Great review! Love your energy and thoroughness. Thinking of getting these for their versatility. Thanks Digital DJ tips! You guys have some of the best DJ content on youtube. Keep up the excellent work.
Thanks so much for the kind words Alex :)
I have been using the HDJ 2000s for about 5 or 6 years now and love them. I ordered a pair of these to just use for bluetooth with my phone. I plan to still use the 2000s for DJing, but wanted a similar sounding pair for bluetooth audio. great review.
Thanks for watching, hope you like the headphones :)
Great review , awesome energy and very informative , will purchase some of these for sure for casual use
Glad it helped Miguel :)
Nice Review ! I have a question? I know the headphones are Bluetooth capable, but can I use them to answer calls on my phone also ???
Hmmm I'm trying to compare this to the Pioneer DJ HDJ-CUE1 BT, In conclusion these headphone have a similar design to their flagship HDJ-X10
X5BT better IMO because they have passive cancelling, which is almost as good as ANC and a microphone.
Amazing visuals and reviews, thank you, you got me thinking about buying these :)
Glad to help!
So these are great headphones for regular daily use? Can get these for 145€ nos, considering pulling the trigger on these even though i'm not a DJ.
Hi nice video thanks very helpful. So could you also use these wirelessly for Zoom on a Mac.. as they've got a mic in built?
Macro shots hit nice... have a sub
Thanks!
Really love the red colour
Me too! Part of my every day carry bag now :) -Joey
I cant wait to get my DJ headphone by Pioneer DJ Just add it to my amazon cart and soon I get it that will be my go to DJ headphones I got the same headphones HDJ-X5 which works great. I will use that if I had a guest come over for a Interview or a guest DJ who want to do a set with me. I can't wait till I get the Pioneer DJ HDJ-X5BT that's going to be sweet!! I'm getting the mmm the red looks smooth indeed I will get the red ones if they got in the amazon cart if not the white ones just in case :D. Great Review on the head phones.
Hi, how was the experience with HDJ-X5BT after 4 years of use? I'm thinking of buying these headphones and I have read some bad reviews about the quality. Please tell me :)
I'm interested. I like the red ones also.
Yeah they're pretty nice :)
hello, is this waterproof like x5 ? & how long time to charge the battery until full & the battery usage.
No it's not :) Not sure about charge times...
Thanks for the review, answered a lot of questions but I'm wondering if these headphones are better than the Audio Technica ATH M50X BT. Which ones are the best according to you?
You're welcome :) Haven't reviewed those in full but we like Audio Technica headphones in general
great choices.. own the ATH M50X BT add on, great soounds, clarity, not bassy is what iliek, and getting these HDJ-X5BT-R
I love your review! The quality of the video and the way you explain things, made the 7 minutes feel like 1 minute. Keep up the great job!!! I do have a question: I own the red HDJ-X as well, but is there an on and off button?
The white light keeps flickering since I first used it with bluetooth (I only used it to dj with before with the cable) but now I connected it with bluetooth to my phone, the white flickering light doesn't go off.
Thank you again for your review!!
Thank you :) Yes there is an on/off switch on the ear cup where the cable is connected
@@digitaldjtips Ah I see, thank you!
how was the experience with HDJ-X5BT after 3 years of use? I'm thinking of buying these headphones and I have read some bad reviews about the quality. Please tell me :)
Awesome review! Sweet and short. Got enough info for me. Gonna get these!!! 👍
Glad it was helpful :)
They all good for tv use?
Don't see why not!
The headphones have to be charged to use them with the cable ?
Yeah my next question!
iam a dj just about to try a gig. Iam planning to buy it now, should i?
Really good headphones.
Nice review!
Thanks Meisie :)
Is it durable for daily listening?
Yes I'd say so :)
Adjustable band is it alloy or plastic?
plastic :)
im hundreds getting this, how much? and can i ship them to South Africa
US$149 :) yes you just need to look for an online seller that ships to you!
@@digitaldjtips we dont have 1490 rand for earphones here
Would these be great if I use them during the gym would like to know if they sound good enough in a noisy environment to where the headphones sound loud enough to get me pumped up
Yes they should work well for that :)
Hi, how was the experience with HDJ-X5BT after 4 years of use? I'm thinking of buying these headphones and I have read some bad reviews about the quality. Please tell me :)
What would be a step above these?
The HDJ-X7 are good :) You can also go for the Sennheiser HD-25
I see where you're having the pressure problems. It's your temples on your glasses. You're sandwiching your ear between the temples and the headset. We had that problem with our Comtacs and Oakley's during combat.Oakley solved that problem by making slimmer temples.
I bought two headsets for the same reason as you. A crying baby on a long flight to Barcelona is very annoying. Over the ear headphones are a must. I also bought the HDJ CUE1BT for the gym.
We're actually loving the Apple Earpods Pro for day-to-day - the noise cancelling isn;t perfect but it's enough to take the sting out of noisy situations.
