As a rider of this bike, it has also surpassed my expectations; I ride it on rutted fair weather roads, dirt roads with extreme grades in the winter on snow and on single track; I’m amazed at its capabilities
I took my girl friend’s RCS step through to places no $2000 cruiser ebike should ever be. Like a real MTB one track trails where I ride my eMTB with Rockshoxs that cost as much as this entire bike. She rattled like hell, I bottomed the front fork often, and was covered in dirt but she held her own and didn’t break. The cadence and torque sensor make the RCS a joy to peddle and unlike other crappy ebikes, it is fully geared out of the box for speed. At 30 mph I was still able to put torque through the pedals which is amazing compared to other garbage brands that would freewheel at 25mph. Coming from a guy who rides highend mid drive electric mountain bikes, I’m a huge fan of this RCS. It’s just a joy to peddle, have absurd range, and build like a tank.
I have owned 2 of the Step thru S bikes, sold one to a friend. The first came with Tektro brakes and Microsoft shifter. I like the Microshift system a lot. The second came with Logan brakes and Shimano Tourney. I had some problems with the Logan front brake shifter which the company replaced with Tektros. The Logans became spongy and nothing I did could fix them. I modified the from fork by adding a riser, new Cloud 9 saddle and NCX seat seat post. The new Ripcurrent S has an improved rear fender. I generally ride in level 2 and pedal the whole time. I can get around 50 miles on a charge. I am 5'9" and 260 lbs and I find the bike very comfortable. I like bikes with torque sensors. My other bike is the new Specialize Como 4.0
I have had mine for a year now. It is a white step thru, and has been a real joy to own and ride. I ride as much as weather permits and have only done minor maintenance, shifter adjust, chain lube, spoke tighten. That`s been it for 700 miles.
I can attest to the quality of the step-through Juiced ebike. I T-boned a car on a blind driveway at about 15 mph. I broke my hip and had to be rushed to the hospital. My grandson picked up my bike and took it to my home. After I got out of the hospital I thought I was going to need to replace a number of parts or the bike itself. I found two things wrong. The chain came off and the handlebars pushed forward. It took me 10 minutes to repair and get back on the road. This is an amazing bike.
This bike is really nice. It's a bike for an older crowd by looks but by features, it holds its own with any $2,500 or below bike 👍 One more great video in the bank!
I installed the upgrade kit yesterday and it is so worth it! Takes the bike to a whole new level. If you have never rode an e bike, you are missing out on the greatest thrill of your life! So fun!
I have one more update which is really important. After 280 miles, I decided to have a mechanic tune-up the bike and it made a huge different in performance. I am big and tall, and the fork suspension air levels needed to add 10PSI to adjust to my weight. Other examples include spoke tightening, gear adjustments, chain, and brakes. Great bike, I am riding 20-25 miles every day here in PDX!
I have been following juiced for a couple years and have been so close to picking one up! I'm just over 300lbs, what's your weight and how many miles per charge do you get?
@@ShutterContinent I 6'4" and weight 255lbs. I can get up to 40-50 miles on a charge. If you have it on sport or racing mode it is more like 25 miles. The range is great and represents 2 hours or more of riding, which is awesome. It will have no problems taking you up any hill and the best part is exploring all the trails in your area. Make sure you get the performance upgrade and install it once you assemble the bike. So worth it...The bike is fun going 20 MPH on trails, but you will want to go fast on the road. It's the best investment I have ever made. I ride 20+ miles almost everyday and have lost 20 pounds in 2 months.
For 2022 bike, The RipCurrent S Performance Upgrade Kit contains all the parts needed to go up to 30mph on throttle only. Just finished pre-ordering mine!
I have three of these bikes for the family. Juiced's factory screwed up my first two bikes (brakes !!) . They did correct the issue and made me very happy.
I just bought this same bike, with some accessories online, yesterday. This bike takes the cake for me as it fit all my needs and the sale price is awesome! I should receive my bike in ten days… Thanks for sharing! 34:26
Juiced makes good stuff, and the last time I raced a Hyperscrambler 2, it managed to keep up with a RadMini pretty well on crushed rock trails. I really like the dual sensor setup, and may try it out myself. I think the only downside to this model is the throttle on the wrong side, but that shouldn't be too hard to fix 😉. Thanks for the video!
I got mine last week. It is amazing. The combo of cadence and torque sensors is awesome. I could easily get 70 miles in Eco mode and some PAS1 and maintain a comfortable pace of 13-17mph on the trails without too much effort. It hits 30mph in PAS Race, and much faster on a downhill. You can engage the throttle at any time in any PAS level, though the motor on throttle does not provide power above 20mph. If you want to go to 28+mph, just use PAS-Sport or Race. The throttle is great if you are mostly on Eco or PAS1 and you need a little more power to climb a hill. You don't have to change PAS level or shift gears to get up that hill. Then at the top you let go of the throttle and you are solely in PAS again. This will help you get max range on your rides.
