LEGO Star Wars 75302 IMPERIAL SHUTTLE Review! (2021)

- The 2021 LEGO Star Wars 75302 Imperial Shuttle is a downsize from the 2015 set 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium. The new 2021 set only has 3 Minifigures (Shuttle Pilot, Darth Vader, & Luke Skywalker) which leaves a bit to be desired at $70. The Shuttle's Design has a couple major flaws in the landing gear & cockpit (plus some will be disappointed in the small interior space) but otherwise the size, strength, & functions on the set are really solid with little compromise.

Comparison coming Wednesday! Will you buy this set or an older version?
I could definitely see this is shuttle in last while comparing them
I will wait for the next one
I would buy the ucs one but it's crazy expensive these days
I own the 2005 version and I'm fine with just that. But mostly for the minifigs, I'll just swap out the Vader from that set with the one from 2020 final duel
Older version is better, but costs more so this one 💰ALSO WHY DOES VADER HAVE NO ARM PRINTING
The rest of the design: is normal
That one place under the front of the shuttle: hello there
Ah...imperfect shuttle you are a bold one
General Kenobi
well the underside of the cockpit is terrible tho
There is an easy fix for that you can take a small white plate attach it to the cockpit with a white 1x2 plate
Your likes is a unlucky number 666...
It's funny to me how this set is around the same price as general grievous's starfighter
It’s even less
Aaaaaaaa
Not a chance for greaves but this I can think about
@@broxtonlightner4175 idk Lego went cheap on this one
LOL
Us in 2030 when we have to put stickers on minifigures instead of prints: perhaps I treated you too harshly
They did put stickers on torsos in 1978... I know I don't want to go back to that.
@@PhilHartwell Heh, I wasn't even alive back when they did that, but I don't want them to return to it either, so I don't have to experience it lol. Fortunately, I think we won't since I can't recall many times when things regressed, though I'm certain that certain sets could be debated on whether they progressed or regressed.
@@renaissanceravensly5567 I wasn't either... I stumbled upon them while buying Classic Space sets. I feel that the 97 town and then generally Lego build style through 2005 demonstrated a regression from the awesome stuff Lego built when I was a kid, and I've really enjoyed seeing how amazing it all can get, but the Star Wars sets had started getting too expensive for my tastes... I like this new wave.
@@PhilHartwell To be fair, I think the Tie Fighter is one of my most anticipated sets this year, primarily because I haven't owned one before, even though one could argue that it's not the best version released. While I think the X-Wing and Te Fighter scaled better than this, it's not the worst set released and could be fixed with some modifications
Sticker are ignoring. Lego sucked
The cockpit sideburns don't look as bad as they did on the box tbh, but the throat is gnarly
It is a pretty cool set!
@Eli Bogart LOL hey man!
I feel like I've seen you before

This looks like the sad neglected little brother of the successful older sibling (2015 version).
I have no need for this. As you said 2015 is so much better!
In the uk this is only £10 cheaper than the 2015 one. Hard pass lol
I am just stating that I have no need for this and that the 2015 one was beater. Not that nobody should by it.
@@wizardbuilds207 ok sorry for misinterpreting

Ryan:"this sets are bad"
Lego:👁👄👁
This set is perfect for me as I get an imperial shuttle for much cheaper than the ones I missed out on. Also with the weaker parts like the "throat" and landing gear are great opportunities to mod and change to my liking. Making a set like this more accurate and your own is one of my favorite parts about lego.
I know that it is a $70 set but they cut more corners than they needed to
2010 called, they want their sets back
Underrated comment
I thought it looked more like the very first shuttle that they did around the year 2000. That 2x6 on top of the cockpit is sooo disgusting. They could have simply put a tile and it would have looked at least a little better
lego sets back in the day were muuuch better. The box design was 10 times better, there were more and better minifigs and 4sho the design of models was far from here. 2021 and 2020 sets are getting worse. The remake of certain classic minifigs like 501st troopers honestly sucks. I loved spending my money on lego, but it's not the moment
It’s just kinda eh. The minifigures are what does it for me. Those are three extremely boring common figures :/
Yeah I had the same feeling with the 2020 Tie Fighter and X wing
They should have thrown in an exclusive Ewok or something
They could've thrown in an Emperor figure and red guards to mimic that one scene
I don’t have a dearth or a Luke and I don’t want to buy the giant duel set and I’m trying to grow my imperial army
@@skledimon true but I would never buy a set just for a minigure that is sold for much cheaper on Bricklink or Ebay
They've cut so much corners on this square that they've turned it into a circle.
Despite its flaws in super excited to get this cause it’s my favorite ship and I don’t have a previous model. I’m so excited
I really like how lego didn’t waste any time with one of those stupid knobs to raise and lower the wings
This looks like a kind of set Lego would release 15 years ago
Exactly, to me it looks extremely ugly

