    That’s funny. I had no form of identification except for a flight from Seattle to Reno. Had it stolen. They asked me a few questions that only I would know, they have it all in a data base.

    Hi Ben,
    Will the TSA accept a MX matricula from a Dallas consulate? By itself or along with other documents? My relative lost their passport.

    • @BenDreamVacations
      @BenDreamVacations  2 года назад

      Hi Paola, the matricula by itself isn’t enough to get you through security but with other documents it will definitely help if they are just traveling within the US. As long as they are able to verify their identity they should be good but it’s probably best to contact the TSA directly and find out for sure. www.tsa.gov/contact/customer-service

    Thanks a lot for your video Ben. I’m a temporary resident of Canada travelling to a different Canadian province in a couple of weeks. My passport is water damaged (all the information can still be clearly read and I also have a photocopy of my passport) I do not have any other Canadian issued photo ID. I’m an Indian citizen. I do have my credit, debit cards, sin information, a temporary drivers license (non photo) and an open work permit as well. Would these documents be enough for me to get through CATSA? I only have two weeks until my departure and am unable to get a replacement ID as soon.

    • @BenDreamVacations

      If your passport is readable then that is a good thing. If they need to scan it and are unable to do then the other forms of ID that you have should be enough to get you through security.

      Sorry to hear you lost your wallet. That sucks. Since you are 18 you are required to have your own ID. Your dad being with you might help, but I am not sure. Do you have any other forms of ID like a passport, birth certificate, student ID, social security card? If you have any of those take those with you to the airport. If you have no ID then TSA will just ask you a bunch of personal questions and as long as your answers match up with the information they can find on you then you should be good to go.

    I am an international student and i had a laundry accident with my passport. I have a flight next week to Indianapolis from grand rapids, Michigan. I also need to travel to the embassy in D.C. to apply for a new passport. Will the TSA accept my damaged passport as an ID. I don't have time to get a state ID but do have temporary paper state ID. I have my student ID with name and picture, Social Security Card, Credit Card, I-20, I-94 and bank statements. Will I have any trouble during my upcoming flight pre check?

    • @BenDreamVacations

      If your passport is still legible and your face is still clear, you can still use your passport. A paper temporary State ID won't be accepted but the other forms of ID will work but you will have to go through a verification check if your passport is not accepted.

    Hello i have a question regarding identification for airline boarding. I have a flight coming up on 2/15/2022 for domestic flight for Hawaii. My drivers license expires on 2/12/2022 and i did renew it but I don’t think it will come in time for my flight. i don’t have a passport, and all i have is the receipt that i paid for mr drivers license renewal and have my US citizenship certificate. Will that be allowed for me to pass TSA without any issues? I did see that starting from March 2020, expired drivers license will be still allowed for people to pass TSA and get on the plane with no issue, will that apply for me as well?

      Hi Diane, yes you can fly domestically with an expired driver's license as long as it not more than a year past the expiration date. You can take your renewal receipt just in case but you shouldn't need it. Enjoy your time in Hawaii!

    I hope you see this cause I’m in tough situation. My mother never filed for my birth certificate and I no longer live with her. She put me through school using baptismal records. I have my student ID from high school but all it has on it is my name and photo. I also have a debit card that has my name on it as well. Is this enough for me to get on a flight? I have a friend who is going to be buying my ticket and I’ll be flying with him, if this all works out. Unfortunately in my situation these are the only two pieces of identification I have for now. Is this enough for my flight? I haven’t been able to get a legal ID because of my mother and I’m currently going to have get the authorities involved because of it. Still is this enough for me to fly? Is there any possible way that my friend buying my ticket allows me to have easier access to fly either? I’m currently homeless and this trip is the only way I can start to get my life together. Also I have my SSN but I do not have my physical card.

      Hey Ruben, those forms of ID's that you mentioned are good. Check in with the airline first when you arrive at the airport and tell them you lost your ID. Once the airline confirms your identity they will most likely issue you a boarding pass with a note that says you do not have an ID. Then when you get to the security lines tell the agent checking ID's that you lost your ID. They will then go through the ID verification process with you. Just make sure to arrive to the airport early so you have enough time to complete the process. Safe travels tomorrow!
