impala as well for them live. But yeah Matt just pips him for me, he does some pretty insane things though Julien. Even if I know nothing about the technical words and technical side of it aha, but Matt is impressive indeed
Jools never dissapoints with the sounds of his guest star performance. This is absolutely stellar!
He's such an underrated national treasure tbh. He cops so much flak for his presenting but we'd be lost for live music without him
This song is a gentle wave of melancholy that flows through my soul.
the bends is the best radiohead album
Exactly!
It’s always there
15 years listening to them... a lot changed, we changed, their music changed... it feels like life you know? different stages and each album makes me reflect on what is happening to me too, it's lovely.
so damn true, I feel the same way
He reminds of Bowie in the way he creates a different persona each album. He's a very underrated generational talent.
Bowie really took it to another level though. Ghost is another band who creates a new persona, but more noticeably with costume and stage design changes.
AM are everything but underrated, they sold out every venue on this tour in minutes after tickets were released and they are not small venues. Alex has been praised by many for more than a decade now, but since TBHC he gets a different kind of recognition too which is great. I would not call him underrated but I also don't think he is in a league with Bowie. Because nobody is.
Different persona? Alex Turner? It’s not a persona mate, it’s his ego. Comparing Bowie with Turner is kinda disrespectful.
He is right up there musically. Voice, Lyrics, Guitar, Piano, Presence. He can do it All.
Special
@@cactaceous considering this entire album is him doubting his abilities as an artist and reaching a point where he can't imagine making music if it's not with his longtime friends, I find it hard to say he's led by ego
In 3:51, jools must be damn proud of them, from a young band performing I Bet You Look Good on The Dancefloor in '06 (which was magnificent) to this more mature and yet another masterful performance by Arctic Monkeys now in '22.
this gaze is really more sceptical than proud 😂
hes just thinking about how this track could really do with some boogie-woogie piano all over it
I Bet You Look Good on The Dancefloor >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> This amnesiac
Yes. And 505. Especially mardy bum. It all ties generationally. Sir. Alex.
The acoustics add something haunting and beautiful with that slight echo-yness
omg you're freaky right!
Alex's falsetto at the end is the most beautiful thing I've heard
It doesn’t get any better than this!!!!
I've listened to them since my 16th birthday when I got their debut as a gift and through all the changes, I still like them very very much. We grew up together I guess. :)
The same! 🤝🏻 we grew up together and slow down that fluorescent adolescent energy, TBHC was a watershed
Their debut came out the day after I was born and now I'm 16, and have fallen in love with The Car just like I had with Whatever People Say I Am. You could say we are one in the same :)
Same here, you actually grow up with a band, that’s very nice feeling
I like how Alex stared down the camera and then it switched to a different one, almost as if the camera got shy
Always loved them, no matter in what form. They still stay themselves and never disappoint. I love to enjoy their musical essence shining through different prisms. Huge respect for them not being afraid to change. And they age like wine
@@nameface6934 really all I heard was a bag of shite😁🙄😂
2:39 through to final note is the greatest piece of music and vocal delivery I’ve heard in a long time. A work of art.
and in the end, he looks proud of it
Absolutely!👌🏼🪩
Agreed! The only thing close lately was another live performance I found of Hooverphonic with Geike from 2005 at the Ancienne Belgique. It floored me how good that show was
I'm loving the bass guitar at this exact time, so groovy. And it sounds perfect!
Alex is undoubtedly one of the greatest musical minds of our lifetime. The way he, Matt, Jamie and Nick writes, composes and produces music is simply astonishing. The Car album is truly a masterpiece, so many layers of lyrical genius, instrumentation and vocals that come together in a way that is beyond words. Not to mention, Alex has this beautiful aura about him which adds so much richness to his music. Such a privilege to have grown up with their music
very well-said👏👏
🥱
It has been a privilege indeed
Same.❤
It’s pretentious guff imo. Doesn’t stand up against the proper musicianship of Radiohead
what a lovely live performance alex has never sounded better
This song is a masterpiece of melancholy. Alex’s voice is angelic.😇🪩
that is one tough piece for vocals. I don't think we appreciate enough mr Alex for absolutely owning it.
yes we do, thats why we are here
I get emotional every time i hear this song, even though Alex asks us not to. Its way too cinematic and magical. Anemoia💖

Love how how clearly and precisely he pronounces every word.
Love that his stage presence/persona changes each album. This one is more still and present and I like it.

@@Wal3R That rock 'n'roll, eh? That rock'n'roll, it just won't go away. It might hibernate from time to time, and sink back into the swamp. I think the cyclical nature of the universe in which it exists demands it adheres to some of its rules.
But it's always waiting there, just around the corner. Ready to make its way back through the sludge and smash through the glass ceiling, looking better than ever. Yeah, that rock'n'roll, it seems like it's faded away sometimes, but it will never die. And there's nothing you can do about it.

This song will be held as one of their greatest - sounds timeless ❤
Quite a journey from punk/rock/pop to that grungy dirty sound of a.m to this lounge-esque music of today. They've basically nailed all aspects of music

It's a superb new sound. And respect is due to Alex for his homage to 1990's Richard Madeley.

i cant believe how beautiful this is
This is so beautiful. Especially the intro and outro.
Amazing album, had it playing non-stop all weekend.
The cinematography of this performance- holy shit
Vocals. Strings. Drums. Heaven.
Arctic Monkeys have taken a trajectory akin to David Sylvian and Talk Talk. The music they make now is pure art. They make it for themselves. It's absolutely sublime. Effortlessly beautiful with a confidence that The Beatles had in their later albums. I speak as someone that was suspicious of their early work. They seemed over hyped, but I was wrong.
Their early work shits all over this though. People would have never got behind this band like they have if this album and the last one came first. These are the type of risky albums you can put out only if you have a loyal fanbase and an already outstanding body of work.
A reference to Talk Talk! I love it! (I'm a big fan of Talk Talk too)
If only I had a high end music system to play this properly...This is a masterpiece, vocals, lyrics and music arrangements
man, i really dig their later stuff. hope they keep making music for years to come!
Arctic Monkeys are doing a great extra effort promoting this album. I'm a big fan of their music and also of the marketing strategy carried out. Fans are growing and changing with these lads. Congrats!
I'm completely mesmerized by this song
I will always love their music, others don’t like that they don’t get a FWN 2.0 or AM 2.0 but that’s how great these guys are, they will always try new sounds and I love and respect that so much
EXACTLY. You have to bold and courageous to change up your band's sound like they have from one album to the next. I'm not being hyperbolic, but that puts them in league with the Beatles. That's right, I said it.
It took a lot of listens for me to finally appreciate this album. Glad I didn't just put this album aside after the first listen, it's grown on me
His voice, his face, the melody and letter of the song, everything is perfect,Alex!😍

Jools, through his work and shows, probably did more for music than 80% of all selling artists did combined.
