The last Pioneer HDJ headphones we reviewed were the HDJ-2000MK2 in 2016. Now, Pioneer is bringing it's flagship headphone line back with three new over-ear models, the HDJ-X10, HDJ-X7, and HDJ-X5. We really liked the HDJ-2000MK2, so we're really excited to review the HDJ-X10. The new HDJ-X10 has even better and more durable construction and new 50mm drivers that have the widest frequency range for any DJ headphones on the market. Check out our full review video and summary in the link above to see how these hold up to the DJ abuse! Видеоклипы
Thanks for the great review.
Great Review, as always Kareem... I just bought a pair today... Hopefully, Pioneer is not getting ready to come out with a new pair, since these been around three years already.
awesome review man!
Brazil here
Awesome Headphones, love the soundstage.
Hola Amigo! one question, you mention that the X10 are in you top 3 dj phones, could you tell us your top 3? thanks, great videos.
Hi There.. I liked your review on these X10 Headphones. I've watched a few of your review Video's.. Very good.. You tell it how it is. That's great.. So I found a pair of used X10 in Black.. There so great.. Good. Good sound.. Thanks for all your Video's.Keep up the great work .. Cheers .Steve.. Happy DJ
Thanks for watching! I still have mine too. Never giving them up.
My pockets! I still love my Sennheiser HD8s. Might have to replace my HdJ 1000s for these. Thanks again for the reviews man!
You have the Pioneer HDJ 1000 ? I had three pairs of them during the last 10 years. The ALL broke right under the hinge. Over time the plastic just cracked. Did you also experience something similar? I bought them again, since i really liked the sound btw.
John Galois nope. I have had mine for about 4 or 5 years now, but I don’t have a ton of gigs but I used them for casual listening.
I love my hd8’s too but these are much louder. On my srt-1000 I need to crank the headphone volume almost all the way up. Gonna be rocking the pioneer’s for a while.
Utterly amazing! And over the top. Which I like. I feel the HDJ-2000 MK-II is extremely amped up. Perhaps we use the word differently. I do use them for mixing in studio like you mention, but only for a few minutes to hear as much detail and especially issues as possible, before it's back to something more comfortable.
They are some great headphones. Good for many different uses.
@@kareemthedream6084 Indeed.
Kulaği tam kaplamadigi icin rahatsız mi ediyor?
Good to ‘hear.’ I tried out some of the “latest and greatest” headphones. Most were way too bass heavy and exaggerated.
excellent video thank you! you mentioned they're your top 3, what are the other two that would be in your top 3 ???
V-Moda M-100 or V-Moda Crossfade 2 Wireless
Great review as always. Pioneer Hd-jx7 vs Hdj-x10 how is the sound between these two? Is theHdj-x10 worth the extra just based on sound I'll be using these just for pleasure listening.
THe X7's sound like the older HDJ-2000MK2 while the X10's sound like a high-definition listening experience... Its worth the additional price as far as sound is concerned IMO... Some like the sound signature of the HDJ-2000's better but I like the X10's much more. The difference in sound is very noticeable.
Had them for a year now as an upgrade from my V-Moda M100s and definitely feel no need to upgrade again anytime soon. The bass is nice and punchy, but not muddy and overhyped like you get with Beats.
I agree! Great headphones!
I want the BT version if they make one in the future.
Are the earcups size the same as the HDJ-2000MKII? I just want to know if they completely sit around the ear
Not sure if they are the same exact size but they definitely do fit all the way around the ears.
Which would you recommend between these and V-Modas Wireless 2 Codex edition?
The V-MODA are my favorite, but these are really good for the studio and the DJ booth...
A lot of people say in reviews that de lack of punchy bass make them hard to use in a DJ cabin, because you canno't hear the bass for mixing in transitions, could this be possible? Thanks!
The bass definitely hits hard with these. I've never heard that these have a lack of bass from anyone before...
@@RealDJblaze I saw it in this review and in two others:

Thanks for the response!
Where is the mono switch?
Hi Kareem, My thorough musical delight needs to be guided by an expert
... high quality by all means.
the Piooner HDJ 10X or Beats Pro (400dls) ???
Thanks for the praise! I like the X10's better, but the Beats Pro are still really dope to me... Some people don't like the way the Beats Pro sound, but I do... The X10's have a 3D soundstage to them and it sounds like the music is coming from a 360-degree circle around you. It's a little hard to explain, but they sound more "HD" than the Beats Pro. The Beats have more booming bass and are very loud and built like a tank though. I've had mine for many years now and they are still the same design...
Kareem I'm confused between x10 and 2000mk2 what do you recommend?!
The X10 if you want that HD quality sound...
Great vid 🙏🏽🙏🏽. Which would give me a exciting experience in your professional opinion. The X10 (pioneer ) or Hd 8 (sennheiser) ?
