Correction: The non-step through version of the RipCurrent S actually uses the same bars as this step through, so the difference in riding position isn’t as great as I was suggesting. However, my evaluation of this bike is unchanged by that.

Great review of this bike! I have an RCS and am thinking of this for my wife. I think it's perfect for her. I love my RCS! Best investment I've ever made. eBikes are really great things. It's a shame they're still misunderstood by so many rabid mountainbikers who seem to think they are the only ones who should be on trails, and so many parks who think they contribute to trail destruction. It's JUST not the case! eBikes are heavy and can be cumbersome on dirt, so wrecking trails isn't what most eBikers are going to do with them; most I know are simply trying to enjoy their ride, often in spite of physical limitations due to injuries and/or a previously sedate lifestyle. I'm trying to work back from a knee replacement, myself. Why can't we all just get along? 😂
There is a whole big world out there just BEGGING for us to get out in it! eBikes make that possible for so many who otherwise couldn't, or wouldn't, take advantage of it.

I have the same bike and I have rotated the handlebar back a bit as I want a more upright position. The bike is great on bumpy roads. I do like the torque sensor which I also have on my Specialized Como. Assembly was easy and it is well packaged. I had to make an adjustment to the left motor cutoff sensor when the throttle stopped working. Otherwise it has worked well in my first 150 miles of use. The closest competitor is Biktrix IMO. I think the weight of the bike is 76lbs with 52 v 19amp battery.

I have an early 2018 Juiced Ripcurrent S. It had some ECU and rear hub issues at the start that took a while to sort out, but since then, the bike has been one of the biggest joys in my life. I bought my bike just as Juiced was in the midst of a huge business expansion which is what caused my bike's issues to drag on, but they are past that now and so am I. I have done countless mods and installed some gadgetry as I love making my bike custom. If anyone wants to know more, I'll be glad to tell you what I know about Juiced and the mods I've made to my RCS.

I own a 2018 Ripcurrent S and I think its a good bike but its kinda heavy..I recently burnt the motor out after 7,450 miles. The torque sensor also went and on a windy day the bike fell over and broke the rear brake lever. I have been waiting now for 8weeks for tech support, sales or customer service to call me or email me back. I found a torque sensor on eBay and I bought it I also purchased new rear brakes from Tektro and installed it. Calling juiced bikes these days just goes to voicemail and you get to leave a message and then hope they call you. I have started parting out the bike and selling it off part by part to buy another brand..

🚲🚳 just got my step thru fat tire. With the upgraded 1K watt motor. I'm 5'8'' 65yrs young, step thru was the best choice. BUT.. maybe 🤔 it wasn't,, here's why,,being a straight fat bar instead of an being sorta like a slanted ( J ) shape bar whereas the bottom would be spread open more. But being straight for mounting the battery, plus the battery dimensions you just can't step through with ease at all. Also having that added tube that connects the straight bar to the seat post bar sits high,, you have to raise your foot way high,, and the width between seat post bar and the bottom of the battery just won't allow a person to pass there foot through like a traditional step through,, you just can't have both hands on the handle bars and pass your foot through sideways and instantly have your foot on the pedal ready to go,, instead you need one hand on the handle bars other hand on the seat and point your foot through while being raised high to get through that narrow Gap!! Standing flat footed while mounting or dismounting or just being stopped, the point of the seat is right there at your back because the battery got you at the crotch and handlebars are keeping your arms folded in,, it even harder for me to dismount because you have to point your foot out while you have to let one hand off the handle bar, even though I have small feet and I am not a contortionist,. It's more of a high walk straight through then a traditional side step through. It's better and easier for me to do the old fashion throw the leg over roll and go.. it been mentioned but I haven't seen a sponsored reviewer physically mounting these step through bikes ??? And if water bottle was added it would definitely have to be called a high step over rather then a step through, action speaks the truth and who don't want or need a water 🍼..

I just received my RCS and the components are different from yours. Your review model has name brand components where mine arrived with Chinese knockoffs. For instance, the brakes are not Tektro but “Logan”. The derailer is not microshift but Ltwoo. The rims and tires are unbranded cheap Chinese stock. What happened between your bike and mine? I’m not happy with Juiced for implementing these cheaper substitutions. Oh, and their customer service is non-existent. I fell I’ve wasted $2600. 🤬

My driveway is steeper than any public roadway anywhere near here, and this climbs it no issues.