I manage 75 miles range on a similar motor, gearing and battery set up. Flat ground under 15 mph, I would guarantee 70 mile range for most everyone.. PAS speeds of under 15 mph really increase range big time.
I have one of the first 2018 RCSs ever made with the 52v 21Ah LG 18650 cell battery and I must say this bike is the unspoken hero of fat ebikes. I'm not just saying that as an owner. I read the rags and watch all the fat bike videos new to the market with their myriad of bells and whistles, and when I finally made the decision back in 2018 to buy, I had it boiled down between the OHM, Surface 604, Rad Rover and the Juiced RCS. BTW, the RCS did not get the best introductory reviews, but you could tell once things got ironed out at Juiced, it was gonna be an incredible value for those that are't buying it as an appliance). What I mean by this is that I did not simply want to ride my bike. I wanted to be a part of the upgrading and maintenance of it. This is what I consider my hobby not just riding it. IMHO, there are 2 types of fat ebike out there; the ones that are literally an appliance and ones that make you want to learn how they function. This bike has made me understand things I NEVER would have understood with the other ebikes I mentioned. Just the fact that you get a metrics screen on the LCD gives you information that takes you places the others won't. Sure it's not for everybody, but when your bike needs a tuneup, just try and bring it to your local bike shop. In Rhode Island they won't even look at it if it wasn't purchased from them. There isn't a part of my bike I won't learn, understand, touch, adjust, upgrade, etc. There are videos for all of this, and none of it is very hard. I even installed an upgraded headset and front fork. You just might want to have a decent bike stand that can hold the weight of a fat E bike which I purchased a few months after the bike. Anyway, if you want to be a part of your bike so that you understand what's going on with it, the RCS by Juiced Bikes really is a great bike for this.
I have 2020 RCS and love it too, but am a little disappointed that the Gen 2 upgrades are incompatible with the Gen 1 bikes we have even though the Frame appears to be the same.
Juiced is a sporty and performance focused ebike brand. Their bikes alway shreds. The problem is their frame design and displays are practically ancient compared to brands with integrated design and modern displays.
One note: when testing or riding an unlocked class 3 Kepler ... Which I do only on private land of course.. You will not have low PAS speeds with the limit set higher than 28 mph or 45kph.. Your lowest PAS speeds will be much faster than normal E Bikes. In order to achieve speeds with PAS 1 below 15 mph you will need to go into the settings and lower the top speed to 45kph or lower. 👍 The display does not have a setting to give a % of power for each PAS level like some displays have.
Just wanted to say after spending $2k on a very powerful Ariel Rider Kepler step-thru (not!), I ended up selling it because it was just too big. It has everything you dream about: 1k motor, 52v battery, etc. It was so strong - could race up any long steep hill - amazing bike for the money, BUT, you have to be 5'6-1/2" minimum to ride the bike (I'm 5'3"). So I then bought a RAD Rover 6 Plus. I feel much safer, easy to get on/off, can escape in a fall, etc. BUT, it's a dog. I test rode it for 2 hours on hills yesterday, doing every combination of assist 2-3, gear 2-3, then throttle....by the time the throttle kicks in, the bike would have fallen over, so you have to brake, stop..... I then tried throttle only, and again, makes it 1/3 way up a fairly steep hill, then dogs out. I was hoping to commute to work, but I have to get over a large hill (White Hill in Fairfax, CA). This won't do it :-( So now I am extremely bummed. Not sure what to do. Order the new Juiced RipCurrent S bike??? or try and upgrade this somehow. Controller seems to be hidden inside the frame, as is part of the gutless battery. Reply
Kepler is huge. 😂 yes I think 5'6" is on the shorter side for a Kepler . Step through is ok but still high. More like a mid level step through. If you remove the rear rack you can get a seat height a couple inches lower .. Then need a aftermarket rack to replace the stock one. 🤔
I think there might be a controller upgrade for the Rad 6 plus.. Have to look into it..👍 Maybe I'm thinking of an upgrade available for the Ripcurrent S
So what did you get Kim? It sounds like the step-thru Rip Current S in their smallest frame is your solution to your problem. I've seen them on sale periodically for as low as $1,700 for a specific color. Hope you found something you like.
The hyper fat 1100 was the best bike they had but now it's off the market it went 40MPH I have one but it died and now that they discontinued production I only have memories!
OK, I’m not even going to watch this video. I have a juiced rip current S, I’ve written about five times. The battery completely died. It’s been a long contorted process to get this fixed. Every time I talk to somebody I start from scratch and it has been a tooth pulling tedious experience every time. Now I’m being told that because I don’t have a key, I have never had a key as the bike was put together by a shop, and I was never handed it, that I have to literally pry part of the bike apart. This is after dealing with the stuff for about A month now. Occasionally I’ll speak with somebody who knows what they’re talking about and actually cares but overall it’s pathetic. The last girl I spoke with, took the cake. I am giving up and investing in a whole new bike. From a different company. Enough said.
