I logged in just to write this comment. Spectacular video! I really like the lack of music and all the ambient sounds. This is so refreshing! Everybody is tired of the boring music on all photography videos. I love hearing all the conversations, the laughter, the kids, the cows, and the accents! Please make more like this!
“Can I shoot it..?” 😂. What a wonderful confirmation on the power of “the 28mm” in the right hands. I also appreciate how satisfying the real-time sounds, with no distracting background music, are to this video. Love seeing the value of human interaction as part of the process when done so authentically. Thank you for the inspiration.
I just love Sarah's photography... She has a natural way of capturing just the right scene at just the right moment. And I love the gentle polite way she interacts with those around her. Always enjoyable to watch the "Walk like Alice" videos!!
Some great captures here. The lack of music is really immersive and very valuable to hear those interactions etc. Interesting just watching Sarah just waiting for the frame to present itself as well.
Love the real-time audio. Really makes the video, imo. Clever bit with the chicken lining up right when the cages photo popped up. Too many favorites to specify. The shot of the boy getting wrangled about by the sheep had great action lines (from second show) and stuck with me. The stoic shot from the same vantage point with the line of kids from the first show was amazing too-- great shape welding how the white jackets all meshed into a single graphical shape. I could go on and on. Brilliant work.
Cool shots. First image I saw was the ticket lady with glasses behind the glass through the gap. With the timber of the hut also. Nearly like it was in the video but with her face proper.
The Monochrom is such a remarkable camera series. I have the M246 and use it daily. I can't imagine life without it now. Beautiful compositions in this video.
Thank you. We used to think the Mono was a bit of a gimmick. Then we got one for the higher ISO capability and realised that it actually changes your mindset and how you shoot.
Really enjoyed this. Shooting county shows with a rangefinder and a 28mm is one of my favourite days out too. Did a few this summer. Your processing is top too.
Beautiful video and pictures. I'm wondering why you have an additional 28mm viewfinder mounted on top of the camera. Doesn't the M monochrom also have a built-in 28mm viewfinder like my M10?
I just found your channel and am so happy! Loved this first video. Am curious why you use a frame line optic on the hot shoe (perhaps you have Leica with a view that isn’t magnified for a 28?
Thank you. I’m left eyed so it’s more comfortable when framing, and I can see the framelines more easily. It’s hard to see the camera ones when wearing glasses.
Agree, the degree of sky darkening made me think it was more than yellow. But the sky looked really blue, thus the effect. I’m reminded to use a hot shoe viewfinder for this type of shooting. The monochrome really makes these images.
@@garymc8956 It's a little different with the monochrom cameras, they don't behave exactly like film does when you apply a yellow filter but also if you shoot jpeg or RAW, that can make a difference.
Something I just realized. The GoPro you are filming with has a much wider field of view than the 28 mm you are photographing with. So I suspect you are closer to these s7bjects than the looks of it in the video. Is this an accurate observation?
Lovely pic's. lovely lady, lovely lens and focal length, shame about the camera. I'm kind of over Fuji at the moment, after scabbing it with them for over a decade. Wasn't until I swapped to a FF system, two years ago, that the lights came on. My pictures were gorgeous, my customers commented and noted the difference, by business increased, and i could finally pull up shadows in an image taken over !SO 1,600, that didn't turn to custard. Sorry for the rant, but I had to get that out of my system.
@@WalkLikeAlice Oops - my bad. I was actually watching another clip on YT, about a Fuji with 28mm. I chose the wrong tab to write the comment. Please disregard.
What a gem of a channel, so glad I discovered it. Thanks for taking the time to share your visions. I really appreciate the ‘no music’.
Thank you so much.

Excellent I love my M11 Monochrome & this shows the beauty of mono
Thank you
Love a story well told via the lens. Plenty of well-seen images one after the other.
Thank you so much.

Thank you. That’s a very nice thing to say.
That was absolutely lovely -and also divine inspiration. I plan to take my camera out tomorrow to a state fair across the pond.
Many thanks.
Thank you for watching 🙏
Great reflections on the shows. I am from a farming background, and you capture the essence of these small shows so well. Thank You
Thank you. That’s very nice of you to say.

Thank you. Yeah, we could have made the video an hour long as she stays with some shots for quite some time.
This is brilliant. Sarah's got a special way with people. Wonderful clicks too!
Cheers Gary
What a well put together video.Very good photos and a live ..as happened sound track.
Glad you enjoyed it!!
A masterful use of the 28mm field of view.
Thank you for sharing this.

That could be the most satisfying shutter sound I've ever heard!
It’s like an M6 with a motor winder.
@@WalkLikeAlice Sounds like the M9's shutter
@@dbkoalaIt's the original M Monochrom, which is the M9 with monochrome sensor 😄
Always a pleasure seeing Sarah's fantastic pictures!

Some lovely pics there. That was a fun watch.

Wow. I just learned so much about composition and shooting. You’re quite skilled.

Fantastic video. Great to watch, amazing photography 🙌🫡
Thank you so much. 🙏
Lovely frames, Sarah! Reminds me of my every day life at our place with horses, goats, sheep, chickens, and dogs here in the Pacific Northwest!
Thank you
Fabulous!!! Thank you!!
Thanks for watching
Great stuff, Sarah! If you are going to the Westmorland County Show in September, I might see you there 😊
Yes. Both days!!

Thank you. Jeff is in charge of processing!!
This was good. Keep it up this way!
Thank you.
Great video again! Also huge respect one paid to get in instead of just asking free entry to take pics.
That never occurred to us!! These shows struggle to break even a lot of the time, so it wouldn’t sit well with us to ask for free entry.
Love it❤
Thank you
You got some good images there Sarah!
Thank you
Lovely video and shots

Beautiful video and pictures. I'm wondering why you have an additional 28mm viewfinder mounted on top of the camera. Doesn't the M monochrom also have a built-in 28mm viewfinder like my M10?
The external viewfinder is easier to use when wearing glasses.

Very nice!

Great videos. Fascinating watching you both at work. Ignore the trolls.
Thank you. Generally we do, but now and again the sheer stupidity of what they spout needs to be seen.
Very Nice Shots , composition in black & white !!!
Is black & white mode in the camera is used or is it done in post processing?
Thanks. The cameras only shoot b/w.
really funny video! I see wellington boots ought to reqd!
Always!!
really enjoyed that
Thank you
Very enjoyable and immersive. Some great captures. Are you using zone focus or auto focus, or a mixture?
Thank you. Everything is manually focused or zone. If I have time, I’ll manually focus.
Is this a film or digital camera...that shutter sound is wonderful!!! 😊
Leica M Monochrom (digital). The film cameras are quieter.
What model of 28mm lens is this ? Wonderful video
Thank you. 28 Summicron-M ASPH (11604)
Thank you!
I liked the monochrome images. Yellow or Orange filter for the darkened skies ?
Yellow. Orange makes skin tones too light and kills an extra stop of exposure.
Agree, the degree of sky darkening made me think it was more than yellow. But the sky looked really blue, thus the effect. I’m reminded to use a hot shoe viewfinder for this type of shooting. The monochrome really makes these images.

Do you have a harness or strap for holding the video camera as you walk about?
Sarah does. She has an Amazon basics chest harness. Jeff doesn’t. He attaches the GoPro to his camera bag strap which goes across his chest.
3:05 she understood the assignment haha
Sorry, I don't understand the comment.

Yes the GoPro is closer to 18mm.
