When you're playing in a club a little extra bass is welcome if you're beat matching by ear.
Was looking at these. Buying them today. Just picked up my first controller yesterday. Got the numark mixtrack platinum fx. Cheers from the u.s!
Good choice!
been looking for some new headphones on a budget, think im gonna get these now cheers mate
No worries, they are decent for the money! :)
Just ordered a pair then saw your review. They'll be here tommorow and i can't wait :-)
Good choice!
Thanks, Karl! I appreciate your video! Just purchased some!
Thanks giving your time for the video 👍🏻 thinking of getting a set 👌🏻
No problem 👍
I have a set of Audio Technica ATH-M50x headphones and though they didnt cost the earth and they wont cheap either and they sound bloody incredible.
My HDJ-X5 broke at the connection to the ear cups on both sides at the same place. This happened after ±1½ year of use. By the way, I did not use them very often and certainly not professionally. Pioneer says on its website about the HDJ-X5: "All the HDJ-X headphones feature a refined look and durable construction." Well, the construction of this HDJ-X5 is not at all durable. Positive: the sound quality and the wearing comfort are good.
same old story with Pioneer
Great video! i just purchased them
Spot on this review, definitely a bit bassy - not a deal-breaker, if your thinking of buying
@Karl Gosling What is the diameter of the earcups? Could someone measure for me please?
I'm not a dj or sim driver but I love watching your videos, keep it up.
lol thanks mate! :)
How is the isolation on them? I like to feel a bit isolated and protect my ears while i concentrate on my mixing in a loud club.
No better or worse than other Pioneer headphones I've used.
these Headphones are really great to use but the plastic which holds the ear piece together started to crack after a year of using.I guess the bottom of the range means just that in the build quality .The cable is pretty good and the earphone section works like a charm but i guess its time to get a new set of something better
please help???? know they do not include A MIC, OR SOME OF THE GAMING HEADSET FEATURES, BUT ARE THEY WORTH IT IF I USE THEM FOR GAMING>>???(PLUGGIN THE 3.5 MM INTO MY XBOX SERIES X CONTROLLER, FYI?) I THINK THE IMPEDANCE IS 32, SO THEY SHOULD NOT SOUND LOW ON MY CONTROLLER WHILE NOT USING AN AMP, SORRY FOR CAPSLOCK.
so out of these, the hrm 5, or the cue 1. which pioneer dj headphones sounds best? i know the hrm 5 are production headphones but can you dj in them?
Just got these last week..go well with my pioneer cdj set up..perfect for the bedroom DJ.
Sound great for the money don't they! :)
Karl Gosling yeah absolutely,I’ve not ha a chance to mix with them yet as I’m still waiting on my speakers to arrive..but have listened to my tracks with them and for the money they are very good!
A year later, do you regret buying them or would you still recommend them?
@@ivanpetrovic6417 absolutely no regrets...Still going strong 💪
Decent review, cheers 👍
Thanks 👍
can i use this pair of headphones with a "logitech DAC" from my "gaming headphones" Logitech G433 ?
If they plug in then yes.
Hello, would you recommend them for just listening to music? Most of the time I listen to rap, hip-hop. Thanks in advance!
Yes I would, they a plenty comfortable.
Good for guitarist who want to make video collaborations on the Internet? Patchwork videos?
Mega, cheers mate.
Do they come with the 3,5 to 6,3mm jack or do i have to buy that my self ? Thanks
Yes mate they do.
@@KarlGosling Thanks for the answer.
can we use it in studio ??? during mix and mastering ?.
Bit boomy for studio use IMO.
is this good for newbie? and for ddj sr2 controller? thanks mate
Yes mate.
Had two of these DJ headphones. There are good but both pairs had broken parts on the screw connections to the ear cups. Looks like cheap parts . Disappointing that Pioneer build quality is poor. At £89 a pair they should last for a few years or more but these haven’t. Now looking to return. They bang on about being robust but I am susceptible to this.
Overall ,is it a good headphone after few months of usage?
Still using them to this day yes mate!
HDJ-X5 Is Good For Production?
A touch boomy.
Pioneer HDJ-CUE1 headphones are amazing. I also bought HDJ X5 and returned the product 20 minutes after unpacking. The HDJ-CUE1 are truly amazing in terms of sound. Much better in low and high tones than HDJ X5. Additionally, the X5's are big and bulky and I don't like them at all. X5 They are poor :) The ambient separation in the X5 is also poor compared to HDJ-CUE1.
I RECOMMEND HDJ-CUE1. They are great!
can i buy this for djing ?
Thats exactly what they are for mate!
Thanks man
No problem
Are they noise canceling
No mate.
And also Durability bro
Bought these yesterday and I'm going first thing at day break 9am back to the guitar store to return them. I like balance, thought something was wrong with one ear but I guess thats how they come. I plugged them to my phone and it wasn't even loud enough. Trying to set up a home studio for recording music. These things are not for me. They will be going back and I'll have to add extra few dollars if it means getting exactly what I want. They look sweet for a cost of $99 but that's all. By the way they had more horrible reviews than good. For what am reading they destroy in less than a month... Tuhhhh they are going BACK!!
They are DJ headphones mate, not designed to be driven by a tiny phone amp or used in a studio environment, too bass heavy.
Choose something made for purpose :)
@@KarlGosling yes correct. After watching your vid I went and switched it. Haven't tried them yet but thanks for your review. It helped a bunch
I own a pair of these headphones and after 2 or 3 years i could say... avoid these ones. Despite the sound of it is ok, they are quite heavy for Djing and the worst thing, the cover of eco leather or whatever it is covered, was completely broken even they were always kept on their bag... not recommended....
Bought the Pioneer HDJ-X5BT that developed cracks on the arms that connect to the speakers, asked for a warranty exchange, supplier says no as this is normal wear and tear after 3 months so no exchange or refund, would not recommend these at all. 20,000 opening and closing - in your dreams
Years later and mine still look like new, maybe they have changed the material?!
@@KarlGosling I think so Karl, thanks for the update
You sold your cdjs 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤨
Yeah my CDJ 2000 Nexus' went years ago, then I had a XDJ RX2, then retired from playing out and bought a tiny little Hercules Starlight controller out of pure curiosity! lol Then the Numark Platinum FX and now I have a DDJ 1000SRT-W :D
Build quality is complete garbage. Had them less than a year and they fell apart. The plastic that attaches the earpiece to the headband completely snapped at the bottom on both sides rendering the headset useless. Good job they came with a 2 year warranty so i was able to get them replaced under warranty.
Dont buy it, it fall apart from its own after 4 months. Some have crappy plastics
Mine literally still look and sound like new.
Heeeeeey, you're a sim racer lol. I just purchased Triple 65" LG C3 OLED's. I'm putting it together next week. Your triple 55" provided a lot of insight! Thanks for the review on these headphones.
I just bought a pioneer opus and a lil flx4 to practice on.
You on IG?
Glad I could help mate!
No not on IG.