So now that you have had this bike for a while, what are your thoughts on the off brand components? Any updates on any issues with the performance of the bike? Would you spend more money getting a bike with branded components? Thanks in advance for any feedback.
odd question: what's your inseam? I'm considering this bike but I'm just a touch under 6'2 with a 32" inseam. Some people close to my (our height) have longer legs than me. So overall rider height is a bit deceiving for sizing these bikes. I saw the 3rd person footage you mentioned. Thanks
@@EbikeEscape thank you so much for the reply! Very helpful video and very helpful answer to my question. Truly a big thank you to you good sir for just generally populating knowledge out into the world! Much appreciated! 👍
I have seen new controller and display option for these bikes in their store. 35 amp controller? Not sure that it will be available for this step through model.
My 2018 RipCurrent S, now with over 4000 miles, came with better brakes and tires (both since replaced and upgraded) than this newer model and the older 750W motor performance is nearly identical to the 1000W. Why would I "upgrade"?
I don’t think there is a big reason for you too. If you like your current bike and are having no issues, stick with what you have. But for newer riders the larger battery, motor and air fork might be worth it.
@@EbikeEscape The new upgrade just showed up. Haven't installed it yet but I read a review from a guy who did install it and he said he did 36 37 miles an hour on flat ground I'd be more than happy with 35 but I always pedal my butt off. Never ride the throttle except to get going
I'm 6' tall and I think you'd be ok. Though you can always opt for the high step which might fit you better. Up to you. Appreciate it if you use our link if you decide to buy.
Juiced’s ability to switch between torque or cadence driven modes is a key differentiator for their brand. All but their RipRacer has that ability. I wish my Ride1Up LMT’d had that ability. While I appreciate its higher torque hub motor (100 vs 80Nm) and torque sensor, but there are times my injured knee acts up or I am towing cargo and I wish I could switch into cadence sensor mode to reduce the load on my bum knee.
Ariel Rider Kepler is for you. Same size motor but much faster. Better looking display. Little larger battery.. About the same tooth gearing. Much beefier rack. $1,799
pay same item twice ordered motor/wheel for hyperscopion. 550.00. package was left on public sidewalk without even a knock @ door. it was stolen. Juice offered a 30% discount on replacment. other large companys refund/replace (amazon/e bay). customer service is good @ juiced. But company is greedy. if item is ordered thru them I suggest you sit outside all day for delivery or YOU will be paying again.
Wired Freedom/Cruiser is MUCH better!!! 60v 20ah 2300 watt peak and $500 less! The Freedom is also full suspension and offers a much more comfortable ride than a hard tail.
I'm sorry, but this bike is junk. No warranty support from Juiced at ALL. This is even after I filed a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau. The Logan branded brakes are a knock-off of Tektro's brakes that you can buy from Ali Express for 40 -50 dollars for the whole setup. The brakes are junk, and I had problems with them within 3 months of owning the bike. The chain snapped within 4 months. I had to replace the brakes with Sram Level brakes in July. I also think the shock no longer works either. I'm not rough on the bike; I mainly use it for commuting to work.

Thank you for bringing it to our attention. When it is pointed out they are very easy to find. This is probably the 30th time I have gone through and removed a chunk of these comments.
@@EbikeEscape Do you know of these. I’ve researched the hell out of this and I have only found one brand that has a specific bike for smaller people…with all the bells and whistles like a “Big Boy” bike. Of course they’re constantly out of stock. The other bikes that say down to 5’1”. I CAN ride those bikes but it’s mighty uncomfortable. It’s really a stretch to reach those handlebars. Waiting for smaller bikes.
What an Ugly eBike !!!! Look at that bulky battery stuck up there - -- yuck. Way over priced - - A step through with a knee banger battery. 🤪 No thanks.
The speed limit is due to federal regulations. To be considered an ebike, it must not provide power past 28mph... I think this motor is more than capable of going faster than 28mph 😉

@@EbikeEscape thank you so much for the reply! Very helpful video and very helpful answer to my question. Truly a big thank you to you good sir for just generally populating knowledge out into the world! Much appreciated! 👍
I would also like to apologize as I realize you did mention this in your video.
That's a nice bike. One of the few I like.
I have seen new controller and display option for these bikes in their store. 35 amp controller? Not sure that it will be available for this step through model.
When will you be doing a review on the Juiced JetCurrent PRO? Thanks
Unfortunately nothing planned.
Super helpful video, appreciate it.
What is your recommended front shock air pressure? I can't find any info on that for the provided fork.
This or the Aventon Adventure 2?
