- Hey you guys. So this is a VERY random video, but I wanted to compare two popular hair brushes in the natural hair community on my hair. The denman brand denman brush is soooo much better than the knock off. The pad is softer and the teeth have more give so it glides better. I want to like the tangle teaser but the teeth are too short and my hair is too thick so it really doesn’t do anything for me unless I do TINY sections 😭 and I don’t have time for that lol.

Naturalia I've had the thick and curly version for a year now and it works BEAUTIFULLY for my thick 4b/c hair!
Yea the difference between the dupe and the Denman Brand is what the bristles are made of.
Naturalia i agree bc, when she brushes her hair with the dennan brush she gets more curls than the other one.
I feel like the fact that the denman brush allows you to rearrange it to fit your hair needs is a brilliant idea. Instead of making one brush for one hair type and many different brushes that might not quite fit with your hair type, they’ve made it possible for someone to change the bristles to meet their needs lol.
I have the same problem with the denman brush. I find it easier when I detangle with a wide tooth comb first then go in with the denman brush, it slides right through.

That's what I tend to do. The wide tooth breaks it up and the denman goes in and gets rid of the rest of the lurking shed hair. I will say, that I HATE how the handle and brush head are separate pieces.
You guys are using it wrong it's used a styling brush for defined curls , not for detangling, plus, you used a dupe
The Denman brush is not the same as the knock off. This isn't really a fair test because the denman brush works alot better then this.

I tried the brand Denman brush twice. I feel like that does pop out my hair even if I detangle my hair with a wide tooth comb
I love my denman. Only problem I have is even though I rinse it, the oils eventually breakdown the material holding the teeth

I'm going to be honest it's not fair for you to judge a denman "dupe" as the real deal denman. Also this video was pretty misleading since you didnt have and actual denman but thanks for the tangle teaser review.

I feel the same way about the denman brush. The tangle teezer is great but I realize after a while it’s not as effective on my hair for various reasons but my new favorite brush is by Evolve and I love it 😍🙌🏾
The Evolve is like the offbrand version of the felicia leatherwood brush but it works amazing on dry and curly hair
is the evolve brush a detangle brush? and does it work just as good as the tangle teaser?
I feel the exact same way about both brushes. I definitely prefer the tangle teaser when detangling (even though it gets slippery). But the denman brush does give good definition.
I was waiting for someone to do a video one this. The brush never worked for my hair it always felt like it was ripping my hair out. This helps me soooo much, thank you ❤️

I’ve used a brush similar to a denman brush. It does work but, my hair gets tangled at the ends, also. I’m glad I watched your video because I’ve never heard of the tangle teezer brush. Thanks!
I like the tangle teaser but it's hard to grip when product is on my hand. I keep dropping it. Therefore my vote is the denman brush.
+Ash Monique a lot of people have said that but I havent had any problems 😭 it slips out maybe once every blue moon. But they have ones with handles too
That's been my reason for not investing in a tangle teaser. With product running out my hair onto the brush, the brush would eventually get slippery and start slipping out my hand. I need a handle.
I didn't know there were ones with handles. Maybe one day I'll try that

Wow, this is a blast from the past lol I've been natural over 10 yrs and Denman was the "it" brush back in the day. I didn't know it was still popular. I was scared watching you detangle with it. Looked like it was gonna rip some strands out 😳

If you have fine hair strands like me, the continuous use of a tangle teezer causes breakage and split ends. Id recommend finger detangling with wet hair with loads of conditioner in sections instead if your hair is fine but thick like mine. It’s how I got it to hip length :)
Your hair looked so cute when it started shrinking up when you used the tangle teaser 😍 i threw my denman away when I got the tangle teaser. Its so much easier on my hair
I just used the Denman to detangle for a stretched perm rod set & I was having the same problem you were. My wide tooth comb works better but I'm going to try the Tangle Teaser now! Thanks for this video!!

You should try the detangler brush by felicia leatherwood. I purchased the large denman brush recently and so far I love it for detangling but that felicia leatherwood brush tho..!! I'll have to rebuy it since I gave it to my sister. lol.
Maybe it's the dupe that your hair doesn't like? Have you tried the real denman or the large styling one with 9 rows? I did have the 7 rows a long time ago and it did the same thing to my hair and even I took off some rows but still didn't work.
Natures Intent i haven’t tried the larger one but I love my tangle teezer now so I don’t need any other brushes. A lot of people are recommending that felicia leatherwood brush so ill have to try it just to see

True, the denman brush is ripping my hair out! I throw it away. When i used the tangle teazer it was better with detangling and less shedding. And it makes my curls pop😍