There are 2 dislikes, what are you talking about
Now there are 17 dislikes
There are now 20
They are bots
@@themanbehindtheslaughter7633 wait really?
Why is there a hard cape.....
“NOOOOOOOOOOOO”- Darth Vader
It should've atleast had another minifigure like a storm trooper
Or 2 royal guards and two rebels
Not enough room for any figures on it anyways. Idk why they keep downscaling sets.
I agree
it is only carry 3 minifigures
the better is at-at because you can store 10 minifigures
*This... This Brings Back Memories😌*
When I saw those pieces for the folding wings I knew exactly what they were from. Back around the mid 2000s there was a lego series called knights kingdom. It was a knight based series somewhere between Bionicle and Lego. They had little books and everything. But those pieces were what was used for the arms and legs to make them bendable.
My dad got me one of those every time he came back from a business trip. Good memories

2:00 That officer also appeared in a magazine, I think it was n 32, 2018. Great vid, but I'm dissapointed with the shuttle, as it has some bad things , like the gap under the cockpit.
I swear lego was so focused on making the 501st set and making sure that the minifigs look perfect they just got lazy with these sets
As someone who doesn’t have an imperial shuttle and wants one I am considering trying to get this set while it does have its flaws the only thing that particularly bothers me is the cockpit but I could probably fix that
Honestly I still remember the first Lego imperial shuttle from a star wars commercial but never got it. Actually there's some sets I've always wanted to get but couldn't due to current family situation back then amongst other things. Regardless, nowadays as a full grown adult since I think 2019 or 2020 I've started my new *"secret"* hobby by collecting 1 LEGO set but slowly but surely that number has change but still relatively short due to budget and its my small hobby since I won't get all of them just a head self tradition as a treat or reward for the next upcoming year and not. This year however, I've gotten the new TIE BOMBER, Luke skywalker Y wing (wanted something else but shelves were empty rip but no regrets on getting Y wing GG). Recently 2nd trip for the same month i bought the republic fighter tank (also LOVED the tank from lore and the one from the original Battlefront 2 game but couldn't get the og tank that first came out in the 2000s but now I got it. Mace and his 187th are bad ass and accurate dunno about the commander but am fully satisfied with it imo) and lastly the tie fighter, again I got the y wing instead because shelves were empty same with tie fighters but not this location from a Target store I bought it from. Anyways that's that, would say more but it's getting long my bad. But I appreciate yall time in full or skim through this. I enjoy your comment more than I should but can relate, for me I'm going to TRY get this set before it retires later, as it's a bit cheaper then the moff Mandalorian imperial ship. But yeah I would get it but it's up to you my man Zeuseo take care IRL 👋
they could have used the mando figures. A dr hershing, two pilots and repainted boba
Actually you could also get the imperial officer in the Krennic’s shuttle micro fighter but the torso print is a little bit more detailed
That’s what I was thinking but I looked it up and the torso print is slightly different so that means this fella is “new”
@@carson4862 Yes
It seems like the mini fig selection for lego star wars lately has been crap, besides the 501st battle pack. Lego won't include many in these sets unless the set is really expensive. Lego Harry Potter, on the other hand, tends to include a lot. I bought the Hagrid Huts set for 60 and it had 6 mini figs. The Lego Harry Potter great hall was 100 dollars and has 10. Wish the Star Wars sets would go the same route.
I'm hoping it's a licensing thing and not cause LEGO is being really stingy
@@wowisntitanamazinglyamazin9550 Yeah fr. Just seems like the Harry Potter sets have more to offer
i got a harry potter set for 130$ and got 10 figures and yet for star wars you only 6 or less figures fir 130
it's kinda odd
they know that people will buy the star wars sets anyway so they realized they could tone down the quality
Yo dudes this video is pretty chill, maybe I’ll like it or something
Yo dudes the dark side is pretty chill maybe you should join it or something
I just can’t look at the wings and fins without feeling irritated. The fin is very close to the size of the 2015 variant, which is ridiculous because this set is at a smaller scale to the 2015 set. Then of course, the wings are covered with studs. I just find them so weird. It looks half finished, or like TLG used a single piece for them.
i just got back in lego and i started watching this guy, im so hooked into his videos, good job!
These videos make me relax after a long day
So torn on this set, I feel like they took a step backwards...
Looking at this and the other two sets on this same smaller scale it feels like they were put out more as a test bed for new techniques. This with the way you access the interior, the x-wing with the new technic wing mechanism, and the tie with its new wing connector
I always love ur reviews. U really know how to make a good review video. Always keep up the amazing work plz never ever stop making the good vids👍🏼
Thanks for the review Ryan. I was on the fence with this one because the last imperial shuttle I was able to get was the 7264 imperial inspection shuttle and I desperately want an update, but I can see that this is not the one for that thanks to your review.
The imperial shuttle pilot appeared in the Director Krennic’s Shuttle Microfighter!
That’s right
That officer really looking like Linus tech tips
Captain leenus tektip
The video I have been waiting on for months! Thanks Ryan!!! 🙏
I know this is a bit late, but if you lower the connecting point where the cockpit cover connects to the frame right in front of where the pilot sits by one flat piece, it makes the model look a lot better. It doesn’t fix all the problems, but you can use the parts in the set that are in that area to make it look a little less exposed.
I don’t know if this is possible but if I get this set I’m going to remove the stud shooters in the front and try to lower the cockpit so it looks better. I might also replace the 1x1 circular Technic bar with a 1x3 Technic bar for the landing gear in the front.
I don't think the cockpit needs to be lower. I was thinking to maybe just get shorter technic bricks under there, or to use some wedge plates in black to make the "chin" less visible
@@Tiishen that’s not a bad idea but I want to leave the technic skeleton alone and not redo half of the set. That would be a good idea if you had all the bricks though.
I'm thinking landing skids 1x6 underneath, general size upgrades in wings and main body.
I always remove the spring loaded shooters and stud shooters from every set, that shit UUUUGGGHHH
For the landing gear if you don’t want it to fall just move it forward like 7 studs
Really disappointed in lego on this one
Not going to buy
We're not buying it either!😞
I kinda dig it except for the front
I moded my shuttle it looks sick keep up the good work
If you look back to when Ryan shows the back of the instruction book you can also see that they had the hands switched around
Ryan: complains that the 2015 shuttle tilts over towards the front, needs landing gear
Also Ryan: complains that this version actually has good support under the cockpit, won't tip over as easily
Me: *surprised pikachu face*
The ugly “support” under this cockpit isn’t the reason it doesn’t tip forward. It’s landing gear still allows it to fall to its front left/right.
And”complains” makes it sound like you think I shouldn’t point out literally design flaws 😂😂 cmon now...

