NITTO NOMAD GRAPPLER | First Impressions w/ Ford Maverick FX4

- I was invited up to Washington by Nitto Tires to Check out their new Nomad Grappler all terrain tire that they've developed for light SUV's, CUV's and Crossovers. This tire is well suited for those lighter duty awd vehicles that play a double role as family haulers and weekend adventure and overland rigs.
I was fortunate enough to spend some time behind the wheel of a new Ford Maverick FX4 that Nitto provided for us to take up a rough forest road to get a feel for how these new tires performed with the kind of vehicles they designed it for. They also provided other awd vehicles like the Toyota Rav-4 both TRD and a Hybrid, a couple Ford Bronco Sports including a Badlands edition and of course the adventure standard Subarus.
This was a really fun day, and a big thanks to Nitto for inviting me up here to check out their new tire and meet some cool like minded folks.

I can vouch that these tires are the real deal. I work as a wildlife biologist contracted with US Fish and Wildlife surveying aquatic turtles. To get to our survey sites we have to cross various terrain; mud, water and mud, dirt, forest trails, sugar sand and loose gravel. These tires keep my Crosstrek moving easily through every trail and they also drive great on the road and especially in the rain.

Considering for my Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. Curious about on road noise and gas mileage.
How well would these tired do on a Chevy avalanche
That’s a lot of wheel spin on them AWD 😮 I’m considering this tire for my 4Runner. I’ve had KO2, Wildpeaks and Toyos AT3 here in Washington, KO2 horrible in Rain, Wildpeak and Toyos better but sidewall too mild imo.
I just put these on my RAV4 Hybrid AWD, with road tires I get about 42 MPG. I'll see how much the MPG hit is.
how was it?
I have a set on my Toyota Highlander AWD. Replaced stock tires at 50k. Great tires, highly recommend. Only complaint is the 1-2 MPG hit.
They are probably a few pounds heavier than the geolanders. Side walls and treads are a bit beefier
@Dr.Squints about 45K on them now. Treads and sidewalls are definitely beefier, and they do weight a few lbs heavier than the OEM all season. Very happy with them.
@Yardie_in_Tampa I'm ordering a set tonight for my 17 crosstrek. Glad to hear they gold up well. Have you experienced and deep snow with them?

These tires give Too much road noise
Don't most all-terrain tires do that?
No i own the cooper AT3 XLT'S no road noise at all@@thebeast9606
