    I have been using the BT version now for over a year. They get heavy usage during the weekdays at the gym and on the weekends at DJ gigs. They have held up really well considering the abuse I give them. I also have the X10s and I love them as well. The CUE 1 are the perfect gigging headphones for the beach, or that club/bar where stuff goes missing. If these go missing it won’t set you back $370 like the X10s.

    These headphones are absolute tanks, my #1 recommendation for kids, whether they're into DJing or not. After my kid cracked a bunch of $20 headphones, I got one of these, and they've lasted two years, still looking and working as good as new. When rotated, the ear cups are about as thick as the headband, so the headphones can be packed flat. Great for throwing into a school bag.

    The Pioneer’s are solid. I love my HDJ Cue1. Pioneer tends to make really huge earcups and I’ve never been a fan. These are comfortable and fit my ears perfectly.

    I recently had my own shootout between HD25's and Pioneer HDJ- x5. Like Mojax, I found the Pioneer to be very bass oriented and although they had a rich warm sound, the HS25s were just so crisp and clear that I found I just couldn't justify the marginally better comfort of the Pioneer over the sound quality difference on the HD25. I also wear my headphones round my neck in-between mixes and found the X5s to be very chunky and a bit uncomfortable, so can only image what the X7s or even X10s feel like which are bigger still. I still love my Technics 1210 headphones but the replacements are £170 so out my budget. I picked up the HD25s for £109 before Christmas so if your budget is around £100 then can't imagine there's a better sounding headphone than the Sennheiser HD25s which is why I just bought my 1st pair.

    Nice Video.. looking for a second pair of headphones without like breaking the bank... I want the bluetooth, but if I use em for mixing even wired I feel like there will be something interfering... Also worried about ion batteries eventually dying and then not being of any use... Wired is always the way to go for me. Nice video.

    I have them since June 3 2021. They have been great, now this week the black pads started to peel off.
    I got the green ones as they (for some reason) were $3 less
    It was easy to
    Change...
    And looking for another year and a half.
    I will buy another set and it may be a second pair (maybe bluethoot
    I have zero complaints.
    They are really bassy, but you can hear well the song, so no complaints.

    My CUE1 has serious quality problem in ear pad and coil cable after 1 year. The ear pad started peeling off, coil cable "break" in one section (it's the plastic coil, the cable it self remain ok but there's no safety anymore) and it's not comfortable for long hour use for me. Thankfully there's HC-CP08, too bad there's no black ear pad & cable option

    I've been using HD25s for 5 years+ until they got stolen. It's perfect for bedroom djs, but if you play at a festival or a loud club, you have to crank the volume very high since the isolation is very poor. Yes - sound quality is great, but it's been a hassle to beatmatch more than once in a really loud environment.

    If @PioneerDJ was smart, they would have a low latency wireless transmitter built into their mixers, patent it whatever protocol they develop, then build it into their headphones so we can finally get good wireless headphones for djing. such a HUGE opportunity they are missing. They would kill in the headphone market because if you wanted to benefit from the eco system you would HAVE to buy their headphones.

    • @djperryboy
      @djperryboy Год назад +1

      They will get sued for that like Microsoft. Anyway I think that Pioneer want to be a honest company and have a good reputation. It started as a student project after all. And they are already world leading in physical mixer sales and sound quality masters. Only reason they are not biggest seller of headphones is that they always provide exellent quality and style. Therefore the price tag is too high for everyday people that are not a music maker or DJ. They will go for a cheaper brand with a high listening experience like Sony or Sennheiser or maybe a even cheaper brand like Champion or LG.

    • @lsdave
      @lsdave Год назад

      @@djperryboy How would they get sued? There are a bunch of companies doing low latency wireless audio. There is no way that the concept is protected. The patent would be for their own protocol so 3rd parties couldn't make wireless headphones that work directly with their mixers.

    • @djperryboy
      @djperryboy Год назад

      What is the point with that? People can buy other mixers. Or use any virtual mixer with a simple midi controller. Microsoft got sued because some of their equipment wasn't made to work with other brands.

  • @Drrolfski

    I remember using a cheap pair of Pioneer headphones every DJ was using in the nineties (forgot the type) for the simple fact that they were closed, unbreakable, and incredibly loud, which was all that counted back then. They sounded horrible but you could mix with them in a loud environment. That was until I upgraded to the Sennheiser HD25 II in the 2000's and never looked back since then. I still use these and this is basically the only headphone a DJ ever needs, the rest is just fluff.

      Yes and not, in a high noisy environment hard to hear really well things and to beatmatch. Meanwhile the CUE1 is so much better in a noisy environment, volume management (if you don't totally trust your autogain of DJ software) is also much more better on the CUE1. In fact the CUE1 should just have a bit wide sound image to be for me the perfect DJ headphone. I like with lot of bass and it seems more and more people do like some boost around the 50-70hz frequencies.
