Are you still liking it? Which version did you get? I am researching options now. I fear the reviews I have found on youtube as they just seem like commercials. Thanks!
This case is rock solid (like other Pelican cases). ruclips.net/user/postUgkx3jMFPw9QX_Iu4DNcjW-t9AZ4_iNhJzhE I paired it with the Master Lock 140T set of padlocks. The US Airways ticket agent that checked the case was impressed by how completely the latches were secured. The case has layers of removable foam cubes that can be easily adapted to the contents of the case and keep everything secure. After declaring its contents to the ticket agent, I was allowed to put this case in other checked luggage. Due to its size and black color, this helped insure that it wasn't misplaced by a baggage handler. TSA was (apparently) happy with the packaging as well. If you plan on flying with more than one of the main items, I would recommend buying a larger Pelican case and just transport the case as another piece of checked luggage.
The fingertip also changes over time through abrasion and injury making biometric locks extremely unusable for those with jobs that are rough on their hands
Do these take (4) AA batteries or a 9V. I have several drop down safes that utilize (4) AA batteries and they seem to go out after about 4 weeks. I typically open it once a week and after 4-5 weeks, the batteries go dead. I have a drawer save that utilizes a 9 V and a battery last for 2 years, and I open it every night so it's open by my bedside.
Appreciate your concern fam! Ideally this can be mounted underneath any horizontal surfaces, bed, desk, dinner table, kitchen cabinet etc. However, I don't think this can be mounted underneath car seats because it does require drilling. That being said, maybe you would consider our Pistol Safe or Two Gun Vault, these two have pre-drilled mounting holes at the bottom and you can install them in your trunk. Or maybe even our Dropdown Vault and install it on your door panel or in the trunk as well. If you're interested in purchasing one, make sure to use the coupon code above and get 20% off for a limited time only.
I saw an ad for this where it plays you dumping your finger in the water. In a small browse I see only the same thing, "look at the 'patented' reader detect my wet finger"... it feels like a script they handed out.... and I'm left to wonder, what's the durability and secureness of the safe? Is the reader even effective at detecting only you? Could someone just force it open and have access to a deadly weapon? I don't see anyone actually reviewing it, just what I assume is the brand deal script.
The vein reader won't read my finger half the time with clean dry hands. Definitely wouldn't trust my life with it, but the keycode works pretty good although it's a little loud.
I have the under desk model. The instructions states: “To store additional vein prints you need to erase previous vein prints”! What??? How do you ACTUALLY store numerous vein prints? Anyone know….please advise. Thx.
Appreciate your interest! All MAXSafes products must run on batteries. We designed it this way so all users can put their safes wherever they desire. For instance, I personally keeps the safe in my closet and it's difficult to have it plugger into a wall outlet. If you're interested in getting one, please make sure to use the coupon code to get 20% off for limited time only! Looking forward to having your business!
It would be easy to modify.. It's only trying to see a simple voltage. Solder a couple wires and get a little wall power charger box at the right voltage. Just watch a few videos about it
@@maxsafessecurity2994 It would be great if you made it use rechargeable batteries, like a weapon light.. and make it take a USB-c to keep it charged up. You should integrate this into future iterations. Just make sure you make it clear that it has to use rechargeable batteries.
Hi, MAXSafes team here! (My name is Raymond too haha)Appreciate your interest! To answer your question, the safes are designed for home use but if you have a truck or jeep that happens to have a solid vertical surface, then why not. But please note it has to be a SOLID surface. Our safes are made with 14-16 gauge carbon steel thus if it was installed on a plastic panel or something like that, it would probably pull the whole thing down. That being said, it is extremely important to have your guns properly stored in your household. If you don't have one yet, why not give our products a shot. For a limited time only, you would get these babies 20% off using the code above. Looking forward to doing business with you! Have a great day!
Odd. I just bought one and I've tested it about 50 times and I'd say it was about 100%. A couple of failures on odd fingers, like a ring finger instead of index so I think the angle was bad. I've heard other people say program your primary finger 5 or so times. It'll be stored as five different fingers, but the safe doesn't know any different. That gives the safe 5 times the info on your one finger and may increase dependability.
Vaultek Slider here. Superb safe. Highly recommend. DO NOT recommend nano-key because it's not safe where non-permitted persons might stumble onto it. Think intruders, grandkids, etc. Nope.
@@philgretz thanks! I'm looking for that can be installed under my desk. It's one of those minimalist type, just a butcher block top with standing desk legs. I haven't found anything yet that doesn't need to be screwed into the side. (Because my desk doesn't have any sides)
Looks like a good product but I can only assume that this video is sponsored by MAXsafe, or is just straight-up paid advertising. You need to be clear about that stuff man.
The vein recognition is garbage. ~50% reliability for me. Not any better after registering the same finger many times. I also tried other fingers to no better luck. Maybe some people have better fingers for this sort of thing. Make sure you test the sensor exactly how you would while hurrying and have 100% reliability. "50 vein IDs" sounds very excessive...until you realize you need to register the same finger 20 times in order for it really function well.
I bought one after your previous video. So far so good. No complaints. Keep up the great reviews.
Thanks for your support! Glad to know that you liked it!

What about the battery life?
One year later, how is it holding up?

Every time I see one of these I think “is this the next safe to be opened with a paper clip or a gum wrapper”?
I'mma use my veiner for sure.
Any idea on battery life of the drop down model? That’s my biggest concern if it’s battery powered.
the website says 6-8 months
The fingertip also changes over time through abrasion and injury making biometric locks extremely unusable for those with jobs that are rough on their hands
Vein recognition is technically biometric

Wonder if you can mount the underdesk safe underneath the seat of you car/truck/jeep.
Was curious about the same thing. Would like to put this under the driver seat of my tundra
Thinking that would be tough as there isn't a good flat structure under most car seats.

Love the safe, my biggest concern is wtf are you doing with your thumb around 5:18 🤣. That V2 slide gonna bite the shit out you brother....

Did you ever figure this out? Do you like it? Considering buying one of the versions. Thanks!
Will that drop down fit a firearm with an olight and red dot?
Do you know if there is an option to plug this into a wall outlet and not use batteries?

Question I have is can this be tethered to your car?

I have one off these and the vain Recognition is pretty bad works about half the time
Sadly I bought one, and the vein recognition is terribly inconsistent.
same here, it's trash

Looks great.. Too bad they dont ship to Canada.. Would have ordered one on the spot..
I have very dry hands. Can this product read my fingers?
Don't have any issues mounting them with them weighing a little over 15lbs?
Appreciate the concern fam. As long as you mount it to a solid surface it would work just fine. Frankly, most IKEA desks and tables would do the job!
Can the bio metrics be programmed to work with multiple people?
Up to 50 different users
I have the Vaultek slider I like it a lot I have it paired with a nano key push it pops open
It can be installed under a desk horizontally?

What if the battery dies? How long is battery life?
That bouncing up and down when the safe opens is so cheap feeling.
Yes I'm hoping Max will do something about that.
Great review thank you...good thing it comes with a CA Prop65 warning to avoid a certain group of people from trying to eat it.
What you think about the under desk safe right under the edge of bed? Or under a nightstand with open bottoms?
Love the drop down but would be great if the unit could mount from the rear not just the sides.
I love the idea but anybody know of anything more quiet?
It also has a silent mode which you can activate

These are actually cheaper than I thought they would be.
So I’m guessing you aren’t sponsored by Vaultek any longer?
Discount code not working
Can you shut off the noise???

Can you turn off the beep sound?
Yes

Commercial 😢
Looks good, but made in China. Buy American.
