Actually, if you slow it down you'll see that he just lets it bounce off to the floor and his hand already has another drumstick to continue, the original bounced off to the floor.
@Steph4Xmen it all begun with blink 182 in 2000. 3 or 4 perfect albums, being the one called blink-182 the better received by critics and fans... Those were different times, mainstream music didnt use to suck like present days, mtv kept on rotating these blink videos all day. Listen all albums from first to last and you will notice how they were developing themselves, they were always evolving and thats why they are an epic band. Im 24 so I lived the most of this changes. Definately the greatest band in the world. My most upsetting year was 2005-2009, when they were apart. Love it now their back together and hopefully for good and forever.
This is honestly how most bands sound pre-production. Even live shows tend to mix the audio live, although it seems little mixing was actually done here.
At 1:37 if you put the playback speed on 0.25 you can see the spark actually happened at where his palm hit. I’m assuming he had oil or something on his palm and when he started strumming fast he caught a spark. Tom actually caught fire😂🔥
what a fucking band I bought my first album at 99 enema of the state, well my my mom bought it . lol little did she know what it was about. I fucking love blink. i about to be 30 still here.

I fucking love Blink and the "sideprojects" and the self title album is probably one of my favourite albums of all time but Obvious just never grew on me. I just don't like it that much. Am I a bad person? I think I am
@holyshiteater it's actually a custom made Fender based Toronado, it was a short lived model for a guitar 1998-2007 what really gives this away is the lack of bridge, when the Fender Toronado first came out it didn't have a bridge because it was "through body" stringing.
Yeah, this song is in a lower tuning and Tom prefers to use baritone guitars for that instead of downtuned normal scaled guitars. He did have a custom made baritone version of his Gibson later on but it was not an actual Gibson.. I think Tom got the model he plays here out of the deal he had with Fender before he switched to Gibson.
Hot take: Tom's best live performances were during the self titled run because the band was really pushing themselves to make "art" and improve their singing (aka trying)... my other hot take is Tom then left the band cuz he didn't ever want to try that hard again lol (aka spend time with his family)
@TheRprojekt No its definetley a humbucker, just like his signature guitar. its a gibson 335 srtipped with one dirty finger humbucker and a volume knob. i wouldnt be suprised if this jag had the same dirty finger

His expression there kills me every time lmao
toms guitar caught fire at 1:37 ish! so badass!
Whoa it did aswell
How the hell is that possible
He put it out directly after with his awesomeness.
think you'll find it's just a light reflecting off of his pickguard
Could it have been a spark from his pickups? Thats was not a reflection for sure...

Literally. I went to this video to show my friend what I did to my jazzmaster, and I did a bass build pretty close to what's seen here on my channel
I own a lot of guitars and basses because of mark and tom
Exactly. I bought my first humbucker for my Strat bc of Tom's build.
Dude they’re the greatest band of all time. When I was younger nobody knew who Blink was. Travis is the next Neil Peart
That tuning and chord progression is just 😊..amazing record
I love this version of Obvious. It would be awesome if Blink could make an album of raw post-hardcore that sounded just like this video.

AOL is still a thing lol
Not a good one.

It's so awesome how they're still only 3 people during live session. Usually a 3-member band would have backup members onstage. Blink Rules!
1:52 look at Travis's left hand, he does some kind of flip with the stick thing hahahaha
damn good eye haha would have never noticed that. hella cool though

Travis actaully broke the stick, you can still see the stick in his hand as the other peice fell off
Damn that was good
Can't believe this is 18 years ago...and I still regard this as ' new era' Blink
When Travis flips a stick so fast it's past the frame rate

Can't believe this was 13 years ago, miss those times! :)