@@liamroberts3025 nope, if should cost like 378BRL taking today’s conversion into consideration, but it will cost 700BRL+ once it arrives here in Brazil, cause that’s how they make the conversions here, it doesn’t make any sense, they don’t have to pay importing taxes, specially when stuff is less than 100usd , they just want our money
Thanks for the video! I just bought it and it is a great product
I've found that removing the piece that connects the canopy joint to the shuttle body then adding more pieces to the part that holds the canopy in place fixes the gap issue. I also added pieces in the back to fill in the gap back there as well.
In my eyes, the cockpit (at least the top section of the) exterior is by far the most accurate looking in its overall shape and proportion for a minifig compatible Lambda they've done so far, and I like how it looks. First one is kinda out of question, and the second/previous one, while quite nice and way better than its predecessor, had too long of a nose, and the way it angled to the tip at the half way point left a lot to be desired. And maybe I might even say that its more accurate on some way than the old UCS model
I literally woke up right when this was posted.
Noticed the Laser Show sign by your door! One of the greats!
one thing that Mand didnt mention is that Darth Vader and Luke can actually fully stand up in the interior space which bends Vader's cape a lot less than when he's sitting down.
This is the one of most beautiful lego sets I've seen in a long time!
While I’m sure a lot of us were on the fence of purchasing this set to begin with, this review has left me personally even more unsure as to if I’m going to get it. The poor cockpit, landing gear, and interior design really seems to take me away from this set, even though the exterior looks pretty good. I don’t already own an imperial shuttle, but I don’t know if I want to own this one. I also don’t want to wait another 6 years to get one. No offense to Ryan’s review, as it is a great review with honest opinion as always.
Looks like the underbelly can be fixed mostly just by removing those stud shooters and the 1x2 propping up the cockpit
I missed out on the 2015 version so I'm excited to get this one
It seams that lego is trying to make more sets for the Skywalker saga (I know the other mando set had it to) but i think they are trying to make cheap versions of the ships we saw in mando while making them original trilogy to fit in more with the Skywalker saga.
good point
I didn't even realize they had been putting side box art
It would be cool if they made a U-Wing to go with the X-wing like how they made the imperial shuttle that goes with the Tie Fighter
Good thorough review

