  • As women our power as a collective is indescribable. I think our ability to connect deeply and cooperate with each other is one of our greatest and most powerful traits. But it’s tough to come together and make things happen if we fall into the trap of being selfish, competitive or downright treacherous to each other.
    We regularly talk about and put a lot of emphasis on meeting good people and finding good friends. Rightly so. But it’s always worth the reminder that it’s just as important to be a good person and to be a good friend.
    So today I want us to dive into a little bit of girl code and go over a few guidelines on how to interact with, respect and support other women so our friendships can flourish, we can live better lives, keep doing big things, and changing the world.

    Viewing other women as competition and being jealous only perpetuates the patriarchy. As manifestelle said, “if you devalue other women you devalue yourself”

    It's so hard to trust women again but one thing about me that would never change...UPLIFTING THEM! You'll never have an insecure day around me!!

    It has to be reciprocated on both sides. I had many one sided relationships I recently ended. Great to have a code ethics to instill that everyone respects

      For sure! One of the best things about a list like this is that it not only gives a guideline of how we should behave but also what to look for in other women. That way we can make smart choices about who to let into our lives.

    I've watched about 3 minutes and am almost crying. I've been bullied all my life, had no true mother figure and no father at all in my life. I've never had friends nor anyone i could really turn to, I've always been alone. I mean sure it made me independent as hell but I have always longed for that connection but for some reason I just can't connect with people (I guess the whole ADHD thing I have been told I have doesn't help.) but there was this one group of really pretty girls in a pub, once when I was for once invited to something, when I was in the toilet on my phone for like 10 minutes trying not to cry, (turned out I was only invited so three guys could grope/footsie me because they were interested in me sexually) those girls asked me if I was ok and I nearly broke down but that was a huge bit of kindness that I haven't had before. so since then I try to be really attentive if I see teens or girls or even women that seem lonely or in need of help and I will point out little things or just randomly compliment them. I do it with guys too but more girls as I have noticed that some guys think its for different reasons.

      @onevenus6040 6 месяцев назад

      Did those girls invite you for that reason?

    Girl, thank you for these videos. I’ve been following you all the way from Zimbabwe since last year and I must tell you this, by cultivating my femininity I have started something that has caught fire. Advanced femininity is a foreign concept here and because I have been putting in the work, I stand out a lot and I’ve been receiving a lot of HATE. Everything I do is scrutinized and criticized, I’m harshly judged, people always have something nasty to say about me. Even when I’m quiet minding my own business it’s a problem. For a while it took a toll on my mental health but I then realized that all this hate is just compliments. They see me!!! But I wouldn’t have it any other way sis. Thank you for holding us up and helping us become 2.0 versions of ourselves. Please do a video on how to deal with the jealousy and hate towards feminine women.

    • @NoName-zh9ov
      @NoName-zh9ov 9 месяцев назад +3

      I've lived in South Africa, I kinda get what you mean, youre doing great. People usually hate on things 1. they can't achieve on their own 2. don't have the guts to do 3. they don't have but (secretly) want etc. in general, if you recieve hate because you change for the better, its because they fear you will become better than them and they cant risk that since they measure their worth based on how sh!t you are doing at least thats my experience in this world. so if you are happy with the person you have and or are becomming and youre not actively causing misery for others, then you go girl!!!

    This is definitely my community. I’ve once ended a friendship because she couldn’t hold my private life to herself. She would tell her husband. She thought it was normal to share her friends personal lives with him. Apparently that doesn’t count as betrayal because “they are one.” She thought it was cute and funny. I left her. She thought I was being dramatic. I feel vindicated by this post ❤

      As a wife, I am one with my husband, but you are entitled to your boundaries. If she violated them and the relationship couldn't be repaired (with perhaps you not sharing everything with her) that was the right call for you to make.

    This was very refreshing. In my community I feel that we lack in embracing our sisterhood and a lot of us are out to out-do each other. As a mum, I genuinely thought other mum's had it all together and I was the only one that struggled. Little did I know that I was too honest about my struggles and that its an unspoken thing that all mums struggle and that 95% of mums are just good at putting on a front.

    I have no luck with women including my own sister and i know folks who know it all including dusties who find their way to this channel will say that i must be at fault too. Some women even go behind my back to sabotage when they see a decent man showing interest in me.I have been people's greates cheerleader because naturally i'm a caring person. I now actively switch off my goodness and mirror the behavior. I do not go out of my way to make friends with anyone either. I'm still happy for women who can get along with eachother though.

    I'm going to be honest. I appreciate this video. I was hesitant to watch this because I didn't want to see or hear the truth about it. I'm aware of the Girl Code, but the ladies I've been friends with over the years never really included me in this really. I'm the woman that got black-balled just for being a good person...you know, the one who's always cheery (which I can't help, cause it's my nature). You would think other women would want to hang with someone like that. But these ladies didn't apparently, and saw me as a downer (which I don't understand). When I was super unhappy with relationships and needed advice from them, no one comforted me at all or told me things to help me out. I was alone to "Figure things out, eventually.", or "Maybe that'll stop her from being so freaking cheery all the time." I'm now learning from this video that, like you mentioned, that not every woman follows the code or has your back. So, I'm re-prioritizing my friendships now because I simply don't need the judgment anymore.

    The "my sister's keeper" point hit me hard.
    During the first night at uni, I was at the campus club and met cool girls. We drifted apart and went talking to other people. I was talking to a guy and then I left alone.
    Half an hour later the same group of girls tracked my room down and knocked on my door to make sure that I was okay.
    It was the most shocking and sweetest thing ever. I will remember that generous act for as long as I live.
    I'm going to work on being more open and forgiving. These are my two pitfalls.
    Great video and a really interesting topic ❤