The X10 for sure... The HD8 were always a bit weird to me with the way they cant forward on your head...
DJBooth Pro Audio seeing reply now . I did order the HD8 , I’ll keep you posted on how I like them . Will get the x10 in Sept . Thanks for your reply , keep making great vids . I’m a huge Audiophile , find your Video’s very detailed , educational ,and enjoyable. Great vid personality, stay blessed and safe . 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Excellent video!! Can you tell about 7x and 10x , do they have the same grave bass ? Or 10x its better ? Becuase Im about to buy the hdj7x . Do you recommend this 7x ?? Regards.
Thank you! The X7's sound like the older flagship HDJ-2000MK2 which is a great thing. They still have booming bass and sound great. Still a professional headphone. The X10 just has a bigger soundstage and makes the sound act as if it were in 3D if you get what I'm saying...
@@RealDJblaze Man !!!! If you say 10x is like 3D sound, I'll go for it I think. It worths it because if Im gonna spent money. Another question, what about the BEATS PRO $400dls are they good ? This pioneer HDJ 10X are better than beats pro ??
Esse lindo fone🎧 pega no modo bluetuf? 😮
If you couldn’t use ear buds, would you travel with these and use on a plane? For comfort and good sound?
I actually don't ever use ear buds. So on the Plane, I use V-MODA crossfade wireless headphones. They are the best to me in size, weight, style, and comfort. Check out my reviews of them on this same channel.... These are a bit big for continuous use... Better for DJ use only.
Haw it looks like comepering with aiaiai tma2 dj preset?
I like these better than the aiaiai DJ preset, but you can make your aiaiai's different to compete better with the X10's.
If ur looking for a pair of budget dj headphones that are nearly as good as these get the behringer hpx 6000 there unreal!
Nice review. What do you thing about HDJ-X7? The Pioneer HDJ-X7 are better than Pioneer HDJ-1500? What is your opinion ?
i'm looking forward for a review on the HDJ-X7 too, there are no reviews available for it right now. But surely on sound quality it should be better than the HDJ-1500 but on robustness, i'm still unsure about this
They say the X7's are supposed to be like the 2000MK2's so I assume they should be better than the HDJ-1500, but I'll do a review to verify...
It's super. I am waiting.
Course. But over the mixer a Crossfader M100 Master ! :)
Do you plan on doing a comparison between the other 2 models in the X series? Long term tests as well?
I probably won't get the X7's... The X5's are very different from the X10's though in build quality and sound quality... Even though they look very similar.
@@RealDJblaze how are the X10's holding up now that you've had them for over a year ?
@@LordMoebius EXCELLENT! Still perfect!
@@RealDJblaze thanks for your honest opinion
Can we compare these with Crossfade M-100 Master? Which one sounds better?
That would be an epic battle... I like the shape and feel of the M-100 Master better, but the X10 sound is crazy too... I'll have to compare the two and get back to you when I'm set up in the new lab!
@@RealDJblaze hi , final thoughts comparison ?
thanks to be honest about the sound ;) i prefer the hrm 7 :D
The shelf of doom lol.
My HDJ 2000s broke a year after owning them, was super gentle with them, at max would just toss them in my bag for work every day. Pioneer was not very helpful in trying to repair them or anything. Spent alot of money on them and they were basically useless. The sound quality was great and I purchased them specifically because I thought they would be tough but naw... They did not live up to the promise.
They were also kinda uncomfortable, not enough padding around the cans. Hurts especially if you have piercings.
Do they fit completely over the ear like Beyerdynamic's do, or is it more like an MDR-7506 fit? I can't tell the size from the vid/website.
Completely over the ear.
@@kareemthedream6084 Thank you. Do you know if the X7 and the X10 are the same size?
@@RobHTech They are similar. Both go completely over the ear
@@kareemthedream6084 Thank you. Are they SQ than SPL? Is the SQ good/great/other that I can use them as a daily for listening to Techno? I have beyerdynamic 990 Pro, and the SQ is great, but not enough SPL or bass. I'm thinking the X7/X10 might be a good alternative. Any thoughts?
@@RobHTech Not sure about the SQ vs SPL, but the 990's are very flat and more suited for studio use. The X7/X10 will have more bass and probably more overall loudness. They won't be as crisp and clear as the 990 but they will "thump" better for day to day listening...
Thanks for Your Expert opinion 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
My only concern with these is the circular ear cups (instead of oval-shaped). I have really long ears, so I typically look for headphones with a longer shape in the cups. It would help to know the exact dimensions of the ear cups.
These are very big earcups inside but I these are actually in a box somewhere right now and I won't be able to get these out for the measurements... They should fit over your ears all the way though.
