- Kumba is quite the famous Bolliger & Mabillard sit-down looping roller coaster. It has operated at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay since 1993 and has thrilled millions of riders! I only have so much footage of this coaster but I'm throwing it up here for anyone who would like to use it! You are free to use this footage in your own videos as long as you provide credit!

Yeah, it goes slightly down and picks up speed before the cobra roll. One of the best parts of any coaster ever.
when I would go with my family when I was a kid i never went on the ride but I always liked walking the bridge and just hearing the loud roaring from this ride lol
On my one and only trip to Busch Gardens, this was the last ride we rode of the night... 3 times in a row! There was nobody else in line and it was 10 minutes to closing. They just rechecked the restraints and let us go again! On that nostalgia alone it has been one of my favorite coasters of all time.
1993...I was 9 years old visiting the park as part of, family vacation, during the absolute peak of my childhood roller coaster obsession which began with a complete avoidance, irrational fear of heights, culminating in my first "real" looping coaster at my local park - Canada's Wonderland - which was an Arrow double loop[, double cork, that my sister lied and told me was a team ride, without any inversions....the over the shoulder restraint gave way to the realization that I was lied to, locked into impending doom which was laughed off by anything around me, as I sit there wondering if I will even have a chance to run into my mother's arms and cry bloody murder, as the tears uncontrollably streamed down my face....fast forward to this park visit and Kumba being at the abolsute top of my life...funny to see decades later and a world class collection of B&M creations installed, that this one is still revered for its speed and relentless pace...to be honest, all I could remember was the colour of the track and the infamous corkscrew featured in the adverts....long story a bit shorter, it wasn't running all day to my dismay...and as the day was coming to a close, in the comfort of my mother's arms, crying (again), a park employee mentions that it might be up and running....can this be.,...I summon my siblings and being to jog, which then upgrades to a light sprint (I was a track legend and soccer phenom...look me up)...and it was true....we ran through what was a long, curvy, brand new, and completely empty queue to walk on what was the happiest moment of my life up to this point....ok, now I can watch it knowing I have experienced and shared my moment of Kumba bliss....cheers ride lovers...
That out and back corkscrew at 1:09 is something I bet Arrow wish they accomplished back in the day
Always love to see my old favorite coaster! Man I love Kumba, makes me want to get back out there even though I live on the other side of the country and have no money... Those old school B&M's were just a thing of beauty
The diving loop and especially heartline spiral were so so revolutionary and well done. My favorite coaster ever, right there with The Beast and Coney Cyclone and Grizzly.

I took my friend in this for her first ride (she’s very GP), and she called it the COMA because the head banging

The only time I’ve ever had head banging was my first time I was a certified gp and It was pretty bad. Now I like it a lot more because I know what to do

Pretty insane coaster... Fun fact: in the Congo language, Kumba means "Roar". Pretty cool considering this ride's unmistakable b&m roar!

I went on this in the summer and I'm not sure If it was just a bad seat but I didnt really like it it was okay but it was more overrated
Rishab Mohandoss it’s definitely overrated but it’s still very intense and a pretty good layout. i only get head-banging when you turn around after the first corkscrew

That's in my backyard man! BG Tampa is my home theme park and I visit quite frequently, Kumba also happens to be my favorite ride at the park. I'd love to see a full video on it sometime in the future if that ever becomes possible.

One of the biggest regrets of my life so far is that I only got to ride this once, back row, left seat. It’s not the intensity that surprised me, it’s how it’s continuous bar the mid course brake run.

im literally mad that Universal and other theme parks in Florida aren't open smh
you're an idiot. do literally any research and you will know that this virus kills and parks shouldn't open until there's a vaccine. I'm so beyond mind blown that someone is angry about parks closing. you are not entitled to roller coasters and health is more important than amusement parks. the only way parks can open safely is if the state of Florida has less than 10 deaths per day for 3 weeks consecutively and even at that, it should only be Florida residents until it is safe and you should still be cautious because COVID is basically cancer that is contagious.

Coaster Fusion don’t sit on a wheel seat, stick to the middle!
It's old so it jerks you around and pulls some forceful G's. I love that, but many other people don't. Always hear people complaining about it in park, but always hear enthusiasts saying it's amazing. It's one of my favorite coasters. I prefer outside right in the back seat, but you might want a middle seat in a middle row. That first corkscrew also has a big jolt that hurts so bad (and good). Talked to one of the ride ops and they said it needs a few welding repairs, so it could smoothen up in the future if done right
I've been to BGT three times and everytime I've been Kukba is closed...lol. it sucks so bad because I live in Socal. I was going to go in October of this year for Iron Gwazi, but we'll see how that goes.

Are you ever going to go to six flags great America because that is my park and want to know if you like it because there are a lot of good coasters there and you should go up to the Wisconsin dells while your there to go ride hadis which you prob never heard of but it is a pretty good steel wood hybrid

I wish i could go to these rides, but im stuck in finland where the only good rollercoasters are : a kilometer long one with some inversions, and one that is a launch coaster that is 500km away -_-
