flat black badge on the tank: LEGIT. just pops so good!
Thanks man! I was very impressed myself
i have a 17 fxdls with stock bars, wanting to go to 10 or 12's. will i need all new wires and cables? or will the existing ones work you think?
Been watching all your videos from day one, getting my license on the 23rd of this month, catcha next ride season in good ole SAN ANTONE !🤘🏻
+Ashton Burgess hell yeah man good luck!
looking good! I really like the tank decals you did, they break up the shine but are not overly distracting
+Stinky Pete that was the goal!
I am so glad I came back and watch this video. I was trying to figure out how I was going to vinyl wrap the gas gauge side. I have watch this video six times now and I'm fairly certain I'll be able to do it. Thanks for the tutorial my friend I appreciate it
Bird, here's a tip for installing new grips, spray the inside of the grips with a quick spray of hairspray. They will slide in easier and dry in a few minutes giving you a nice grip.
+RubenAlonzo that's exactly what I did...
The vinyl tank badges look amazing! Great choice with that. I don't care for the bag on the bar though. Mrs. Bike N Bird looked great as always....
Once I get the fairing on it won't look so out of place
Harley Dave ☺
Love the bars, I have the same ones. You actually didn't have to mess with the tank at all to get to the wiring. Anyways congrats and the bike is looking bad ass!
That music was driving me bananas, but to each their own. 😉 HYPE was 100% worth it dude! The bar and shield logo looks SIC!!!! Love the handlebars. You make excellent choices on your bikes man. Great work! Really enjoyed this one!
I'll never please everyone with the music
Bike N' Bird No, but certainly doesn't stop me from watching!!! Besides, I'm sure soon enough I'll hear my favorite time lapse music and I'll be right as rain again! XD
I am seriously impressed with your Channel. The step by step aspect that you use is very useful. Great work on the Dyna and I will be checking out your other videos.
Thanks man welcome to the channel!
Here thanks to John Maxwell-Love the build series! Looking forward to working my way through all your videos. Thanks for putting the time in and creating a great channel.
Wow, That is what i did to my 2006 Dyna changed everything had a dam good time doing it! I enjoyed your video found it looking for shocks for my Dyna? Now i need to watch video 1-3 you give me good ideas. We love to make are bikes one of a kind!
Take care.
Series is going well, I like seeing you make a few changes, then ride with them for a few episodes, then make a few more. Means we can see the bike developing as you own it, rather than just stock bike to finished bike in one hit.
Personally not keen on the bag there at all, I think it'd look better on the front at the base of the bars, just above the headlight, but I see in other comments you have a fairing coming.
Pretty much what I needed to see, My west coast mx tbars should be here today so get excited to put them on. Just worried about the internal wires. Luckily I know a Harley master mechanic if things go south. But I want to at least attempt it on my own first. Thanks for the vid man!
Awesome changes, except the bag on the bars. It looks goofy. I love the tank decals and the bars look perfect for your height. I can't wait to see you riding it.
+tccoup355 gotta have some sort of storage. Wont look so goofy after the fairing
There's always old man saddle bags. lol
I agree - until the faring gets put on that bag needs to be down front facing at the top of the trees. But it's Bird Man's bike, so more power to him.
Awesome job on the video!
I just figured out what difference I see between you and Blockhead, and why I like each channel for different reasons. Your build series seem to impress me with a better "story" behind the build. The long process of building the bike. The entire long day of each step.
Whereas Blockhead has his How-To video's that eventually give you a build, but give much greater detail on the "how to" for every pull of the wire, every difficult reach of each and every bolt, step by step. Both great ... for different reasons. Still like your reviews the best of all the motovloggers on RUclips. About as good as reviews as Lenny's over at RevZ ...
Good shit birdman, Im glad you didnt have any issues running your wires, new Tank badges look much better Gloss an matte have a soft spot in my heart too. Its just a great combo , ie my helmet,my bike, my truck. Ya I have a problem.
Where did you get the bike lift, I need this in my life. Awesome video and channel, noice bike man.
Awesome! Great video with great choice for musics!
Thanks once more!
I LOVE that flat black decal of the shield on the tank. Your link says custom order. Anyway I can duplicate that order and get the same decals?
Love the videos. I’ve been reading all over the place, and can’t seem to get a straight answer. Was told the stock wiring is plenty long enough to run 14’s (t bars) on an FXDB. But now I’m hearing that you’ll need extended clutch, brake, and throttle cables. I’ve read some of your responses below, but can you confirm that there’s no need for ANY extended hardware?
