Nice vid. The devotion screen is the ‘puzzle mini-game’ we needed but never realised we wanted. So much more fun to play around with than if they’d just set it up as a bunch of mundane numbers and buttons. Reaching a top-tier constellation in a clever way is always much too satisfying.
You've hit the nail on the head here. It's super satisfying to tweak your constellations just right to get everything you need, if just barely. But its also super cool as a mechanical level up system that ties in deeply with the lore of the world. The shrines and the stories of the different constellations always struck me as a unique blend of mechanics and world building.
Love the GD content just wanted to critique a few things. Might have been a good idea to mention/show off self sustaining devotions (no points in crossroads) for any new players that end up here. Also I'm 90% sure the RR from Viper and Ultos don't stack. Though Viper's still pretty efficient in terms of affinity per devo point and can be super useful early on before Ultos is max leveled.
I stopped playing grim dawn once I had 5 devotion points and didn't know what to do with them. Started playing PoE for it's simplicity and easy to learn game functionality :-D
I'm too dumb for devotion crafting other than picking the obvious meta ones, like picking the big "4-5 pointer" to climb into more juicier constellation. And majority of devotion route already included on most "general build"
How much RR is enough? I can easily get around 50 RR for two types of damage i specialize in but (obviously) more is better. Another thing i want to know is - how high should my damage multiplier be for end game? Is having one damage type sitting at, say, 23-5x damage the same as having two damage types sitting at 15x? Also - should i count in my bonus from intelligence and dexterity to this number or should i just focus on the displayed multiplier only?
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EUoW6I5brZDEvlex8UPt2Hvn9jTIejhF8LuVJ2JoESA/edit#gid=0 This is a resistance reduction cheatsheet by a grim dawn community hero by the name of ceno. Use this bad boy and then ask yourself "how do i get my resistance reduction as high as possible?" since RR is generally the biggest contributor to damage, you need to eek out as many of those -x% resistance as possible. As for your other question, no matter what, a build will always gravitate towards one damage type while having the other as a backbone for enemies that resist your main damage type better. This is because its impossible to go 1 for 1 with 2 different resistance reduction types, you will always need to choose which damage type your build is better at and then attempt to min/max that RR. Your bonuses from stats should be pre applied in the damage window, i believe, but i wouldnt worry too much about them as it tends to be miniscule. Usually, all said and done my end game builds tend to have 2300% - 2500% bonus to their primary damage type, but it's all depending on various factors.
Hi again Otter, question: I take the Kraken nodes for my 2H Primal Strike build, first, because I was using a 2h weapon (requirement for the bonus the nodes give), and second, they give like 80% huge bonus to all damage. But: How does bonus to "all damage" work? Its like literal; bonus damage to all types of damage? Lightning, physical, DoT dmg, etc? Is this constalation even good for my build (melee 2h primal strike lightning damage)? Would be interesting to hear your opinion. Thanks for your time :)
Kraken is probably the single strongest constellation for any 2h build. First of all, the bonus to all damage assumption you've made is correct, it's additive like any other % bonus damage, but it simply affects all types, like lightning, bleed, and physical for your build. The real reason why kraken is great though is the crazy amount of attack speed and crit damage.
Am I missing something, or did they remove the ability to remove the Crossroads point after constellation bonus. For instance, I put a point into primordial. Then I completed the sailors guide constellation. I am unable to remove the crossroads point, even though the constellation bonus gives me five points into primordial.
@@armoredotter2183 Have you ever read 99 paragraphs to find the answer...and then you ask a question… And then you find the answer in the hundredth paragraph as the last words leave your mouth? Yeah, that was me just now. LOL thanks for the prompt response and great videos!
@@marcuscoker796 I found out that you can remove that Crossroads point by buying the point back with Sahdina, in Devil's Crossing. (I'm super noob) But you can only do that if losing that point won't drop you below any minimum requirements for any other constellation.
But Viper and Ultos RR do not stack? How do you justify picking both? Same for builds that already have flat RR source, is it worth picking up such a devotion anyway?
I should've clarified this in the video. Viper isnt there for the cap node, it's there for effecient color pie to get to ultos and the fringe case where viper applies before ultos procs.

this is a great guide to constellations. i just tjink that you should increase the volume of your voice because it is too quiet

Hahah! Nice one. Yeah, crafting, in particular, in PoE is just so intuitive. I figured it all out by myself.
any grim tools link? what items? its intresting for me...

If you cant remove the Xroads, it must mean that you have a dependency on that cross road somewhere.