@@samisikdar5417 I think is somewhere around March.but nah I gonna not get this one.....
Too late, I impulse bought it. Honestly, from the top angle it looks really good. From the bottom it looks a bit rough. Just wish it came with a stormtrooper or 2
They should have included 2 storm troopers and 2 royal guards
that would have been a ridiculous amount of figures, though one more figure would have been reasonable.
I think that's a little to excessive, tho they definitely should have had a Stormtrooper.
Not a terrible set. The cockpit bulk is a bummer, but the build looks nice and stable! I guess we’ll just have to bare with LEGO while they test these cheaper but still accurate models on the community. I’m sure they’ll learn some stuff along the way and make improvements to future sets!
I feel like when it comes to the stock capes they have both still available in their part itinerary, and when it comes to set designers it's their discretion on which style to use. So that would explain the variance in cape styles. Some designers prefer the old school capes over the new ones.
If I’m not mistaken that Imperial official was in a lego book that also came with a lego Death Star worker
No, this is a shuttle pilot, the book had a grey uniformed officer which i think was the one from the 2017 advent calendar but i could be wrong
For the Darth Vader just turn him around with his back facing Luke cause then the cape won’t bend thus saving ur mini figure
I think that this could really look good if you used a few extra pieces, like maybe a few tiles and plates on the wings. That could change the look of the ship and make it look much better
Finally been waiting for this review!
I personally really like this set , I don’t think they were trying to make a ucs shuttle , more of a one with okay features and you get darth Vader
I’m very happy to get this set and can’t wait. With that being said, yes... they should have included a 4th minifigure OR AT LEAST give us a Vader with arm printing.
4:04 I love the fan reflection on Darth Vader´s helmet
Great Video!! Your channel is awesome!
I hope this set goes on sale for $55 like most $70 sets have done recently. If so then maybe I’ll consider getting it, but if not then I don’t know. The figures are disappointing and that throat area is rough.
@EtianFrank do you have to wait time for it to go on sale? probably a dumb question.
Lego has been bumping it's prices for western Europe for the 2021 sets. The shuttle is 80 EUR here (= 96$). I won"t be buying it without a sale.
I really wanted to get a imperial shuttle and once I heard the news of one coming at 2021 I was so hyped now I am just so disappointed lmao
same!
As my very first Star Wars Lego set I’ve purchased with my own money I am very excited. I’ve always wanted a imperial shuttle!
My first Lego set that I purchased with my own money was the 2022 AT-TE
The imperial shuttle pilot is not new, I remember getting that guy in the micro Star ship in 2014 when I was 5 in 2014 but it came out in 2013.
This is a really sad set, I probably would've bought it if it had a whole cockpit and a darth vader with arm printing.
2:10 it is very similar to previous imperial shuttle pilot ( sw0802 ) but this one has different torso crinkles and belt buckle. so yes it's new. Hat, face and legs looks like the same for me, just torso is new.
Those hinges are from the Marvel Hulkbuster sets... I do like the design, minus the cockpit. I am excited to get it and think it will be a nice addition to my collection, since I don’t have a shuttle yet.
I like that it's affordable.😀👍
Relative to others yeah it kinda is but 70 dollars is still a lot
Vader and Luke bonding time.
The thing with this is while the x wing and Tie are sets that needed a $40-$50 down scaling, and stuck the landing pretty well. The Imperial Shuttle is more of a more of a courtesy, it's something that feels comfortable at the $90-$100 range.
Then again most of the problems could have been solved with like 20-30 pieces at absolute most, so maybe the price point isn't the issue.
11:26 Holy crap. I never thought it would be this durable, having never touched those modern imperial shuttles with technique piece going up and down as the structure piece
Ask mandr: will there be more battle packs or is this the end as I really wanna see an ewok battle pack?
this isn't a common request, glad to see that every taste is in nature.
It would be good if we could get 2 stormtroopers and 1 more imperial crewmember
you mean 6 minifigures?
2 imperial pilot, 2 stormtrooper, 1 luke, 1 darth vader
I know this video is 10 months old but the reason the lightsaber could of been blue in the early look of the set is because Luke’s lightsaber WAS blue in the original version of making ROTJ but changed to Green soon after.

I don’t understand why LEGO is remaking all those classic space ships instead they should focus on the Mando or maybe even the Clone Wars
@@yellowcactusproductions exactly! The mandalorian and clone wars are more popular than ever! And clone wars sets are outdayted now. But lego is like: no, lets make 10 x wings in 5 years and remake sets that aren't really old.
My personal theory: lego made the lightsaber blue in the instructions because in the early promos for Return of the Jedi, Luke actually had a blue lightsaber. I think this is a reference to that.