Oh, yeah. That whole "filming during a hurricane" bit. ;P
+Koinonia shut up donnie
I like the ghost graphic on the tank. The rest looks good, just not my taste. Ride well and be happy. Hope y'all came through Harvey with no issues.
This is crazy, I'm installing these same bars today Sept. 11, 2018 right b4 a hurricane. Exact same day one year later same exact situation.
awesome work bro and that first metal song was really good
+XCORPSEGRINDER X thanks man!
Cool vid! Really nice changes and the flat black logo is awesome.
+Lake Geneva48 thanks man!
Brother thanks for the video really helped me for the start. What did you do to the neutral thingy ? Where does that goes ones i get tbars & the extension cable kit
That was a really cool video , I really liked the vinyl wrap I think I'm going to do that on my street bob. Thanks!
Bad ass bike bro. I have a 2014 street bob, which the handlebars looked very similar to your stock ones (mine are 10in mini apes). I Wanted to know if you were able to use stock cables and wires or did u need to get a kit to fit those bars ? Because im looking into getting 10-12 inch t bars
already hit that like button, already punched that subscribe button and as always, thanks for another great video!
Dude, vinyl wrapping the gauge and gas cap is a great idea. Looks legit on the video and way better than dropping a few hundo on some black ones. SD bars look great man. Were the control cables and wiring stock when you started? I'm replacing the stock drag bars on my Fat Bob with T bars and not sure how high I can get away with before having to dig into extending cables and wires.
Great videos man!
Damn bro, having fun yet? Lol the music was great, I liked the video. Glad to see Molly got an upgrade and can't wait for video 3.
+Duke of Shovel Earl Ironhead lol tons of fun. Things are gonna get lit for episode 3
I just bought the same bars for my 2019 streetbob. Seems I need longer brake and clutch cables. Any one have suggestions of what/where i should buy
Love the build series. Great choice on the tank graphics. Not a fan of the electronic tweeker music lol but to each thier own. Great video none the less!
+FreightTrain ill never please everyone
Bike N' Bird true that sir ;)
Do you feel these shake more than your previous bars? I installed 11” lucky Daves tbars and I feel like there’s more vibration now
The bars look great. How tall are you and what size bars did you get. I am 6'-2 thinking about getting the 16 or 14 not sure yet.
Little late to the Video here, but this looks incredible. I recently purchased an 08 street bob. With little to no mechanical experience changing the bars on my bike to look like yours (T-Bars). Is this something I should be able to handle on my own?
How did it go..
Looks good , really like the tank decal. Looks slick. Really enjoy your vids.
+Guard Dian thanks man! Yeah I'm really happy with how the tank decal came out
You digging the 1/4 turn throttle? If I’m going to order your phone mount you told me about I may as well order the throttle
Nice build, look forward to seeing your review when you get out on the bike
+Kevin Beacham first impressions video comes out wednesday!
You have great taste man! Absolutely love the look of this bike!
Are these handlebars safe with those bolts? I’ve got mine yesterday & I’m a bit hesitant cause I’ve got somewhat of an aggressive riding style..
good job man . those bars came out good. I do have a question, my Dyna has 14" burly apes but where they mount at has a lot of play! it seems to be the bushings are the issue! do the polyurethane bushings offer more firm mount? I do realize it will have some play. but now with taller bars I got more leverage so if I sit on bike and and grab the handle bars I can move them good bit.all bolts are tight. so just wondering if you think a after market bushings will make less play??? also love your videos!!!!!
May I ask where you got the flat black tank graphic I'm interested in getting one myself?
Nice bike and video !
Could you just tell me where did you find this black adhesif for hyde the chrome ? Thanks mate !
Mr bike and bird I got the fxdb as well 2017 was there any issues with the 14 inch bar?? As far as the cables being able to fit with stock cables? And do you have to undo the throttle cable for new grips? Great video! That's a 14 inch bar right?
I know a bit old video but nice I found this one, as with your others! I just ordered a genuine black HD Hollywood Handlebar that I am going to swap out my 2017 Street Bob's stock apes for. A couple of questions - 1) is it necessary to remove/slide back the gas tank (it appeared in the video to get access to wiring connectors?) and 2) I was thinking of relocating the front turn signals to the front fork tree next to the headlamp (I have Kuryakyn relocation mounts for the forks in anticipation). Is it possible to separate the stock electrical wiring for the lights and switches so that all I have to re-route through the new bars is just the switches' wiring or am I going to have to buy a full relocation kit?
