I have a BSA Hot-Spark on my keychain, so I could eventually light the candle...hopefully by finding a cotton ball in the bathroom for a little wisp of cotton to make it easier. LOL. Thankfully my only survival use so far was while someone was looking for his lighter to light the buffet warmers, I sparked them all before he got back. :-) The K-Bar cutting the cake bit, reminds me of a birthday party we had for one of our children. Some helpful soul cut the cake with one of our kitchen knives. They are sharp and went right through the cardboard under the cake. The still a scar in the table. We never told. Ever since that time I have put a cutting board under any cake that is not on a cut proof plate/dish. My EDC could also accomplish the rest of the tasks. If I cannot find something I always use a flashlight, hopefully in a neutral white to better display colors and lines of the item. The second rule of looking, is look again where you think the item is, I often find it with inches of where it should be, possibly covered/obscured by something. So I was in France after only carry-on luggage. Met to get an Opinel to carry and leave to be brought back by someone with checked luggage...I need to go grab one to carry for a while. The place had a knife, but if its only cake, one could shape some cardboard or roll a plate, use a spoon handle, etc. Improvisation was required. It was HOT and no A/C. Window latches on one side were difficult to open without the usual carry. I used a little 0.5g Pry.Me Bottle Opener or titanium hook designed to pull off bottle caps, and it pulled open the thin little latching bar. Success!
Hot take, i very much dislike big idea designs... all of their stuff is overpriced for what it is, its just not worth it, especially when theres cheaper products that do the same thing, and sometimes does it better

I would only use it in an emergency as I normally have a better flashlight in my sling though.

Also, s/he won't need to break the watch facia. Just angle it at around 12degrees and the sunlight will light the wick. The knife probably has a hidden match or ferro rod inside, to go with the stiker cover/edge of the blade. S/He can light the candle and cut the cake. 100%; 90 at worst.
Funny you say that, as a person that lives in Los Angeles, California. If you're conceal carring anywhere apart from your house and sidewalks, it's most likely illegal
Like the idea of rating edc based on various scenarios. Are the color or material themed edc fun to look at for sure but being based on scenarios helps keep edc grounded.
the flashlight you showed off that got sent to you I have been using, Rovyvon A8. I like the magnetic attachments it comes with and it's a lot more powerful for the size than my previous light, my only complaint is the button logic. Have to hit the button multiple times to stay in any mode (holding will give you high beam from being off) and you have to hold the button to turn it off. If it is off, hitting the button once doesn't do anything. I think the Ipod carry was my favorite of the submitted.