I got to say you made a great point because my hair is so curly the denman brush works good if I have a blow dryer to it but on wet hair not the best so I definitely need that little tamer brush you showed ... and the fact you could get through your hair with out product is amazing i have to leave my conditioner in to style my hair wet because it has more slip for my denman brush and better to detangle
Two things.
1. Your voice is so cute. 😍
2. The Denman brush is not for detangling. it is for styling. You're supposed to detangle your hair. then afterwards use it to curl your hair, but if you don't detangle it will pull out way too much hair. Trust me I learned it the hard way
I have a Denman look-a-like and noticed the same issue, however, I like the definition. About a week ago I bought a goody detangling brush, similar to the Tangle Teezer you were using. I am still testing it out.

The denman brush definitely works better when you take out every other row, it’s like a wide tooth brush, I threw away my tangle teaser when I got my denman brush and I have the same one you have, I feel the the tangle teaser did more ripping and getting stuck and I would always drop it

I loved the Tangle Teezer. It didn't pull or tangle your ends like the denman dupe. Bought a dupe and it ripped my hair out. The Tangle Teezer looks more gentle and easy on your hair, especially the ends. Where can I get one? Thanks for the helpful video and Seasons Greetings from New York City🎄!

I love my denman brush! It doesn’t snag my hair or anything unless it’s super tangled but one shouldn’t be using any type of brush when the hair is tangled anyway. Haven’t tried a tangle teaser

the point of the denman brush being customizable is so that it can work for everyone..its a smart idea.
The tangle teaser is the best for my fine hair the den man is just harsh on my hair and the same experience you had is exactly what I experienced!

I have a knockoff Denman brush I have a KĀNGĪ detangling brush comb coming and o can’t wait to try it. It seems like it’ll be the perfect hybrid between a Denman and my wide tooth comb. I’m also getting an Evolve Flow Through Detangler brush to test out. Before I got my Denman style brush I hadn’t used a brush in my hair in over 20 years, just a wide toothed comb.

The tangle teezer is definitely better at detangling than the denman. I just wish it had a handle bc it slips out of my hand too much.

I have to detangle with a wide tooth comb and then use the Denman brush. However, the Denman brush is great for defining curls with product. I am getting a tangle teaser though today from Amazon! LOL

The denman brush only defines my hair but yes, my hair tangles too. I only use a wide tooth comb because that works best but I am going to try a tangle teezer to see if it works better.

I can recommend the Denman D41. Been using it for years. I've tried fakes in the past but they are just no good.
I have that exact denman brush and it detangles my hair so well but the orange part keeps sliding out when I brush my hair😂

Omg the shrinkage is real.....Your hair is so Beautiful.....I have the same denman brush....never tried on my natural hair....I only use on my wigs.....I am scared it will pop off my hair....lol
That brush do same to my hair. Ihave to put a comb in my hair. I struggled few times wit the brush took to much of my time, i decided not my cup of tea. Im 2inches from waist length trim and inch but comb work fine for me. Want to try this tangle teaser though.
The dennuman brush is sooo good and the other I used to have the tangle tizzer when I was little and it never worked
Take rows out of the denman brush, it literally takes thirty seconds and afterwards it’ll work sooo much better than the tangle teaser

I use a shampoo brush. It costs 99 cent at my beauty supply. It's similar to the Tangle Teezer.
I have the same problem with the denman brush. I went back to using my wide tooth comb i might have to try the tangle teaser
The tangle teezer works well but after a while i noticed major hair fraying, not to mention the popping you csn hear as you use to closer to your roots. The denman works for me, wet hair and no product or full of product, the main key is our hair should either be soaking wet

Hold the denman brush vertically! Brushing in Vertical motion is specifically for detangling .
I like the cream of nature brush but I have the white brush and I try to do these styles but my hair is still growing so it’s hard and take way too long any tips ?its short btw❤️
The Felicia leatherwood brush is basically the “tangler wrangler” you can get it on Amazon for $4.....
Actually when using paddle type brushes your supposed to use it vertically!! Using it horizontally is to define the curls and using it vertically detangles! It sounds crazy but I saw a video that a stylist did and when I tried it it worked like a charm

I personally like the denman brush i think the doupes dones glide through easily because of the different padding I have coily hair and it's like the thing I've ever bought also I don't detangle my hair without products in it

How come when defining natural hair the ends are so curly but the roots are so frizzy, My hair does the same thing and yea the denman brush sucks on my hair it makes it frizzy and rips my detangled hair out even modified. The tangle teaser takes the win. You should do a comparison with the Felicia leatherwood brush that's what I use.