Cool review. I just ordered a Rip Current S but I could t activate your discount offer. Is there a way to do that ? .
We don't currently have a discount offer for Juiced. They just typically run sales on their RipCurrent models. Enjoy the Ebike!
What did you do with the extra wire
My 2018 RipCurrent S, now with over 4000 miles, came with better brakes and tires (both since replaced and upgraded) than this newer model and the older 750W motor performance is nearly identical to the 1000W. Why would I "upgrade"?
I don’t think there is a big reason for you too. If you like your current bike and are having no issues, stick with what you have.
But for newer riders the larger battery, motor and air fork might be worth it.
I just bought a juiced ripped current S xl version for… 425$ I just need to get the pedal assist checked out and order a charger 🤗🤗😅
Amazing
I have that same motor on one ot my bikes, lot of power, but mine only top out at 29 on its own power,
Where I grew up, the " step thru " is a girls bike. Just the way it was ( and still is to me. )
Does the delay in motor shutoff when using the cadence sensor (24:50) only happen when the torque sensor is turned off? or that happens all the time?
Torque sensor was turned on for the entire review so what you hear is when it engaged.
Come on man. Put some effort into it. When I pedal I pedal my ass off
I get 31 mph
Today my upgrade is coming. Can't wait! Probably be doing 35
Really, wow! Have you verified with GPS? What upgrade did you get?
@@EbikeEscape
The new upgrade just showed up. Haven't installed it yet but I read a review from a guy who did install it and he said he did 36 37 miles an hour on flat ground
I'd be more than happy with 35 but I always pedal my butt off. Never ride the throttle except to get going
please review jupiter ebike summit!
Those are some Massive houses back there. Congratulations on being Well off. In the next life maybe I'll be so lucky.
Living in the country in Wisconsin helps. These houses are not as expensive as you would think.
@@EbikeEscape ❤❤
What's the maximum torque on that Scorpian?
How comfortable would this be pedaling for someone who is 6'1 and I need to be able to ride in an upright position
I'm 6' tall and I think you'd be ok. Though you can always opt for the high step which might fit you better. Up to you. Appreciate it if you use our link if you decide to buy.
Black Friday deal make this e-bike only $1500 bucks(high step version), $800 cheaper than $2300 wired freedom.
why is this not on your best fat tire video if it leaves the rest in the dust? Thank you
It will be 😉
okay......at 5'3" the RipRacer sounds likes it would fit me better
Juiced’s ability to switch between torque or cadence driven modes is a key differentiator for their brand. All but their RipRacer has that ability.
I wish my Ride1Up LMT’d had that ability. While I appreciate its higher torque hub motor (100 vs 80Nm) and torque sensor, but there are times my injured knee acts up or I am towing cargo and I wish I could switch into cadence sensor mode to reduce the load on my bum knee.
No need to switch.
I think it's a great feature to turn the torque sensor off.
For me the screen would eliminate this bike. I don't like the small screens but that's just me. I won't even look past that.
Ariel Rider Kepler is for you. Same size motor but much faster. Better looking display. Little larger battery.. About the same tooth gearing. Much beefier rack. $1,799
@@kevinnashskitchen3517but does it have a torque sensor?
@@datamesh8418 No.. Just has torque 😂
pay same item twice
ordered motor/wheel for hyperscopion. 550.00.
package was left on public sidewalk without even a knock @ door. it was stolen. Juice offered a 30% discount on replacment. other large companys refund/replace (amazon/e bay). customer service is good @ juiced. But company is greedy. if item is ordered thru them I suggest you sit outside all day for delivery or YOU will be paying again.
better display and 60v controller and id be in
Oh yeah 😎
I have Not got my Refund and no bike 😢.
What were you trying to get as far as warranty? Sorry to hear about your experience but thanks for sharing.
Their warranty support is great.
No one answers the phone at the company. Red flag. 👎🏻
You have a scammer trying to lure commenters into some money scam.. Just saying. Same scam is in many channels trying to get info and money from false promises. Let people know.
Thank you for bringing it to our attention. When it is pointed out they are very easy to find. This is probably the 30th time I have gone through and removed a chunk of these comments.
Any bikes for petite person? No.
Are you asking? There definitely are
@@EbikeEscape Do you know of these.
You probably can't afford it. So there's no need to worry.
@@Casanova395 When You already have 3 way more $$ than this nasty affording is the last thing I worry about -- 😂🤣👏👏
At these prices it should be faster than 28mph!
The speed limit is due to federal regulations. To be considered an ebike, it must not provide power past 28mph... I think this motor is more than capable of going faster than 28mph 😉
I have the regular, not the step through. Imagine being 250lbs and hitting 30mph on flat ground in race mode.
It's not for everyone! That's pushing it for me too
I’m 250, I hit 30 with ease! Love the bike
