"Women's Method" White Crane Boxing of Zhejiang

Bai He Quan Nu Ren Fa "White Crane Boxing, Woman's Method".
This school is traditionally referred to simply as Nuren Fa "Women's Method" and is practiced in Lishan village, Shuitou township, Pingyang county, Zhejiang prefecture.
According to the oral traditions of the school, this system was created by Fang Qiniang in the Bailian temple, in Xiapu county, Ningde prefecture, northern Fujian province, where it was passed on for several generations.
Li Wenyin of Lishan village is then said to have learned this system of crane boxing during the reign of emperor Jiaqing (1670-1720) from two brothers by the names Su Donbin and Su Dongyu.
The style is called Nuren Fa "Woman's Method" in reference to it's creation by Fang Qiniang.
The style has a number of unique boxing forms but also retains some classical white crane form names such as San Zhan Liu Lu "Three Battles Six Roads", Ba Fen "Eight Parts", Qian Zi "Thousand Character", etc. as well as other sets such as "Golden Cat Washes Face", Thunder Battle", Luohan Boxing", "Forked Hands Five Fingers", etc.
Today the senior most master is Ji Bangsong who was born in 1923 and known for his skills in Nuren Fa martial arts and in traditional medicine.
He has helped popularize Nurenfa around Shuitou town and has many students and grand students.
*Fang Qiniang the founder of Fujian White Crane is said to have come from Lishui prefecture in far southern Zhejiang and to have created the white crane system in the Bailian temple in Xiapu county in far northern Fujian by most Fujian white crane schools, so all of that is standard white crane mythology.
Also Liushui and Wenzhou are both prefectures in Zhejiang and are both located on the border with Fujian. Ningde is a Fujian prefecture located on the border with Zhejiang's Wenzhou prefecture.

This is pretty different to the pantomime looking Women’s Method form you posted up years ago.

That one is a completely different system. Forms and even styles with Nuren / Meiren names are pretty common around certain areas of southern China. So you see woman's boxing / woman looks in mirror type sets all over. They tend to be especially prevalent in white crane but they can also be found in other styles. The crane versions tend to be pretty subdued with the more overt pantomime type ones being more rare.
