My least favorite part of Disgaea games is the first few hours where you're very weak and leveling is a pain. Even getting to lv10 takes a while if you don't know exactly what to do, and nobody really covers the first 100 levels in detail. I'm definitely coming back to this!
eh, the first 10 levels sort of makes some sense, and is simple, if not super easy. just, play the game. most of the time you don't even need to grind for the first few chapters, just be smart about how you use enemies and don't plan around one shotting everything. as for the first 100 levels, it's usually pretty simple too - play the game until the martial maps can be unlocked. boom, now you can power level past the story's intended levels. otherwise, same thing - the main story progression tends to be level 1-100. so, just keep doing the main story, stopping to grind for a bit as needed. not to mention, some of the exp tricks have been in most of the disgaea games, this is the only one that changed stuff up, with tower attacks no longer giving exp to the whole tower, and healing items/skills no longer giving healing if at max hp. but in general, if you're not new to disgaea, you should know what the fuck to do...
@KeithElliott-zd8cx I don't think it's overly accessible early on to be honest. The only units that do any real damage and NOT die in one or two hits is fuji. Even in games known to be absolute nightmares post-game like D3 don't do things like that. Your units are always vulnerable just due to the various sources of potential damage, but the game gives you maps that allow you to get a feel of the game early on before it really tests you later in late-game chapters and post game. D5 puts you face-first in maps with no geo effects or layouts that allow you to get your other units up to speed. It's almost more advantageous to just create units that match the protagonist's level
That 3-4 stage help me get into martial training and cheat shop. been grinding here instead. Fuji is approaching 500 while the other 3 are nearing 300. Gotta feeling the rest of the story on normal difficulty will be a cake walk. been playing little over 5hrs XD Edit: I think the speed of my leveling may have more to do with the boost tickets? Wasn't even thinking about it, dont remember these in D5
For those struggling to get through the main story level 1-3 is perfect to get you through it. The geos there will drop every enemy regardless of level to about 5-10% hp. They cap at level 50 so it's easy to farm up into the 60's or 70's with the cheat shops bonus exp. Can be done in 2 turns if you have a character that can hit a 3 wide as well like a mage.

Evility that - Causes her to guard whenever attacked from the front - Causes her to auto counter whenever she is attacked while gaurding. - Any increase to defense. I put Hijan as the leader of Boot Camp, then run her up to the enemies on Martialgahara's final stage. The enemies do not move. Put her in front of them, then just keep skipping your turn allowing the enemies to hit her, she will counter. Keep doing this until they are dead. She will gain weapon exp, armor exp, class exp. She will also gain exp every time she is hit. Sometimes one or two hundred levels in a single fight, which lasts about 45 seconds. Over and over again. Had to change the stars from time to time; but had her at 9999 in about 20 minutes.
1, 3, is a great early spot cuz you can use the geo symbol to bring g them to low hp that even a level 13 character can kill the level 50 ver for no danger
One question, does the level 99 exp trick work on this game? i found out that on the first martial training with 1 star the enemies are level 99 and i would like to know, as i remember, on other disgaea games 99 enemies gave the exp as it they were level 300 or someting
just pass the bill to unlock the "challenge" series of stages. all you need is stage one and five until you unlock carnage i dont know when they become avalible but i did it before story stage four. this is easily the "BEST" early grind
okay silly question, but at the 0:52 mark or so you just open up this radial menu where you select the cheat shop. What? How? Is that an unlock? Is that a button that I should have been using all along?
I am concerned, why did the D.I. thing in the bottom right have a gas can and a number? are they limiting how much I can leave my console on and farm? if so, how do i get more demon gas? (lol)
@@Primalliquid92Which is honestly kind of dumb. I don't dislike the change of not allowing auto-battle until you at least manage to finish the stage manually, sure. But I had absolutely no issue having the tedious part of the grind alleviated somewhat via auto-battling. It's the classic case of if people didn't want it automated and just wanted to spend dozens of hours doing so, they just didn't have to use the feature.
@@ThekillingGoku Typical "I don't like this feature so no one else should." type mindset, honestly I think 6 gets a little too much flak considering I think 5 overall is the weaker game, aside from extract grinding cause that was fun as fuck
D6 felt like the post-game was balanced around auto-play. It was very easy to not bother with more efficient strategies or grind since you could automate anything. D7 is more of a return to normality, with everything doable manually. Post-game will always be long, but adding auto-play as a ressource is, in my opinion, good because it means you can automate a small part of the grind, saving effort.
@@blastortoise I don’t agree. 6 was by far the weakest in the series for me, especially story wise. I think the auto battle feature was essentially be made to be mandatory because of how out of wack grinding levels became. It was a cool idea taken too far
If you're referring to the heal strat it does. It only heals based on the hp actually recovered. You have to be hurt first. It still works its just bad now
When you're able to do the last martial training stage ( Normal and then Carnage ) with one character you'll earn so much XP/Juice Bar XP that you will never enter a battle anymore to lvl up a unit lol

If you have all the dlc, Pleinair's Voracious Spirit evility is fantastic for grinding. 30% to both Exp and Mana and stacks with itself.

1-3 got me to lv 50, throw geo panels ontop of another in the middle lane and clean up, cheat shop maxes enemy levels to 50

It's unlocked with the Life Support Unit squad level 2.

Sadly looks like 7-3 no longer has lvl 99 enemies. Star 7 was 92 and star 8 was 101.

yes 1 poltergas is used per turn when auto farming and it caps at 300 because people complained about it in 6