She is looking great. Great job so far!
+Orion Marra thank you sir"
Orion Marra You mean me, right!? 😃
But of course! Long Live the Ginger Beard!! :)
Where can I get the tank badges you put on? I'm wanting to do the same to my Dyna
So this looks a street bob, how high are those handle bars that you didn’t have to get new cables and all that?
Lucky!!!! when i did my lucky 13 bars on the fat bob , i had to buy street bob throttle and return cables, street bob clutch cable, and i had to pick up a set of extended brake lines form drag specialties !!! what a pain in the ass!!! i would of much rather did your install lol they came out dope af.... I keep on trying to get get BlockHead to do some narrow mx T-bars but he wants nothing to do with them .. meh... I kind of want him to ride my bike on one of the group rides so that he can really get a feel for them .... LuckyDaves makes the best bars in my opinion hands down !!!! Dude look in to the joker machine throttle tube !!! dope af... stay away from the Biltwell Whiskey throttle , i hear bad things....
I freakin love my bars. Agree with you 100% that lucky daves makes the best bars. I'm liking the g2 throttle so far. A little more side to side play than I would like but I can fix that.
Hey brotha what would you suggest if I’m 5’10 the 12 or 14 lucky Dave’s San Diego
For changing your bars .... did you not need longer cables, clutch, throttle?
First off great video. Great job with the build so far. When you changed out the bars did you have to remove your clutch and or throttle cables? I saw another video with similar bars and the guy removed it all.
+jyobah I didn't have to change them if that's what you're asking.
I have to catch up on your awesome videos. Hurricane Irma had all my attention.
Bird hey man love the series BTW big fan of the channel I am thinking about putting lucky Dave's 14ich San Diego bars on my 06 Dyna Street Bob I wanted to know did you have to extend your lines to install the bars? Also how tall are you and how much do you weigh the reason I ask is because I'm 6.4 240 pounds and want to know of the bars are going to be comfortable.
This vid was awesome +1 SUB I was getting excited for you watching this video Keep on keepin on man
Hey man how tall are you? I just bought some 14" lucky Dave's sense they were on sale for black Friday. I'm 5'10 and just wondering I should go for the 12" instead. Any input is greatly appreciated!
Informative vid mate, enjoyed it, LOVE the tank decals .gonna change my bars Soon and this helped 👍👍
+FatBoy740 that decal is so perfect lol. I honestly thought I might hate it
@@BikeNBird where did you get the tank decals?
I found your channel searching for Dyna. I really like your videos. New subscriber and liker. Good stuff!
Nice looking forward to upcoming videos
11:30 fuck yea I love when a situation like that works out!
were you able to get away with stock cables and lines or did you have to get longer ones?
Molly's coming along real nice bro! Yup ditching the mini apes for the lucky daves and pairing it with the saddlemen makes it look oh so nice... I ended up putting the lucky 13's on mine since I'm pretty short and wanted the pull back... threading the signal lights through those were such a bitch for me... great episode can't wait for part 3! Ima send you a picture of my mistress on ig after I get a couple more aesthetic pieces 👍
+Hanley Daleson yeah man I guess I just got stupid lucky threading those wires through. First one off the bike gave me a little trouble but the second one just whoop right out
Did you have to get any extensions for any cables or the harness
+Rob D nope
What size are those bars? I was always skeptical about buying longer bars if the stock wiring wouldn't fit.
+Brandon Walker 14"
Hello, I will be purchasing the 12" bars however I don't know what size cable to get, can you help ? A link, model number or website would be appreciated. FYI I have a 2017 Fat Bob with ABS front dual disc breaks. Thank you
Did you reinstall the metal sleeve in the new bushings when putting on the San Diego bars?
love ya videos bro ,excellent! all the way from new zealand J W
This video is showing me I don’t need wire extension kit👌🏽
Hey man, I'm enjoying the build series, but what song is that in the intro. You got the link to RayBurger but I cant find it..
Would these bars have you leaning further forward reaching for them or are they the same as the stock as far as how far they come back ?
Do you have to run the wires after setting up the bars or can you kinda get them started then mount the bars?
Great video. Loving this build so far. Can you post links to the songs used in this one (specifically the 1st timelapse)? Shazam is being an ass and not giving me and reaulta.
Hey bro did the handle bad bolts have a lock but with the washer or just a washer .
