    We used to burn alot of firewood. Was how we heated our house for many years. Between dropping, splitting, and stacking, you come across alot of different interesting peices that u could see turned into something. Hell get out there with him now and then. He'll enjoy the help and you will get hands on selection of unique wood

    Great Job. Isn’t great to get that first live edge out of the way. The sky’s the limit. Loved the little fingers helping out.

    Beautiful work! How do you like your grizzly lathe?

    • @scottsdalewoodworks
      @scottsdalewoodworks  Год назад

      Thanks! i like it ok for now. gets the job done, and one huge plus of the grizley is the motörhead can be turned to 90 or 180 dev.
      if i get enough views/subscribers, maybe i can afford a laguna or Powermatic.

    What RPM do you use?

    • @scottsdalewoodworks
      @scottsdalewoodworks  Год назад

      this grizley lathe uses a pulley based dual gear drive to adjust speeds on the ‘fly’ : low end is about 680-720, up to around 3000.
      with this piece i start as low as i can go, which is about that 680 rpm and with a blank about 10” dian, when i get to round i’ll usu go up the next ‘notch’ with the grizz, which is around 900s

    Smooth out your tool rest. It will reduce the skipping. Nice work, though.