I've just unpacked them. The cups just about cover my ears and mine are only average size. They are durable but very heavy and as such grip my head tightly. My head isnt ain't that big. They are quite uncomfortable to be honest maybe they need breaking in I dont know
@@robwainwright2942 If you get a chance, could you measure the inner dimensions of the ear pads? (The diameter of the space where your ear goes in mm or inches)
The diameter of the ear cups are 8.6cm. The cushions themselves are 2.3cm thickness give or take. Thus inner hole is around 4cm. Done a few mixes sessions with them now I'm liking them more and more tbf
@@robwainwright2942 Cool thanks
this may be a weird question but does it have a microphone?
No they don't...
How are these compared to HD-25s?
both are totally different. The HD25 fits on the ear while the X10 fits over the ear. The X10 is louder, has better build, and costs more than double, while the HD25 is a great all around headphone for monitoring in a lightweight fashion. I have reviewed both, so go check my HD25 reviews.
I've been buying Pioneer flagship headphones for as long as I can remember and they're great while they last. Here's the part I hate though....I have both pairs STILL, but both pairs have gone defective in the same way where only 1 side works, but if you move the cable, the other side will cut in and out. Tried replacing new cables and such, but its something on the inside. While I am in the market for some new headphones, Im hesitant to buy these because in a ew years I'd bet anything that they do the same thing as the previous ones I've had have done. Are you still using these headphones? I wish someone would make a video on how to fix the issue because I cant be the only one its happened to.
I do not have these any longer as I sold them a while back. Didn't have any issues when I had them but V-MODA is my go-to brand.
@@kareemthedream6084 thanks for the response. About how long did you have them for before selling? Do you have any videos reviewing the V-Modas? How’s long have you had your pair of Modas? Any issues?
@@djreaction1 I had the X10 for like 2-3 years with no issues, and I still have every single pair of V-MODA headphones I've ever owned over the years. They all still work and get plenty of use. You can honestly save money and purchase the older V-MODA Crossfade LP2 brand new if you can find them as they are still a great set. If you need the bluetooth features, then you can get the wireless version. The only thing I've changed out on them over the years is cables and earcups. That's it...
@@kareemthedream6084 My SZ2 DJ controller doesn’t have that feature. I’ll check out the LP2’s. I sincerely thank you for all of your fast responses 👊🏼
Recently got these for $50 off ebay and I love them compared to the Sennheiser HD25. Very sturdy and comfortable construction, way more comfortable to just have 1 ear on. Isolation is decent but you get bleedthrough which isn't a bad thing. I don't get why some people say these have no bass. They have bass, it's just not bloated like with most other headphones. Treble is a bit peaky which isn't great for music listening but good when you need to hear hihats in a loud mixing environment. Removable mini XLR cable is also a huge plus. Their regular price at nearly $300 retail is a bit much, but I feel like these will last a very long time. I had another friend test them out during a session and he prefers them over his HD25 as well. Just way more comfortable. Like someone else said however oval earcups would've been nicer instead of these round ones. It does get annoying wearring earrings at times.
How did you find the isolation compared to the HD 25s?
@@sparsh319 Isolates better than the HD25. I could wear these in the subway and hardly hear any outside noises. For passive isolation that's pretty incredible.
@@Drinkyoghurt appreciate your response!
Which one are best jbl or pioneer
Suswa Zyane pioneer is good if you want headphones but senheiser is better but jbl is not good for mixing and only for mainstream music on cellphones, iphone etc.
Kareem Every Product You Review I Buy It :P
Thanks!
I broke my Mk2 this is a must
Those compared to the Sennheiser HD25 ?
U said definitely top 2 or 3 so what’s your top 1
V-MODA M-100 Master OR V-MODA Wireless 2.
Price to indonesian
That price....... damn.....
I'm a nine year old Dj. Would the headphones fit me
yes they will.
Thanks for the advise
Also would it fit in the pioneer DDJ 400
Anyways I'm only a beginner
No
Whats the deal with that shelf and constantly dropping things off it 😂 you need to be a bit more careful.
lol, what dropped?
Proprietary connectors are evil.
Mini XLR is hardly proprietary...
My pioneer mk2 are for sale anybody out there let me know and they are blk. My lost your gain
Sell on ebay!
Are they still available?
Andrew Sim yes
Never liked the Pioneer headphones or speakers, sounds awful, very overpriced.. I'm sticking to my technics rpdj 1200 from 2004 wich are made in japan and are still around 150$, and for a 100$ you can have a best buy - audio technica pro5mk3
I used to have those metal Technics headphones that were really expensive. Those broke at the hinge as well after some time though. These probably won't.
Just got mine, I'm very disappointed.
Sound quality is STALE.
The $100 price range headphones sounds even better.
Just like the Denon DJ, Pioneer is more expensive, but less innovative . Denon is better, but WTH ! Its not industrial standard.
Are you serious about the headphones?? I just got mine today, got them for 280$ brand new.
this is so boring
Food reviews are on another channel
Sorry they dont do xl10s yet just x10