I think tank badges make bikes look cheap. Give me a painted emblem. I also had my doubts about the vinyl badge, but man, that looks really good. Perfectly subtle.
I was very shocked at how good it turned out. Definitely my best install as well lol
those tank decals turned out really nice!!
What feeling rolled over you after you realized you cut off and threw away $50 grips that slide off after removing the switch housing?
I was wondering about that. Can you reuse the same grips?
good job! i love my san diego t-bar , how does the new throttle work ?
+gabymusk its got a little side to side play which I don't like very much so ill try and find a fix for that , but the shortening of the throttle pull is very nice. I go into more detail on my first impressions video on wednesday
Stock cables fit with 14 inch Tbars. It’s not to tight with turns?
I’m thinking of getting West cost t’s on my dyna.
+Quez Visions not tight at all. But you also have to be aware of the width of the bars. Idk if the west coast t bars are wider or not
Bike N' Bird nice, thanks for responding bro. Safe riding! Cheers
So do you not need to use any glue or any adhesive on the new grips ? And do you still like the g2 quick turn ?
+The Ryan8er no sir I never use glue.
The g2 is GREAT for high gear highway rides and aggressive twisties. I have come to realize that in lower gears like going through towns and stuff that I do kinda have to balance throttle and clutch to keep it from being super jumpy
Nice how tall are you how u liking the bars?
I'm putting out my first impressions video on wednesday
So the stock cables with the apes fit the 14” bars without any issues?
How tall are you? Trying to decide if a Dyna with those bars would look goofy.
What size are the bars? Did you use stock wires/cables?
How many inches tall can I go before having to change cables? thanks!
Lucky Dave's says 14" on the San Diego bars
Check out dakota digital for the gauge. They look great.
+Chris M digital gauges are way down the line
Looking real good Bike N' Bird!
+Daniel Ayler thanks bud"
Awesome video, I got my Lucky 13's a couple of months ago but I haven' been able to put them on, cuz the Harley dealer wants to charge me $600 but now after watching your video it doesn't seem as difficult. Also I have those Kung fu grips and they help a lot with the vibration. The thank look sick! Great job. Greetings from LA
+Matfisto yeah $600 is freaking ridiculous. If you were local I'd do them for $100 lol. Seriously now that I've done them once I'm certain I could knock them out in an hour. You'll probably catch yourself going back and having to do things in a different order (that's what I had to do just didn't show it xD) but still, nothing super difficult
Bruhda BnB, Niiiccceee!!! Horse looking goood. So Far, Sooo AwesSome!!! Lucky Daves Bars&Seats Yah Babbyy. And Them Products From GetLowered are some Kool Stuff. Great Job Bruhd! Hope your Ok from That HarveyGuy. God Bless Ride and Be Safe Ltrz.
+KrayJay Dyna LRS -'17 really does change the bike! Handles completely different as well. Harvey didn't get us hardly at all. Literally what you heard in the video was the worst it got.
that intro song is awesome. the link is taking me to something different. what is it ?
👍👍 Redbeard!! Great job as always BnB! Love the tank graphics, bars look great. Loved the music! That double bass pedal tho! #thunderhorse 💦🍌
+Wet _BananaMOTO I decided to switch it up a little for this one ;)
How in the world did you get the black plastic piece out of you way that’s under the gas tank in the opening of the frame
Sweet build! What kind of vinyl was that? I use orocal and mine does not seem to have that much flex.
+Nicholas Alger thanks man! Its linked in the description. Oracal is just a brand. They make a BUNCH of different types of vinyl. This stuff I believe is the 971 RA which is designed for wrapping. I also use their 651 for decals which is a COMPLETELY different vinyl.
Bike N' Bird thank you so much! I generally use the 651 as well and can never do anything like that. I will check out the type you suggested. Love your videos. Thanks again!
Great job. Your bike looks great
Fuckin gorgeous man! Great camera work too. Love the channel. Keep it up.
+Steve Cramer thanks bud appreciate it!
Great bike! Can you tell me are these 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 bars ? Thanks.
+Roman Nichel 1.25
With 14 inch no pull back, is it comfortable to your body posture or would numb your hands?
It would depend on your size. For me being a bigger guy, 14's keep my arms damn near level. Very comfortable and never had any numbing issues
Man I can't wait to ride with you! Please make a new build video soon!
+HoustonTX next episode is already in the works
+HoustonTX next episode is already in the works
+HoustonTX next episode is already in the works!
Where did you get the decal?