Are there any wireless headphones on the market that are suitable for DJ'ing?
Even low latency Bluetooth is 32ms so no, there really isn't anything available on the market yet.
We don't generally recommend wireless for DJing
@@digitaldjtips why?
Thank!!!
Because it introduces noticeable latency, which is the enemy of beatmixing.
How long is the battery?
Not sure, sorry - a few hours is normal.
NICE.
Thanks for watching :)
Usb micro in 2018??? Where's the type C? Makes these a pass IMO.
They're not one of our top picks beyond casual/occasional use :)
Is this available now in PH stores?
Yes I believe so :)
I want one😍😭
i wish the extended part of the arc were red too
It's the little things isn't it? :)
How much?
US$149 :)
How long is the battery?
Fun video...
Thanks!
Sonyn, LG and Samsung (and regrettably I admit, Apple) have solved the BT latency problem, so why can't everyone else?
Not sure on that one!
Nice
Cheers
Can you use those to make a phonecall ?
Yes :)
excelenTTT
:)
PLEASE HELP:
Honestly i've NEVER heard a more muffled and bass heavy but treble absent headphone in my life. Even the standart smartphone earbeans deliver a TON better sound quality. I'm really dissapointed because i've spend 130 euros for this. Free equaliser apps don't do anything and the sound only gets better when bluetooth connect it via my iphone and listen songs on spotify. For some reason my laptop (acer predator helios 300) cannot give output when i plug it in. When connected to bluetooth the sound is muffled, i don't hear high sounds AT ALL. I really like the design and everything is really nice about it it just doesn't function at all. Please help, i wanna hear the nasty drums and heavy guitar riffs of Mick Gordon.
Hi Ray! So you're saying it works fine on your iPhone with Bluetooth, but when you use it on your laptop via Bluetooth / wired it sounds bad?
@@digitaldjtips YES!
@@digitaldjtips Sorry i sounded rude i've jus invested my christmas budget and it''s pretty dreadful experience so far.
It's OK dude :) You may just need to check your PC's EQ settings - there may be a specific EQ setting that is being used when you're using your Bluetooth connection / codec. Because if it sounds fine when using your smartphone, then there's nothing wrong with the headphones.
Ray Adnyana yeah bro, the problem is ur laptop
The same thing happens with my car sound system
When I connect my android the music sounds weird and low
But when I connect my IPhone the music quality it’s way better
I bought Beats Studio 3 THEY SUCK
No Bass BARELY
Now I'm trying to find a Pair That BUMP And DJs Know What I Mean.
I'm Tryna Figure Out Now How To See If These Pioneers Are Gonna Have Better Bass
I hate this
Hate plastic, wheres the full metal ones?
Not at this price range, unfortunately...
aptx low latency support is great...but the bluetooth sound is crappy, very noisy. i dont know why headphones in these price levels have such a lousy sound which is FULL of noise. 30$ soundblaster bt headphones can beat this! the worst thing is that the nosie is much bigger in left ear. so for someone with good hearing, this is such a waste of money !!!
Charging cable black and not red....that sounds like lack of attention to detail .......hmmmmm
That will certainly bug some DJs haha
Thank you for the thorough review! I too am loving the red colour.
To improve the latency issue, you can easily add a simple upgrade to them with SKAA adaptors and get only 18 milliseconds of latency, verses the 2 second delay.
Attach the Skaa AKIKO to your DJ Controller Headphone jack and into a USB battery pack
www.skaastore.com/akiko/
then add the Skaa RUSH to your headphone with a usb battery pack
www.skaastore.com/rush/
or just buy the Dellinger Helix with the Skaa RUSH and you will enter into a game changer of true wirless pro djing
www.skaastore.com/helix/
Interesting, thanks for sharing!
Are these meant to be DJ headhones?? ahem... Excuse me, but unless I've missed something, if there's a 2 second (!!!!) audio delay due to wireless bluetooth latency, that means that you SIMPLY CAN'T MIX / DJ WITH THEM! Seriously?... lol
Yeah you'll need to use the cable when DJing but the bluetooth is nice for casual listening :)
@@digitaldjtips Ah ok - then the bluetooth function on these is indeed NOT MEANT FOR DJing. Good that that's clear now. Begs the question though of why on EARTH Pioneer would add a bluetooth option on DJ headphones ("HDJ"..) if you can't use them. These headphones are not comfortable AT ALL for casual listening (I have the regular HDJ X5's). They are too heavy and rigid and not soft on the ears either. I mean, when compared to my bluetooth Bose Quiet Comfort 35II headphones, the X5's feel like "torture" lol. NO WAY I would ever wear the X5's at home - unless I get into masochism lol - so I can't see who would buy such hard headphones for "casual"/home use, and why a DJ would buy them if he can't DJ with them using bluetooth because of the insane delay.. Maybe this model wasn't well thought out by Pioneer.. :P
No stickers? not buying this crap ;)
Lol :)
